Opener~ This is an RP that has long been in the works. Whenever I have gotten a chance to, I rework to get out kinks. However, note that it still might have a few kinks left in it, but hopefully as we RP it, they will work themselves out. Any questions, feel free to PM them to me. I hope that you enjoy what I have in store for you.
Introduction~ Welcome humans, listen to my tale. It may look like a simple chest on the outside, but it is a whole other past on the inside. Earth's alternate history. Getting here was a simple task, but getting back is a harder task that must be completed in order to get back to the world you know.
But, head this warning: You might get killed. Do not open this chest.
This world is not friendly to the enemies of your side. Should they catch you within their realm, you could, nay, will get sentenced to death by the King or Queen.
Two people who are sent there are the King or Queen of either Light or Dark. These people must end up working together. If not, the Earth as we know it will have no other history. This version will take over.

Rules~ 1- I am the creator of this thread. Do what I say, follow the rules. 2- Check the setting updates nearly everyday. I will be adding things quite often. 3- Please have a few sentences to a couple paragraphs per post. 4- Don't god-mod or power-play. 5- Don't jump in randomly, it throws off the beat of the RP. 6- Read all the posts before your own, do not just skim. 7- No premaid crushes or Mary-Sues. Love is earned, not given out right away. 8- It is very possible that the plot will continue to change. 9- Don't keep the spot light on you. It is shared, you are not the main character. 10- Submit all profiles to me, icey_paradise. 11- Follow Gaia TOS. PG-13 or UNDER. Absolutely no cybering. It is gross and illegal. 12- Use only one post to state everything you wish to say and wait for others to have a say. 13- No chat speak. Use complete sentences. NO ** for action. Use " " for speaking and ' ' for thinking or use italics. 14- I have the right to add rules as I see fit. 15- Don't mess with me, or test me in any way... I mean it. 16- Last, but not least, have fun, and be nice to everyone else, this is here to have a good time, and increase your RPing skills.

Facts about Larousa~
~This is Earth, but with a much different past/present/future. ~Only when someone opens the chest will the world be sent back to this alternate setting. ~Many sorts of creatures reside here. ~Everything is the same as Earth, season and weather wise. ~Magick is used for spells. incantations, and potions. There are limits to these. ~You can not use magick for love or death. ~Technology develops slower. (Think the technology as being that from around the 1850's). ~ Think that everything else is the same as it is now, just, minus the technology. So, basically, you are living in the past, but its alternate. ~Light and Dark never get along.
(More will be added as I see fit).

Setting~[Note: You do not have to incorporate this into your posts. This is just so you know what is going on. These are brief synopsis of what I will write as a post during the role play. It will always be in dark red.]Quote: July 19, 2007: After being startled by the flames, Jake takes off in a whole different direction and finds himself in an open field. Quote: July 19, 2007: Jake wanders through the forest after exiting the abandoned turret he had awoken in. He noticed he no longer had the chest in hand, but held the key. Now what was he to do? He thought back to his grandfather's story. Quote: July 15, 2007:
The weather is dark and stormy. The rain beats down onto the earth, lightning streaking across the sky. One boy, around 18 years of age wanders around his grandfather's study, going back to that one chest he was told about. He wanted to see if it works. Opening it, he was surrounded by a great flash, brighter than the lightning outside, and awoke in a strange land.
This weather is the same as when he left, except more extreme. The wind howls, and the candles that flicker on the walls give an eerie look to the rooms.

