I am Alus, the current owner of this guild. hinaruto33 is my vice captian who helped me form this guild.
I guess I'll start with the brief history of Miss Gaia Pageant.
I started this pageant back in 2005 shortly after I graduated from HS. I had a whole lot of time on my hands and I figured what the hell, I'll come up with an avi contest to see how it goes.
I had a bit of an ambition to make it better than anyone else's contest thread. So I went into other threads that said avi contest and all that. I noticed that a lot of them (ok all of them) said to donate X amount of gold and that they would keep a certain percentage. I thought I could do better and by July 2005, I set up my own thread. The donation fee was really low, only 200 to join and all donations went to the winner of the contest. I kept nothing. I had 12 contestants that year. It was somewhat of a success. I decided to try again in 2006 and it floped a bit. I had 5 contestants and lowered the fee to 100 gold. Of course I didn't keep any percentage of it. However, I added some sugar to it. What ever gold I accumulated, I added it to the prize funding. So the grand prize never went down, it kept going up. Plus I added a crown. The Ice Tiara. Out of the 5 girls that won, Purple Muffins took the title again. This year, I'll have a new winner. This is my third year running the Pageant and I hope I can continue running it as long as Gaia is up and running.
