...and I walk out with a dress. -_-; I went into David's Bridal to get measurements taken so that I could order my wedding dress online, but I found a dress there that I loved AND they were running a sale. So yeah, I already have my dress, veil, slip, bra (special one for a wedding dress; it's more like a corset), and then the gloves and jewelry that I already bought online. I was able to get $50 off the dress and 10% off each additional thing I bought, so I thought I'd get it all out of the way then. I had to apply for their credit card though; I didn't have quite enough in my savings account to get it all; at least I've got 6 months to pay it off with no interest though, I know I can manage that. 3nodding I had mom take some pictures of me in all the stuff so that when I go shoe shopping, I'll be able to get a better image of which shoes will look better with it; I'm gonna' have to put one of those in here. 3nodding EDIT: The lighting was horrid and my hair wasn't fixed. ^^;;; Here's me in everything (but the shoes, which I STILL need to go shopping for) : And here's a view of the back when I was running to get my wringing cell phone (ironically, it was Dennis calling xD ) :

That's absolutely gorgeous! The bead lace is lovely and that a-line looks great (I love that style). It's not over the top or too simple.
I love wedding dresses (I was just at a wedding!). We clean and press tons of them at our dry cleaners before people's weddings so we always talk about which ones we like. Yours is one of the best I've seen in a few months.
Very nice, Lev!

Thank you so much, Anarchy! whee *huggles* I saw it and I just fell in love with it; it's the only one I tried on. >w<
Really? I thought I'd have to take it back to David's Bridal to have it pressed. About how much does it cost at a dry cleaner? O.O

Ohhh, you're so lucky! It was just meant to be! heart
I believe the full clean and press is over $60 at our cleaners but we're the "high end" cleaners in town. Hell, that could even just be the press or just the cleaning. Our prices can be a bit...ridiculous...but our owner is the one who takes care of the wedding dresses.
Anyways, you should only need it pressed so if you do take it to a cleaners don't let them try to con you or anything. I'd say take it to the best one you can find (usually it's worth the price because they know what they're doing). If David's will do it I'd suggest that. If not, ask who they recommend.

whee
I'm pretty sure that's still less than David's would charge. They wanted $50 just to bustle the skirt. D:
Thank you for all the advice, Anarchy! =D I'll do some shopping around. 3nodding I'm just so happy to know that I have some other options. :'D
My mom was so frustrated at them because when she worked at a bridal shop (when she was about my age) they used the press/steam the dresses for free as a courtesy when someone bought them. At David's, they just told me to come back. D:<

Mom found me something cool online! 8D
It took me forever, but I was able to convince Dennis that, due to all my sculpting and such, a ring with diamonds would get in my way and that what I really want is for us to have matching bands. We've been shopping around, but I think the shopping is over after seeing this. It's a class at the Waco Art Center (which is conveniently located on our college's campus): "Ring, Rings, Rings Patricia Ross Discover how amazing Precious Metal Clay is. You'll design and create one-of-a-kind band rings in .999 fine silver. Tuition includes one package of clay, firing, misc. supplies, and use of all tools and equipment. 3 hr. workshop $77 (mm $67) Thurs. Aug. 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m."
We could actually make each other's rings! whee heart
Unfortunately, Dennis is not artistic. ^^; I called the number on the page to ask about how difficult it would be, but the receptionist told me that the person I need to talk to is in a meeting right now. I left my name and number, so they'll get back to me later.
And yes, I've done a little research on Precious Metal Clay in the past. It's a lot like polymer clay, which is made of tiny colored particles suspended in plasticizer(sp?); the plasticizer evaporates during firing, which is what makes the clay harden. In PMC though, the particles are actually tiny grains of metal; after the plasticizer evaporates during firing, you're left with regular metal, just like you'd bought it at a store. So no, our rings will not be made of clay. PMC is only called clay because it works on the same principles.

No one called me back, so I had to call again, but I got someone that time. And I was able to get Dennis to agree to my plan! =D He'd been leery about it since he's not very artistic and was afraid he'd mess it up, but he said that if it means that much to me (and it does) he'll at least give it a try. heart They have to have five people register to be able to hold the class though. I mentioned it to a friend of ours too and she said that she might be interested. She may even get her husband to do it too! So that's a possibility of four people already! =D

New computer is shiny 3nodding
That sounds so cool, though! You could make the ring however you wanted! Like, inscribe it and stuff, make purty patterns (if you're good at that...) sweatdrop
I like sculpting. I just don't have money, or clay, or talent... but whatever. Is still fun. xp

It's a compaq. Note to guild: don't buy emachines. The motherboard fries really fast on 80% of the computers... the guy at the computer store said that he had fifty emachines computers to repair and only like three of other brands, and they all had the same problem. -end rant-
I just did some wire sculpture with shiny rocks in the middle. It's purty xp I can't do carp with clay, though.
