Well, I've been talking to my gang of buds who are accompanying me to Shimakon, and one of them has raised the question: Quote: Are we allowed to dress in Harry Potter outfits, possibly to enter the cos-play contest? She doesn't have a gaia, and asked me to post this smile

This is just a guess... but I would say no... only because Harry Potter is not Japanese... not Anime... not Manga. I love Harry Potter though. Would love to see outfits. mrgreen

Oh but on the contrary Miss Veeny.
I'd say Harry Potter outfits SHOULD be allowed. I mean cmon, have you SEEN all that Harry Potter sla.. fan art?
it's EVERYWHERE.. gonk
although... i don't think it would stand too great of a chance of actually winning, since most people would more likely cheer on actual anime outfits. at least, i'd think so. Since it is an Anime convention. but then what do i know, i'm just an assistant xp
Although i would also like to see those outfits n_n

yes.. being kicked out due to Harry Potter cosplay would be a bit over the top.. ninja
but i'll look forward to seeing some harry potter ppls there :

She doesn't have a gaia, and asked me to post this smile You are free to wear any type pf costume to Shimakon, as long as it doesn't expose too much skin. I know the HP cosplay would not do this! As far as entering the contest, I don't think so. I will ask the Sisters and see what they say. You are free to wear any costume you feel like at Shimakon. When I was at AX, I saw people dressing as star wars, hey arnold, disney princesses, and not anime related characters.
