First, I'll like to point out the last sentence you wrote: '...But they HATE eachother.' Correction, if Ash hated Paul so much, then why is he always trying to befriend him? And, if I remember correctly, back at Oreburgh City, he wished Paul luck in his upcoming Gym battle.

There's also Episode 40 (yeah, it was in Japanese, but I think I got the gist of it), after Cynthia beat Paul, wasn't Ash the first one to go up to him and say something? (HOW I WISH I KNEW WTF THEY WERE SAYING). And by his facial [removed](and based on Ash's personality) I think it's safe to assume that it was something nice/something to cheer him up.

One of the reasons I'm against Ikarishipping is also what you mentioned before: They have absolutely no interaction. Paul doesn't seem to notice her, and the one time he did was back at Roark's gym when he asked "Who are you again?" or something along those lines.

"Dawn could take all of Paul's crap", I forgot who said that, but I don't think she could. She seems to get irritated whenever Paul disses on Ash, and if a simple name forgetting hits her nerve (it might have been different in the Japanese version), then I doubt she could take Paul's bitchy attitude 24/7.

Now for the personality thing. UgGod, if they were to spend a night together, I think one of them would be wanting to kill themselves three hours later. Or less. Paul's not a very amiable and respectful person (and when he is, it's only to adults, excluding Team Rocket); Dawn's overly 'bubbly' personality would drive him nuts. And I doubt even she could coax him into doing anything.

They never stated anyone's sexual preferences ('cept Brock's, but sometimes I question, and a few other pplz who I dun care about), so we can't pass judgement on whether Paul's straight, bi or gay. But I'll say that purple makes me wonder laugh.

'Kay, that's enough 'against Ikari' for now. For support of Comashipping: this is just something I thought over right now, you know when you want to do something, you sort of become obsessed with it? For example, I dunno, beating a video game. Yeah, I know all of you go through that too. I guess that's one of the reasons people like pairing rivals together, because it so makes sense: you want to be better than so-and-so, so you sort of become 'obsessed' with them.

The 'water/oil' analogy, I'm somewhat familiar with it, but I never could decipher it well. Water and oil don't mix, correct? Which would kind of make them opposites, right? Doesn't that corny old saying go 'Opposites attract'? Nnyeah, that's right. 'Sides, you could do the whole water/oil thing with Dawn and Paul. But I won't, cause that won't help me.

Time for my obvious regression. You don't 's**t' on people you think aren't worthy of your time. But Paul does that to him whenever he can (even IF he wants to ignore him), so it's like I conclude the only reason Paul disses on Ash is because he IS worth his time.

And I still think Paul has abandonment issues, but that has nothing to do with this debate. Yeah, I'm done talking. For now. I'll wait for someone else to say something before I bring up more points. Because I'm that lazy. Hopefully I didn't sound condescending. -_-; I have a tendency to do that. Sorry if I did.

Okay, if ANYTHING, that just shows how nice of a guy Ash is. He acts so kindly to him even though they are a foil because well...it's in his nature. (just like it's in Paul's nature to be an utter p***k)




Now who ever said that they had to be in a relationship RIGHT NOW? Even though there is nothing now, I think that the two have more of a potential then Ash and Paul EVER would.

Granted, Obsession is an aspect of being in love with someone, but it doesn't mean that if you are obsessed with someone that you are in love with them.

This reminds me of something:

There was once this girl in school. We were both opisites you see- and equaly adamant about our opinoins. Every time one would open their mouth the other would strike back. Now I would (as well as she) would normaly *try* to ignore somebody withopisite beliefs, however there was this irrestable pleasure in our rivalry. Never open fighting mind you, but it was still a pretty intense rivalry nonetheless.

Why do I say this?

Because it's like Ash and Paul. (Granted, even if Ash is the better person and would rather make friends) Once you encounter a rival that is your foil, depending on the personality, you just ca't help yourself but to try and "s**t on them" even if you are prefectly respectful to everyone else.

Now then, were this girl and I secretly in love?
In denial of some kind of crush?

(as for James, I don't think he was to be with a woman OR a man. Poor thing is scared for life. Silver isn't gay either for his obvious lack of fasion sense [is he colorblind!?] and his quite obvious crush on his "big sister")



I think that obsession with a person would be the same as obsession for an object- granted, you can't stop thinking about it/him/her, but that doesn't mean that it has feelings of love attatched to it.



I'm pretty sure that she would stick in her two cents on anything I had to say even if I didn't respond to her anyways. It would have been virtualy impossible for me to say anything and have her not respond so it's not like I could test that out anyways

You see, but that's the thing, Paul is a "true sadist" (although that really isn't a very good way of putting it, he's more like "You are retarded and I don't give a rat's-a** if you hear me or not because it's the truth") in other words: he believes that Ash and his methods are stupid/illogical/"lame-o"/etc. and he is very blunt about it.

I'll admit that I was wrong earlier, they don't hate eachother per say, but it's not like they love eachother, or even like eachother.

I am in complete support for Ikarishipping. I think this because while they don't have much interaction, when they DO, there are sparks. Their personalities would be beautiful together.
I'm against Comashipping because I've never really been a fan of anybody with Ash but Misty, and if Ash and Paul were to ever get together, Paul would get fed up with Ash, QUICK.
