...One of the most under-appreciated canon pairings in Yu Yu Hakusho. If Sakyo hadn't died, the results would've been quite cute. (Ick. What a generic word.)
Anyhow, despite this...I believe this pairing to be more of an infatuation than an actual love. Perhaps it's because I don't believe in love at first sight, soul mates, or any of that, but really, the entire Dark Tournament lasted ten days, and Sakyo and Shizuru knew each other for only about a week. Was that enough for true love to develop between them, or was it just a passing crush?
Because, in all honesty, Shizuru was HEARTBROKEN. Over a guy she had known for a few days. (She seemed quite unaffected in the Chapter Black saga, though. xd )
