My dear friends, I have recently begun working on a fanfiction series based on the world of Disney. The focus of this series is the (obviously fan-created) relationship between Maleficent, self-proclaimed "Mistress of all Evil," and the wickedly cunning Jafar. I have always had a unique interest in this relationship from the moment I first saw "Aladdin" during the re-birth of my Disney obsession (Which began when I was nine), and, as I had seen "Sleeping Beauty" a few weeks previous, the thought of such a pair just popped in to my mind and refused to die away. This has been my favorite Disney couple every since (even topping the Mad Hatter and Alice, unbelievably) and has only been increased overtime. Before it was a relationship I only encouraged in my day-dreams. (And yes, these thoughts were PG rated. If you know me then you know my thinking tends to stay at the G-rating. After all, I have only even seen nine movies over PG-13 and six of them were "Elm St.") However, I recently began watching "House of Mouse" and my liking of this pair went off the charts when one of the episodes actually had Maleficent and Jafar go on a date. I had thought for certain I was the only individual who ever thought of these two villains together, so the episode was quite wonderful for me. Ever since my mind has been pestering me to work on a fanfiction of this couple and yet I felt I should question some of my friends before going a head with it, in case I would just end up wasting my time. As you lot are all my friends I decided I should run it by you as well and see what all of you think. So, am I brilliantly unique for such a pairing or completely insane?

((And yes, a lot of my stories or the stories I enjoy revolve around odd couples, such as the Mad Hatter and Alice, they just interest me. Before you ask, no, I am not gay, I am a straight as a board, I just happen to be a bit of hopeless romantic. Character flaw, I suppose. Heh.))

Being a hopeless romantic is not a character flaw. You could saw I am a hopeless Romantic for my dream of one day becoming a wolf, or lion, or something, even though that will never happen.

In all reality, I had once thought of that couple, but then, due to my mom having me but not being married, I thought, "No, Malificent would just try to use Jafar, and then Jafar would use Malificent back, and then they would break up.

I love the Disney and all stuff below PG13, but I do tend to go above that stuff, not it thoughts but in taste of movie. I think I have seen around 30 PG13 movies, and about 10 over, which include 300 (which I only watched for the Spartans), Blood and Chocolate (a great werewolf movie, despite the straying from the original book completely) and some others. The Harry potter movies that are remaining will so be above PG13. And the number is definatly going up soon so I can watch Underworld and Underworld Evolution, although they are horrer which I hardly watch, they are werewolves, which means I watch.

Oh, how wonderful, I was rather worried that it was and you would think badly of me for it. However, I must ask what becoming a wolf has to do with romance, my friend? Unless, of course, you wish to become a wolf in order to find romance. Heheh.
Hmm, I see what you mean. Well, there just might be some of that in my story, but being a romance they will just have to tough it out and get over it long enough to see that their love out-weighs their ambition, which will be a great feet for the pair of them, especially Jafar. However, thus far I have made Jafar the one who is pressing the relationship the most as Maleficent feels that it goes against the "Conduct of a Villain" and love just does not follow the rules of being a villain at all. I figured that Maleficent would be more interested in being the perfect villain while Jafar would just be interested in getting what he wants.
Hmm, well I should point out that when I say PG-13, I mean movies I consider to be such. The only difference is that I do not believe movies should be rated solely on violence. For example, I have seen the "Lord of the Rings," "Harry Potter," "Transformers," and even "Sleepy Hollow" but I do not consider them to really be so high in ratings as none of them have any cussing (except Potter and Transformers, and that is rather low) or any inappropriate scenes. They are only violent, which is a ridiculous reason to rate a film, in my mind. Then again, I rarely even watch violent movies, so I might not be the best judge of that. If it is not a cartoon I do not tend to enjoy it.

Hmm, I tend to stick to the cartoon movies as well, or ones based on them. I want to see Transformers since I have always been a fan of the show and the original movie. Of course, I also love movies based on books, since I am a complete book nerd, and where ever I move to get a job, I am so bringing books along. If I ever get a job at Disney, I will have to bring books to read in my little spare time I would have, since the other would be either working or just sitting in awe for working at Disney.

As for why me saying the becoming a wolf would be romantic for me, just because, well, that is my one dream far more then marrying or having children, although I know it will never happen. But ya, I don't know why they rate movies based on violence. However, 300 deserves it's rating of R, tons of blood and a inappropriate scene of which I closed my eyes and started muttering to myself.

But as Rafe from Blood and Chocolate says: "You know us romantics, we never give up".

And, other then those things, I will watch any movie based on fantasy or werewolves, within reason.

Evilshipping YES.

I love odd couples. I tell you, I'm in the yaoi fandom of stuff and what makes me cry is the lack of imagination with the fans. Probably if you ask any of them they will say there favorite couple is probably the most obvious in the series.

They both are very conniving villains. And around the same age. I think it WORKS! Of course this will not be love of the fluffy sort.

But that's cool how you think of these interesting, different couples. Are you writing a fanfic?

