 ((OOC: I'll be going by Bo, instead of Googie Boofie))
Bo stood in the arena, tapping the shape of a pokeball in the pouch at her side. Her eyes did a quick run-down of the area and her hand slipped inside the bag. Wrapping her fingers around the pokeball she pulled it out and whispered, seemingly to herself, "Ready, Matem?"
Tossing the ball out several feet infront of her, Matem's shape appeared. He lowered himself low to the ground and waited...
Bo shouted "Matem, Go!"
He lunged forward, teeth barred, and let out a long howl as flames poured from his muzzle.
Damage: 2

Adona walked into the ring with a pokeball in hand, housing her favorite (and only, really) pokemon, a houndour named Psych. She grinned when she saw another girl in the ring, a new opponent, and went up to the battlefield, tossing the ball up, and then right out.
Psych's form appeared after a glow of red, and she let out a loud howl, very much pleased to be back in battle. She barely managed to avoid getting hit head on by a sudden attack from the offending houndour, and she growled at him, annoyed. Adona grinned.
"Just the type of battle we like, huh Psych!" She grinned. "Go on, bite his head off!"
Psych grinned, and lunged for Matem, teeth bared.
HP: 32/34

Matem skidded backwards, leaving hot tracks in his previous place. He blinked hard and it took him a second to recover from the hit.
Bo bit her lips nervously, this being her first fight with him, she was anxious.
"You're okay Matem, go at her!"
Matem stood again, limbs tense, and pounced forward on his opponent.

Adona grinned when Psych struck, and watched, eyes gleaming. Psych growled low at Matem, and tried to get out of the way again, to no avail. She just wasn't fast enough, and so she took the hit.
"Now torch him, Psych! Flamethrower!"
Psych grinned, and took two big breaths, before shooting fire out at Matem with a howl.

Matem had almost managed to dodge the flames shooting his way, but misjudged the direction and was singed slightly on his right shoulder.
Bo resisted to urge to go full out cheerleader on Matem, and instead shouted another encouragement "Way to go, Matem! Show them what you can do!"
He took a running leap at Psych, chest heaving, and opened his mouth propelling dark flames her way.

Adona winced when Psych was burned across her rump when she'd spun around to try and get away, and Psych yelped loudly, fuming. She rounded on Matem, eyes narrowed, and stiffened. Adona saw the stiffen, and grinned. "Bite him, Psych! Show the brute what you're made of!"
The snarl Psych gave could easily be read as with pleasure, and Psych lunged for Matem again, jaws open and ready to clamp down on the first bit of flesh and muscle she got her teeth on.
HP: 21/34

Howling in pain as Psych's teeth came in contact with a rather large chunk of his side, Matem ripped himself free and stumbled backward.
Bo clenched her fists in worry, "Get up Matem! You're too tough for that!"
Matem looked backwards in agreement, he was being a baby.
Bo smiled, "Feelin' like barebeque?!" She yelled from across the arena.
Matem Let out a howling screech and a blinding flames lept from his body and across the room.
HP: 18/31

Adona grinned a little, and rolled her eyes at Bo's comment. "C'mon, Psych!" Psych took the brunt of the damage, and whined a little in pain, shaking her head. Adona frowned a little. "Okay, Psy?"
Whether or not she was okay, Psych was a bit too prideful to just give up. No way. Not her. She steeled herself, and when Adona yelled for her to attack, she did so.
"Crunch 'im to bits, Psy!"
Psych lunged again, teeth bared, to crunch down on hopefully one of his legs.
HP: 13/34

Matem couldn't dodge fast enough and was snatched by the ankle. The force threw him backwards, but caused him to land forwards in a painful 'thump'.
Bo could see the toll his first battle was taking on him. Making sure he was alright to go on, she threw out another instruction. "Knock her down, Matem!"
The noise came to him a second late and may have given the opponent time to move but he immediately pulled himself up and took a clumsy strike at Psych.
HP: 15/31

Adona winced when Psych was knocked over, and bit her lip hard. "C'mon, Psy! Show 'im what you're made of!" She cheered, grinning at Psych. Psych writhered to try and get out from under Matem and away, and gave up that finally, fuming.
Adona saw her struggle, and grinned. "Bite him again, Psych! Leave a mark this time!"
Psych grinned, and bared her teeth, biting down at the first bit of Matem she could snatch as hard as she could.

Matem squeeled, thrashing his head and spaztically moving his body to free himself of Psych's grip. Finally he fell back, proving he was becoming quite the unstable battler.
He tried to back up towards Bo as gracefully as he could but ended up falling again.
Bo knew his physical attacks probably wouldn't do him much good anymore, judging by the hairless spot from Psych's last hit.
"Let's make it hot in here, Matem!" Bo wished her lines weren't so cheesy, but hey...
Matem puffed up his chest, inhaling as much as he could and let out two short puffs of fire soaring in the direction of their opponent.
HP: 9/31

Psych let out a howl, pained, and stumbled on her feet for a couple seconds, before crumbling to the ground, fainted. Adona winced, and snapped her fingers. "Aw..." She dug out her pokeball for Psych, and held it out.
The knocked-out Houndour returned to her pokeball, and Adona put it into her pocket, so she'd remember to take Psych to the Poke Center. She looked over at Matem and Bo, and grinned.
"Nice battle." She said, eyes dancing. "Maybe we can do that again some time?" She called, adjusting her hair so it was out of her eyes.

Matem trotted slowly back to Bo and sat at her feet panting heavily.
Bo reached down and hugged him tightly around the neck whispering congratulations over and over. She pulled the empty pokeball from her pouch and smiled as his shape dissapeared back into it. She looked up and stood from her crouching position, smiling.
"Absolutely."

Wow, I could actually see the two houndours going at it in the middle there! =D
