I know I'm not a member here, but I've asked alot of people about this and no one else seemed to have any answers, so I fount this guild...Sorry.
I've been experiencing emotional highs and lows for a long time lately, so I finally decided to look into it. I went to Ask.com and searched diagnosing depression and diagnosing bipolar disorder. With the self diagnosises they had, now I'm almost sure I have manic depression and/or bipolar disorder II. I don't know what to do now. Should I call some sort of doctor to find out, or assume that it's true because I have about 90% of the symptoms? Is this really bad? Do I need pills or "electroconvultion therapy" like the website suggested? I'm so confused...I've already been almost forced into therapy, and I still don't know if I should go or not. The site said I should "contact a health care provider immediately"...

If you're worried, Definately talk to a doctor.
I haven't heard of any bipolar people complaining about their electroconvulsion therapies. O-o Don't worry. That won't happen to you.
But yea. Talk to your doctor. Tell him you think you are bipolar and why. Ask questions, Yadda yadda. Good luck.

Online diagnostic sites aren't all that accurate from my experience, but oddly enough, thats what I went to when I first started wondering if I was bipolar. The best thing for you, honestly, if you're wondering whether or not your Bipolar is a psych, or even your family doctor. My family doctor refferred me to a good psych, and put me on some meds. I just told hom how I was feeling and I got a psych. In retrospect, it wasn't as hard as I had thought it would be, and it ultimately helped me, as I got meds and a good sounding board for when I'm in my angry ranting moods(the psych). Talk to your doctor about this-It'll help, really!

That's what I've been going through also, but I think mine is a stupid way to get angry/sad about. Ask.com I've took some tests too >.> But it's not really high, rather in the middle I guess.

I'd say definitely go to the doctor. You won't necessarily need to get any meds or anything. My mom once suggested I go on meds for it, but I refused, and I'm fine.