Accepted Characters: Dark~Played By: icey_paradiseName: Jesse Morrow Age: 17 Gender: Female Race: Human with demon intentions Light or Dark: Dark Appearance: With shoulder-length strawberry blonde hair and green eyes, she looks like your average girl. Average height and weight. Her normal garb is a button down black shirt and a mini black jean skirt. Some of her demeanor does look 'dark', her makeup and garb when she is negotiating. Personality: Stubborn and thick headed. She likes getting her way, all the time. She doesn't think twice about killing someone for going against what she wishes. But, if she does, she puts them in the dungeons for a long time. Biography: On 'Earth' she was a 'goody two shoes' who never did anything wrong. But on the inside, she was just evil, pure evil. She was sentenced to be the Queen of Dark when the chest was opened, and this is how she will reign. Until she is either killed or things get back on track and she gets her life back. Weapon: A handgun that she keeps holstered around her thigh for easy access, and to make sure it is well hidden. Noble or Peasant: Noble. She is the Queen of Dark. Played By: Scorp985 Name: Cole Scorpivius Age: 16 Gender: Male Race: Elf Light or Dark: Dark Appearance: Cole Scorpivius A young, stalwart, and fit man, Cole is a favorite amongst the ladies, but doesn't really take advantage of it. His silky black hair and vibrant yellow eyes make him a perfect 'Dark Knight', even if his personality may at times falter. Personality: Logical, in-tune with reality, and somewhat pessimistic. His ability to lead troops and kill enemies never lead him astray, but his heart does, at times, lead him in the 'wrong' direction. Generally believing he's in the right, and feeling coldly towards those who defy him, Scorpivius is never really a pain to have around, unless you're giving him silly orders. Biography: A dark past? No. Friendless? No. Shamed? No. His story is just like any other teenager's, just with a few portals into alternate realms thrown in. He grew up in a suburb of New Orleans, not a bad neighborhood, went through school with decent grades, always had friends, and never had any messy break-ups with a girlfriend. Unfortunately, in drastic situations, people tend to change. Not to say he became a bad person when being dropped into Larousa, but the dark side of him showed. Utilizing the powers he's been given is his sole priority, and he plans to follow through. That's all there is to it. Weapon: A small rapier is kept at his side, as is a vintage .357 revolver (think western movies). Cole can utilize any weapons necessary, and if he doesn't know them, he'll figure them out quickly. Noble or Peasant: Noble. A captain of her Majesty's armed forces, in fact, a Dark Knight.

Accepted Characters: Light~Played By: BlackMageLeah Name: Erika Ray Age: 11 Gender: Female Race: Fae - much like a fairy, but human sized, and capable of hiding her wings Light or Dark: Light Appearance: With long, silky blond hair and baby blue eyes, Erika is very much the epoch of innocence. Her skin is fair and delicate, and she is rather small for her age. With pink, rosy lips and long golden eyelashes, she gives the appearance of someone who will someday be very beautiful, but her slightly chubby cheeks and tiny body ground her to the look of sugary sweetness. Given that Erika is a Fae, she has fragile looking fairy-esque wings that she can choose to show or hide. These wings are much like a dragonfly's; they are a nearly transparent blue veined with silver. With these wings Erika is capable of flying short distances. Personality: Erika is, in a word, naive. She still believes that the world is inherently good, and that even evil people have goodness somewhere inside of them. She is rather childish, and considerably immature. However, she is fair and kind to everyone she knows, even if they don't treat her the same way. She is willing to help just about anyone with just about anything, for just about nothing. However, her selflessness more often than not proves to be her downfall, as she is quite gullible and easily manipulated. Her sugary sweet demeanor is often irritating to people, and to some she seems condescending. This is unintentional on her part, though, as royalty, she feels it is her responsibility to look after all her subjects, no matter how young or old. Biography: On 'Earth', Erika was very much your average sixth grader. With her head in the clouds and elaborate fantasies budding in her head, she would find it difficult to concentrate on school. Her mind was more often than not pretending she was a princess who could save the world, or planning her future as a leader who would lead the planet to long lasting peace. And when the chest was opened, that wish came true, if a bit indirectly. As the newly crowned Princess of the realm of Light, Erika was given the chance to put her ideals to the test in a war-ravaged version of her own world. Weapon: A plain, solid silver staff that is much heavier than it looks. Erika uses it like a weighted baton. However, if a small ring in the middle is twisted, a blade springs out of one end, turning it into a small-scale polearm. Noble or Peasant: Princess of Light Played By: Scorp985 Name: Kolon Whistlewind Age: 23 Gender: Male Race: Human Light or Dark: Light Appearance: Kolon (Casual Wear) Kolon (Battle-Ready) Personality: Selfless, ethical, and morally just, Kolon is one of the most respected soldiers in the realm, both for his chivalry and kindly manners, Kolon has never wronged anyone. He was raised that way, in the Kingdom of Light. Biography: Born and raised under the steed of royalty in the Kingdom of Light, and unknowing of the newcomers to the world that have been sucked in from the original 'Earth'. He is trained in the ways of a sword, extremely well, and is also rather fluent with a bow... The women think he's handsome, the men think he's respectable and modest; what more is there to like? Now, his only intentions are to save Princess Erika at all costs. Weapon(s): A silver rapier with a blessed hilt is his first, his main choice. Second is a bow and arrow, strung and fletched by priests of the realm. Firearms are very expensive, and sold from the West. He prefers conventional methods. Lastly, a large two-handed sword, which he uses mainly when storming the enemy's frontlines. Noble or Peasant: Noble Played By: Scorp985 Name: Vryn Nuefthal (Vah-rinn NOOF-tahl) Age: 24 Gender: Male Race: Wood Elf Light or Dark: Light Appearance: Vryn Personality: Casual, logical, and unless he's in combat, very laid back, Vryn is a perfect example of the average elf. Biography: Growing up in the Sacred Wood and joining the military at the age of sixteen, Nuefthal met up with Kolon, and the two became good friends. Now, he awaits the brink of war with his comrade, and seeks to kill the queen and end the terror that has been wrought across the world's surface. Weapon: Wielding a powerful longbow whenever he gets the chance, but favoring shortblades upclose, he's a deadly fighter. Not to mention his raw abilities at magical harnessing. Noble or Peasant:Neither. He's a lieutenant in the Army of the Sun, the elven division of the Light Kingdom's ground forces. (Closer to a noble.)

