Perosnally, I'm straight and think being a lesbian is odd (no offense, I just couldn't imagine myself with another girl at all!). that said, some people think differently then I, as a matter of fact, I'm the abstract mind to most... Orientation should be considered the way religion is. It's a matter of belief in what the person enjoys. There's no problem with that in my mind. It's different and not how I'd prefer to be but I'm not the only one with a opinion that matters... So, even though I don't think being gay is exactly appropriate, it'ssomeones free will and choice. A person has a right to religion and in my mind, sexual preference is a practice of belief in gender differences and personal opinion of a persons sexual attraction. So, even with my personal preferences, I still don't believe it to be right to say it's illegal to like someone your gender. Damn it, how many of us had our first kiss with our best friend?! nearly everyone I know who's had their first kiss kissed someone of the same gender, whether it was for love or not I wouldn't know...

But that's my opinion. You want to make the choice to have same gender love, it doesn't screw up my life any and shouldn't make a damn difference to those politicians just because their straight!! (and not all of them are...)

Just to break into the defenses.......

The United states of america is created under the idea of Freedom not cristianity..........BY A BUNCH OF SLAVE OWNERS

The idea that everyone should have a freedom of speech and the ability to vote........AS LONG AS THEY OWN LAND/LIVESTOCK

Those were serious messed up principles to start a nation

HOWEVER

I feel the need to put the united states into a simple example in order to explain my standings better:

Say the United States is a club as members you pay-dues, ie. taxes, to support public and political government run facilities and programs. The political and public astablishments are run by the club hand book; the constitution of the United States.

Now; the constitution says your club steers clear of religion. That's the deal you made; if you pay for it with taxes it can't have religion in it. That's in the pesky bylaws or subheaders of the handbook.

So as long as everyone is paying no religion in these facilities or programs, ie. the house of congress can not pass a bill banning something because it is deemed a sin within a holy text of a singular religion.

There has been genetic proof the sexaul orientation is not a choice but a genetic pre-disposition. It's just the genetic information that determines what sex you are attacted to: Heterosexauls didn't choose to be attached to the opposite sex it just happened.

Think about it, when you were thirteen years old did you wake up and say "righ time to choose my sexaul orientation for the rest of my life."

OR

When you hit thirteen did you brain just make you think "wow that persons hot." Regardless of sex.

*sigh* it's just personal opinion about it... and no where in there did I say every gay person had sex... I know gay guys at my school who I assume to be very kind and never have had sex before... I didn't mean to come across like it was necessary to, what I was saying, or at least trying to say, was that sexual preference is a persons choice and belief, similar to religion... It should be a persons choice to be gay and chose their own lifestyle, not be breaking the law in being in a pleasureable mood around someone of the same gender (that does not mean in bed! That's not what I mean at all!!) Love is a natural thing. If it happens to be with someone of the same gender, it shouldn't matter... the government shouldn't get involved in love, it's like saying you can't marry someone you love because their exactly the same as you... I don't find it right... no where in that did I say that they have to sleep together, that the government has bias, whether it does or not, or that I believed same sex marriages are wrong, I simply stated I don't think that the govenrment should bother with it. Appearance doesn't make a difference in true love, why should it make a difference in the government?
