It was nearing midnight, with the moon vainly attempting to throw it's bright, but gentle, beams through a heavy swirl of dark gray clouds and fog. Ominously, the fog descended, swirling around the ground int he clearing next to the dense forest. Abhay snorted, languidly trotting through the fog until he arrived in the clearing, lowering his head to nibble idly on a delectable looking little bush. The stallion raised his head slowly, ears perked up and forwards. Someone's there, he thought, immediately laying his ears down to his skull and flaring his nostrils, pawing the ground with one hoof, in obvious annoyance.
"Who's there?" he called out, his voice strong and unwavering. His question hinted at more than simply curiosity; confidence and irritation laced his tones.

The black and white male swayed his head towards the other stallion in the clearing, still chewing on the damp grass he'd just plucked from the ground. His ears pressed forward as he started towards Abhay, dark tail slashing at the thickening fog, nearly inaudible steps taking him closer. Appearing through a thinner area of fog, a good six or seven steps from the male, was Archipelago, his slightly wet coat shimmering in the dappled moonlight.
"No need to be in such distress," commented Archi, voice low and thunderous, almost having a hissing or weezing quality at the end of his words, like the rolling and crashing of waves on the beach. With dark eyes, he studied Abhay for quite a long while, eyes pouring over every detail, trying his best not to miss anything.

"I was hardly... distressed," Abhay retorted, his voice so sharp that it bordered offensive. The stallion snorted, lightly stepping a bit closer to the other stallion to get a better look. Flicking his tail to bat at some irritable, minuscule foe Abhay offered another snort, this one offered towards the gnat rather than Archipelago. He, too, looked over this adversary with carefully scrutinizing eyes, sizing him up and drinking in every little detail to be had. Tossing his head and stepping away, Abhay tore up a patch of grass and chewed thoughtfully before speaking.
"What brings you here?" he asked, looking around the damp, dark clearing. It was late, and certainly most of the creatures of the area were nestled safe and sound in their respective homes, asleep. Why was this stallion out? Oh, of course, the question could easily be turned back and handed to Abhay, but, manners dictated that Archipelago answered before asking his own questions.

"What do you MEAN 'who's there?'" Gennaviere asked, harshly. She would not take lightly to that tone from anybody. The red and white female glared, eyes unwavering. She looked as if she had been murdered. Red spots that ran down her white coat. Black eyes that pierced the night. She had come out of what seemed nowhere. Just there hiding among the fog and basking in the pale glow of the moon. The moonbeams refleced off of the dazzling white that most of her coat had been.
"Why can't you been more polite?" Her rude temperment shining through and her voice strong and clear. Why should it be her to explain herself first? or did 'Ladies first' come into effect here? Either way maybe it was best to make her name know quickly.
"I." He started then paused for dramatic effect, "Am Gennaviere. And will only be called as such by you... You strange boys!"

Archipelago suppressed an amused chuckle at Abhay's antics, his body remaining quite still as he spoke, and only moved after the other leaned down towards the grass. Archi followed suit, first smelling a particularly inviting patch of grass before ripping another mouthful of out from the ground. He shook his head gently, clearing the grass of any dirt clods that had managed to hold on thus far, dark mane whipping around before landing oddly, a few locks laying over his face, obscuring his eyes.
"I have my reasons," the stallion said, rather guarded, and was about to say more, but was thrown off with another unfamiliar voice. As the red-spotted mare made herself known, he took a few steps back, straightening his neck as he looked at her, lingering a bit over her striking coloring. A smirk crossed his face as he chewed, admiring the female's boisterous attitude.
"A pleasure, Gennaviere. I am Archipelago." It seems he would have no luck with his quiet meal.

ANOTHER one? Abhay would have groaned, but, that wasn't very polite. so, instead, he merely snorted and looked down his long nose at the female. did she expect some sort of welcoming committee from the two stallions? Staring her down with an angry glare, Abhay turned away from the female without so much as a grunt to answer her question of who he was, and what he meant by speaking to her in that tone. He could do whatever he wanted! Snorting once more, Abhay tore up another patch of grass and chewed, turning his gaze to Archi.
"Very well," he grudgingly allowed the circuitous answer to slide. There was no definitive answer on why the other stallion was present, but, it didn't matter a whole lot to Abhay any longer. He was a tad more interested in the fiery mare. "Gennaviere?" he repeated, and would have raised his eyebrows had he had any. "I will be more polite, once you are," the stallion replied in a sickeningly sweet and fake tone as he stepped closer to the mare.

Chewing quietly as the two bantered on, he could tell Abhay was irritated, though for what purpose? Solely because someone else had strayed into the clearing? He didn't seem the type to dislike company - rather, he seemed the type that would thrive in it. Competitive, sociable... though Archipelago knew it was wrong to judge before truly knowing. It was only natural, however, and the dark stallion chuckled inwardly. He was quite the opposite of these two; quiet and reserved...
He tossed his head again, with a bit more force, tail swaying. They seemed amusing, however, and so the male pushed forward, turning his head towards Abhay. "Would you pleasure us with an introduction? As you haven't done so, it would only be ... polite." The last word was stressed, and though it was hard to tell why he stressed it, he held his striped head high, almost regally, tilting just slightly in waiting, though he was unusually patient.

Covertly, Abhay let his gaze flicker to Archi with a curious look, watching as the stallion thought to himself. Abhay almost snorted as the other stallion chuckled, but was somewhat taken aback when the black and white stallion interrupted and rather strongly suggested that he introduce himself.
"I must have forgotten," Abhay slyly apologized. Letting his fore left hoof slide forwards along the ground, Abhay let his head dip down, nose touching his foreleg. He rose with a toss of his head, cocky and confident. "I am Abhay, at your service," he introduced himself and offered a friendly whicker by way of apologizing.

Archipelago nodded sharply and with a light snort at the apology. "Of course, it happens." Not to Archi, but he could understand. The black and white stallion bowed his head in a similar fashion, dark eyes never leaving the newly-introduced Abhay.
"A strong name for a strong individual, I think," He offered as he slowly rose, gaze switching momentarily to Gennaviere before returning to the other. "And as I said before, it is a pleasure, Abhay." And with the pleasantries out of the way, he wondered what next the bluish stallion would do.

Abhay rolled his eyes, stepping lightly away from Archi, with his eyes focused on a patch of grass that had been calling his name. Snatching it firmly with his teeth, Abhay tore it from the ground and began to nibble on the chutes while watching Archi and Gennaviere. As he finished chewing, Abhay focused his gaze once more on Archi and scrutinized him sharply, snorting as he stepped closer.
"You never answered my question," Abhay pointed out with a vain head toss, his mane flopping over his neck. "Why are you out here this late?" He repeated his previous question, Gennaviere ignored for the time being. Abhay completely forgot the pleasantries that they had exchanged only moments before, reverting his intent to getting an answer from the black-and-white stallion.