Other~
Jake is the narrator to the story, he will be making occasional appearances when I change his location. He is the key to getting 'Earth' back, but getting it back to how it should be... that resides within the role play now doesn't it?

Hi there, let me tell you about myself. My name is Jake, and my grandfather told me about this world that would have been earth, but was sentenced to eternity within a small chest. He holds the chest and the key to this other world.
Now, I'm a curious guy, and I couldn't help but investigate, so I just had to go find it...
Jake walked upstairs to his grandfather's study after making sure he was fast asleep. He shined the flashlight bulb on the different shelves until he found a small, what looked like, treasure chest. He picked it up, examining it as lightning flashes lit up the room, casting eerie shadows on the walls. He grinned and put the flashlight down.
Reaching into his pocket, he felt around for that little key he stole of his grandfather's key ring and placed it within the lock. "This is it," he grinned, turning the key and opening the chest.
Nothing but a bright white light. Had he died?
No.
Upon opening his eyes, he noticed he was on a stone floor, and the walls were covered in faint light. "It worked!" he said, laughing and dancing slightly. However, little did he know that by opening that chest, the whole world was brought over, and that no one would be able to return.
The chest was lost within the travel, hidden somewhere in either realm. Who will find it? Who will save Earth from Larousa?
Jake is the key that will open the chest. Find him, and the chest together, and you just might have a chance for survival.

Jesse awoke to a bright white light, one brighter than she had ever seen. But when she awoke, she found herself in a different room. She smelled moss in the air as well as the electric surge lightening gives off. Rubbing her eyes, she sat up in the bed, noting the four posts around it, and the stone of the room.
'Where the hell am I?' she asked herself, rubbing her throbbing temples.
She looked to the right of where she lay and noticed a scroll with a ribbon around it. Picking it up, she pulled off the ribbon and began reading what looked like an agenda or 'to do list'.
'I have got to be ******** dreaming.' She put the scroll down and lay back down, closing her eyes. If it was a dream, she would wake up in the morning, and everything would be the same. But, little did she know, that she was now the Queen to the realm of Darkness.

