RIZE is actually pretty popular in Japan. They are, what some would describe, nu-metal. They are pretty hard and the guitar is always fantastic, and most of the lyrics are rapped. They are so hardcore. heart
The concept for RIZE was created in 1997. It didn't really come together until 2000, when they released their single Kaminari, followed by their first album Rookey.

Other Career Points
They teamed up with Japanese reggae band, Def Tech, in 2005 to re-make Def Tech's song, Konomama. One version was released on RIZE's album Spit and Yell and the other version was released on Def Tech's release Lokahi Lani.
In 2007 they participated in Live Earth. They played 7 songs, including their new single Pink Spider, which is of course a hide cover.
Their international fanbase has 'sploded because of Live Earth, they weren't too popular with international jmusic fans before because they're way too rap for jrockers to like it automatically. sweatdrop
You can watch videos of the performance here (they're under Japan- Tokyo)
