First of all, this thread is only for those of us who have FINISHED THE SEVENTH BOOK. This includes the epilouge (since that's the topic).

Personally, I love how sketchy JK Rowling left it; it lets us fill in the blanks if we want to! So, I'm suggesting that we do just that in a short summary. Write a short summary of what you imagine happened to the characters. (All of them or just one or two of your favorites.) But let's keep it canon! No offense, but there is possible canon musings, and there is OOC fanfiction, and we want to keep it in the first category (as in since Harry is married to Ginny, he cannot be married to Hermione or Draco or whatever.)

So! Speculate away!

(Some suggestions- Who did they marry? Did they have kids? What is their job? Do they die young? Do they do anything important or worthwhile? Do they have any more pain or heartache? Are they successful? Did they change anything?)

Personally, I wonder who raised Teddy! After all, both his parents died. I think maybe Tonks' mother, Andromeda, could have raised him.

Well they said that Harry was supposed to be the god father to Teddy...So I guess Harry did.

Hm... Anyone else that could use some speculation?

I think that whether it is Neville or not that Luna marries, I could definitely see her as almost a hippie type mom with almost as many kids as the Weasleys. xd They could just run around loose and weave daisies in their hair and travel with their mum sometimes around the world. And she would be great at encouraging them to use their imaginations.

...Ginny probably stayed at home with the kids. SORRY GINNY. xd
No, but really, I love Ginny. She's awesome. I just can't think of a good job for her. Maybe she could be a Quidditch player for that all-girls team, the Hollyhead Harpies?

As far as couples go, I think Lavender Brown would have ended up marrying Seamus Finnegan. And as for Dean Thomas, I... kind of want him to marry Luna. -shot- I just think they spent a lot of time together when they were captured and afterwards at Shell cottage. I could see it. But since that probably never happens, I suppose Dean could marry Parvati.

I definitely just paired off the remaining Gryffindors randomly for no purpose. xd

Yes, in an interview, JKR said that teddy was raised by Andromeda. smile

Personally, I love how JK made the ending. She made it really good with on son having Harry's every trait, then the tease of an older bro, and a younger sis. It catches you. What I think she did was made it the end, but she made it where she can start a new series about a future generation of Harry's son in Hogwarts... Being one of the many Harry Potter fans, I say I would love for her to keep the series alive... biggrin biggrin

I had mixed feelings about the epilogue. I liked how Ginny and Harry, and Ron and Hermione got married and had kids and all that, but I really wanted to know what happened to everyone else (the Weasley family, Luna and the other members of the DA, and especially the Malfoys). I love the Malfoys - Draco, especially - and I really want to know what happened to them after Voldemort died. And I liked how Draco was the only one who appeared to have aged, what with his receding hairline and all stare And what is up with his son's name: Scorpius??? seriously.

Well, I remember reading in and MSN.com article that she said that Harry and Ron were Aurors, and that Hermione worked in the magical law department or some such thing. There was a reference to it being kind of ironic as she had laughed earlier on about becoming a lawyer.

As far as it goes, in some ways I liked it, in others, it was a tad disappointing. I would have liked better details on what happened. But it's official that she is writing an encyclopedia, so hopefully that will give us all the info that we want on all our characters. I know personally, with most of the stories I've written, you could ask me almost anything about the characters and I'd be able to tell you, even if it wasn't written into the story.
