Dhum walked up to one side of the battle area, smiling like a kid in a candy shop, thrilled at being able to battle. With a swish of his arm a pokeball was resting on his hand, before a flick of the wrist send it in the air. "Richie your up!" Dhum called as a white line shot out of the pokeball, and turned into a Pikahu. The pikahu stood on the field, posed ready for battle.

Ruri grinned as she plucked her one Pokeball from her belt. This was going to be her first battle and she was determined to give it her all. Hopefully Lore would feel the same way, even if the young Meditite hadn’t quite warmed up to her yet.
“Go Lore!”
In a flash of red light the Pokemon appeared on the field. It peeked one eye open at its opponent and then let out a yawn.

Dhum looked at the little Pikachu in front of him and called out, "You ready then Pikachu." Pikachua turned his head round, giving a nod of agreement with a little "Pika." Happy that his pokemon was as ready as he was Dhum started the battle of, "Richie thundershock".
Sparks started to appear and on Pikachu's cheeks and with a powerful "Pikachuuuu!" a jolt of electricity was hurled towards Lore.

That certainly jump-started Lore. “Medi!” He gave a little angry cry as the electricity gave him a zap. Ruri giggled before pointing at the enemy Pikachu. “Come on Lore, get up and use Brick Break!”
The Meditite jumped forward, his fist raised and ready for the attack.

Richie felt the force of the hit, hard. It was as though his lack of battling had caused him not to realised just what a battle meant
Dhum called out to Richie, "You all right buddy?" already there appeared to be a shred of unsurety in his voice. Were they really ready to battle yet? Still there was no going back now, after a confirmatory nod from Richie Dhum shouted out, "Let's try another thundershock Richie!"
Richie charged up again and sent another bolt of electricity towards Lore.

Lore was not a happy Pokemon. He frowned at the Pikachu in front of him that hadn’t fallen down under the first attack. “Medi-meditite!” He taunted before being given quite the zap.
Ruri flinched. That looked like it had hurt. “Don’t let that get you down!” She encouraged while jumping around on the spot. “Use Confusion.”
Lore closed his eyes and concentrated, soon his body was surrounded by a hazy purple aura.

Richie felt the telekinetic force push against him. His little pikachu legs started to quiver under the force, but he remained on his feet and with a shake of his head seemed to regain his self.
Dhum smiled as his little pikachu seemed to be fine again, "Let's try shocking him again Richie!" Even before the last word had past Dhum's lips Richie charged up again and sent a third jolt of electricity towards Lore.

Oh, this was really beginning to annoy him! Lore huffed angrily as for the third time he felt the jolt of electricity run through his body. His eyes squeezed shut at the pain but he soon brushed it off.
“Come on, use Cross Chop!” Ruri called from the sidelines, waving her arms around.
At the command Lore darted forward and karate chopped at Richie with both hands.

Richie flinched as the hands came thundering down on him. his eyes clenched together in pain and he let out a shout of pain "Pika!".
Dhum watched as his little Pikachu had a world of pain rained upon him. His heart pounded as he watched, unable to do anything to stop it. As the attack stopped Dhum shouted out to make sure Richie was ok.
This time before Dhum even had time to respond Pikachu started to charge up and as the shout came from dhum Richie shot the blast towards Lore.

“Oh yeah! Good going!” Ruri cheered but was soon cringing as the next attack made Meditite see stars. The Pokemon shivered and cringed with the pain. His eyes were unfocused as he attempted to glare at his opponent.
Double ouch. “Er… use Psybeam Lore!”
Lore’s head snapped up and he put the pain aside. The purple light returned around him but this time it shot outwards towards the Pikachu, changing to rainbow colours. "Medi!"

For a moment Richie stared in awe at the rainbow coloured Aura, before it hit him dead on sending him rolling around the floor. Richie layed there for a moment before jumping back to his feat, now more determined than before.
Dhum smiled at the determination of his little Pikachu. "Richie at least the thundershocking seems to be doing his head in, so thundershock again!"
Richie charged up again and with a battle cry sent a fourth jolt of electricity hurdling towards Lore.

Lore knew what was coming next and braced himself as best he could against the electric attack. It still hurt but he had to persevere. Of course, his anger wasn’t helping in the least bit. It simply blinded him.
“Don’t give up! Use Hidden Power!”
He moved into a meditating position, letting out a soft breath. Balls of light appeared around him, dancing around his body a moment before shooting outwards at the Pikachu.