I probably have the most dirty mind out of all of you. But I won't go thereXD

Stuff is sometimes rated rather harshly.

*cackles* Imma gonna hunt down a part with both of them in it, and put up the screencap.

We should do a thing like "Far-fetched Disney couples that actually seem like they would work!" kinda thing here. Crossovers galore.

Hmph, indeed. Everyone loves romance between evil villains, it shows that even they have a human side... or in Maleficent's case a good witch side. (or fairy, depending on what canon you prefer. I personally dislike the idea that she is a "bad fairy" because it does not make since. Would Merryweather (the blue "good fairy" and the one I think would be closest to turning bad due to her temper) goes bad will she suddenly turn green, grow four feet, have her eyes turn yellow, and learn how to use magic with out a wand?... I think not.)
Indeed, to my mind the two are most likely in their early forties. (This is because Johnathon Freeman (Jafar) was 42 when he played him. Technically, Eleanor Audley (Maleficent) was 54, but there is no way I am going to make Maleficent fifty, I think she would be about 44.)
My thoughts exactly. While different, the two have a number of similarities, especially when it comes to being the perfect villain. After all, the two alternate between one and two in the Official Disney Top 30 Villain Poll every year and no other villain has even come close to the top two positions in years. However, you are correct, this will not be an easy, Disney Princess, true-love romance, though I do plan to keep it rather humorous and fun, at least for a good part of it. After all, this is Disney.
I am, my dear. I have written only one fanfiction before (that I completed or posted online as I have far too short an attention span to ever finish a story solo, without the assistance of other writers as there are in roleplaying) and the last was a single chapter one-shot, but this story has been praying on my mind for quite some time and I feel that this story is going to be an exception, as it is very interesting to me. I hope to have the first chapter of my fanfiction up by the end of the month (yes, month. Between work, my lack of attention, and my need for perfection a month is being lenient), but as of now I am having quite a bit of trouble. I have no idea how to start this little love story or what to call it.
That brings me to another subject, I will be needing all of your help on this one, if you can spare it. I need to know people are interested in this story or I myself will quickly lose interest all together, leaving this story another unfinished project to add to my mountain already accumulated. I also plan to ask you all for your input, opinion, or ideas as I progress and allow this thread to be a bit of a brainstorming center. I hope that this story will be able to get the members involved and entertain you in the spare time... Hmm, maybe we could even think of ourselves as Imagineers. Heh, now we have a good story and a good name.

I, my Prince, am interested in this one. And, now that I am thinking about it, our Disney polls, when they are finished, remember, you promised to let me help organize another set of them.

This is so awesome! (But can we have side couples? I mean, because obscure couples are fun!)

Make them in some sort of fight over a territory like a castle or an object of great power or something.

Once I get the time, I might draw a fanart of that too.

Well, actually, I was thinking I was going to work with a theme basis similar to my "Believe" Roleplay. My idea is that this story will be base in our time, after the films, and works on the premise that the characters know all about our world and that they are in cartoons, sort of like the way "House of Mouse" works. Hmm, have any of you seen "House of Mouse?" That would make this a lot easier. But anyway, basically they each have their own, little worlds, like Jafar and Agrabah, and Maleficent and... Sleeping Beauty's world, but they can also cross to our world or to the main Disney World (which would be where Mickey, Donald, Goofy, et cetera live and, for those of you who have seen it, where the "House of Mouse" theater is located.) This might be a tad confusing, I just realized, but I will try to work out the details. I just like this idea because it allows me free rain with all of the characters and lets me explain why the "Sleeping Beauty" characters and the "Aladdin" characters are interacting. Now, of course, this does not mean there is no fighting between the Heroes and Villains anymore, simply because no one dies or the movies or over. No, much like the take-over in "House of Mouse Villains" and "Fantasmic!", the Villains still try and take over all the time, but the Heroes just fight them back and then the Villains try something else and the Heroes fight them back again, as so on and so forth.
(And no, now that I read over it, that does not make any sense. I will try and make more sense out of all of this later, may be tomorrow, but I have to go now.)
Hmm, good idea. What other couples did you have any mind? I definitely plan on having some cameo of the Mad Hatter and Alice at least once.
Oh, that would be wonderful. I still look forward to seeing your art and would love to seeing a drawing of this disastrous, but brilliant, couple.

Quite right, my friend, quite right. I shall try and get to the polls tomorrow, but for now I must go. I apologize if these seems rushed, but, well, it is. I really have to got. Good bye.

What other couples? I would have to look at the list on Wikipedia of all Disney charas. I know there will be something good that wild imagination could produce.

But as I said already, this is a great idea~

Edit: I made the drawing! Sorry it's not great, it only took an hour to make, scan, and color it. I'll make a better one later.

If you're looking for modivation to actually write the story, I have an idea. How about a contest? You and I... each writing their own version of a Malificent and Jafar pairing, then creating a thread with a poll and seeing who could better write it out?

I think you'd win personally, but it'll give you some incentive and hell.. if I could whip up a good one... you'd have a story to read as a prize.