"It's morning already?" Erika mumbled, rubbing her eyes. "I thought I only went to sleep a little while ago..." Blinking blearily she sat up and rubbed her eyes and reached to her side. "Cirrus... where did I put Cirrus...?" Cirrus was her large, rather floppy teddy bear. "Oh! Here he is!" she said, plucking the bear off of the blanket and hugging it to her chest. It was then that her eyes finally began to register what was around her.
"W-what?! Where am I?" she exclaimed, jumping slightly. The bed on which she was sitting was plush and elaborate, and a curtained canopy hung over her head. It was indeed a sleeping place fit for a princess. Shocked, she looked down at Cirrus. Even he was different. The old, ratty red ribbon that had been tied around his neck was replaced with a crisp, new looking white bow. She jumped even higher when she heard an unseen door open.
"Your Highness, your breakfast is ready. Are you awake?"
Erika blinked once again in confusion, and stuck her head through the sheer curtains on the side of the bed. "Who, me?"
The newcomer - a lady-in-waiting, it seemed - blinked in return. "Yes, you, your Highness." She walked up to the girl. "Are you feeling alright, Princess Erika?"
"Huh?" Erika said blankly. Princess?! I must be dreaming. That's the only explanation. "Y-yeah, I'm okay..." She reached down to her arm and pinched it rather hard. "Ow!" she yelped. So maybe this isn't a dream!
Sliding off the bed through the opening in the curtains, she placed her tiny feet on a plush area rug spread over a cold, gray stone floor. "This is real!" she squealed, and grabbed the startled woman's hands. In excitement, be began to dance around in a circle, pulling the poor maid with her. After a few times around, she let go of the woman's hands and scampered over to a small nightstand she had located. Off of a cushion on it she lifted up a small circlet. It was encrusted with tiny diamonds and had a large gray pearl in the center. Giggling, she placed it on her head and turned back to the rather frazzled maid. "So, what's for breakfast today?"

Cole opened one eye, somewhat consequentially. He didn't seem startled at all to be in a dark room with mysterious scrolls and devious apparrel pinned against the walls.
Eh, a few more minutes of sleep and... Wait, what?
Thrusting his head forward in a phased state, he realized his bed had never been that comfortable. Where was he?
Pulling himself to a stand, he could see a black suit of armor, more or less ceremonial wear, placed conveniently beside the door, which in turn was very nice, as well.
"What the hell is going on...?" he grumbled, walking over to a mirror that was placed a few feet behind his nightstand. Black hair, yellow eyes, sixteen years old... everything looked...
"Wait, what the hell?!" Scorpivius suddenly exclaimed, touching the points of his ears. "I look like a ******** elf!"

Another clap of thunder shook her room, and made her bolt up in bed. Looking around again, she realized that she wasn't dreaming, couldn't be dreaming. She grumbled wearily and sat on the edge of the bed, feeling the sheep pelt below her feet. Her eyes cast down on the mysterious scroll again.
The wide oak door opened and in came an old, drabby looking servant. "Your Highness," he bowed slightly before standing up straight to deliver the rest of the message. She looked over at him, curiosity showing in her eyes. "You are needed in the throne room, some peasants have been found trespassing into your kingdom."
Ugh, what time is it? she asked herself, standing fully now and getting on the 'proper' attire. She grumbled and followed the servant out. Just do what they want, then you can do what you want she thought as she sat in a rather uncomfortable chair and started listening to the tales.
She didn't know what was coming over her as she sentenced them off to their deaths, but as soon as it started, it ended, and she was escorted into the main dining hall.
Your Highness? Servants? she pondered while taking a seat at the long table. What kind of world was she residing in? She shrugged it off and waited for the food to be served.

(throne* room... *wheez*)
There was a knock on the door, causing him to jump back startled.
"Wh-... who is it?"
"It is I, my lord, your royal servant Smedles."
"'Smedles'? Royal servant? What the hell are you talking about?"
"Oh dear, did someone poison your goblet with memory loss?"
"You can't poison someone's drink with memory loss..."
"Ah, but you must've forgotten, you can."
He pulled open the door and let himself in. It was a wart-covered little dwarf. 'Smedles'... what a stupid name.
"Your coat, sir," he said groggily, handing him a charred leather jacket.
"Erh... Thanks, Smedles."
"The queen awaits you in the dining hall."
"The queen? Dining hall?"
"Yes, my lord, the queen is in the dining hall, and she awa-..."
"I heard you, I heard you!" he snapped back, swinging the door open and wandering outside. Following a few corridors he found the great hall, and was pleasantly surprised to see a large feast before him, and a rather fetching queen.
Almost immediately, he took a seat at the opposite end of the table, and sat without touching the platters of food that adourned it.
"I'm guessing you are the 'queen'?"

[What are you talking about? 4laugh Its all fixed^^]
Jesse looked up from her seat when she was spoken to. She just shrugged and nodded, a grin playing across her lips. "Guess so." Even though I still have no clue what is going on here.
"Who might you be?" she stated, taking a sip of her water from the goblet placed near her plate. Slowly, her own memories of back home were vanishing. She thought nothing of it.
