Approximately two years ago, ArenaNet released the beta of a game that would later come to be one of the most popular MMORPGs played today. To begin with it consisted of one single campaign, a campaign that took players from the peaceful past in Ascalon into a tale of brutality and civil war that spanned out across the entire of Tyria. In this original campaign, players fought their way across the entire continent in an attempt to halt the Mursaat and the evil that ultimately sought to twist and manipulate them to his unholy means.
Suffering betrayal, heart ache and much more, the players' characters endured holy tests in order to prove their worth to the gods and even went so far as to kill themselves. Aided by unlikely and peculiar allies, they continued on their quest until at last the deed was done and the Lich Lord fell at the hands of a final few.
**********
Meanwhile, across the water on another continent known as Cantha, they two suffered inexplicable attacks and suffering. Rumours of an Imperial traitor and his return were rife. The name of Shiro Tagechi once again touched the lips of the citizens and caused the guards to take heed. With these rumours of return a plague spread across the Imperial City of Kaineng and threatened to wipe out the civilians on a far greater scale than could have been anticipated.
Once again, heroes were called to the aid of their land and embarked on a quest that would introduce them to gods, mighty dragons and magic that they barely even knew existed. It was through this magic that they would begin to understand that in order to defeat this foe...they would have to use it too. Using the aid of the dead, the fallen heroes of the passed and the celestial magic of Kuunavang they too attacked with all their might.
With the coming of a second Jade Wind, there was no time to lose and Shiro Tagechi found himself seriously overwhelmed by the power of the will that each hero embodied.
**********
However, it was on the final Continent of Istan that the truth was revealed. These disturbances had an explanation that one individual in particular was hiding... Encouraging those around her to fight, Kormir led a battle against the villainous 'Varesh' and her rebels. Baited on by the threat of an approaching 'Nightfall' the Sunspears and their allies fought hard to protect not just Istan but the entire world as well.
These battles would lead them through war torn territory, they would lose friends and make many sacrifices. During their battles they would meet demons equal to the Mursaat in power and would ultimately face off against old foes.
Under the guidance of the gods, the heroes fought against one foe after another until they finally reached the 'evil' behind everything. Abaddon, in a mighty battle was slain and purged from the world...but not without a price.
It was in these moments that the truth was revealed, the woman that had led the heroes to their fate had also been responsible for releasing the beast as well.
**********
Once again peace has descended upon the three lands following the battles of the great heroes and yet, it seems heroes can never rest. Far in the north, where the Charr live their lives, exists another greater evil...deep below the surface.
And so, the heroes must take up arms again...

::[The Game]::Guild Wars is an MMORPG that plays through a set of three storylines across three vast continents. Players have the choice of choosing to play through the Roleplay chapters in which they level a character from the beginning of the tale, to the very end. Or, they can choose to select a PVP based character for pure combat purposes.
Guild Wars is an extremely competitive game with high emphasis on Player Versus layer combat. This can be seen through the multiple locations in which PVP can take place:-
[-] Random Arenas [-] Hall of the Heroes [-] Guild Battles [-] Alliance Battles [-] Faction War Fare Alongside this, the game incorporates a number of features to involve the players more in the campaign. ANet frequently provide updates to the games, enabling players to enjoy festivities at certain times - such as Christmas, Halloween and so forth. They also provide titles to mark the achievements of players who have completed the game to a certain 'point'.
While not quite as large as World of Warcraft in size, the tactics and game play employed within this game enable it to rival any other in terms of enjoyment.
With the next expansion introducing approximately eighteen dungeons into the world, it is expected that the world of Guild Wars will extend to a much greater size than was previously anticipated.
