Do NOT discuss the book in ANY OTHER THREAD... ...unless you say DH SPOILER in the title. Doing so will cause you to be banned. Read the updates for more information.
Feel free to say anything you want about the book here.
I do not suggest reading through this thread if you have not finished DH yet.
I do not care if you censor your spoilers here as I'm pretty sure that there are things people want to just blurt out.
Remember what I said about keeping this in the thread.
If I see a single thread titled "XXX Dies!" the author will be banned without any second thought. (when I say XXX I mean to litterally say the name, as in Hedwig Dies!")
And I am only taking up space in this post just incase someone is being an idiot and opened this thread when they haven't read the book.
So, here's a proper warning: DH SPOILERS! DH SPOILERS! DH SPOILERS!
Do NOT read if you have not finished Deathly Hallows!
DH SPOILERS! DH SPOILERS! DH SPOIlERS! Go ahead and post now.

Wow, so it seems like my hopefulness was just utterly crushed by this one. I liked it, of course... but I really got upset over what they did to Lupin.
I always thought he was going to die, but it made me cringe when I found he'd married Tonks, and I almost wanted to put the book down when he said she was having a baby. I wanted to put it down because I've started so many fanfictions like that and haven't been able to read them. Remus/Tonks, not my favourite thing in the world. sweatdrop
And he didn't even get a death scene! Goyle (or Crabbe) even got a death scene, with Remus and Tonks... it was just like "Oh look, bodies."
Sorry, I have to say that when Lupin said "I made a mistake in marrying Tonks..." my heart skipped a beat and I wondered "because you secretly love Sirius?" sweatdrop
Although I liked the rest of the story in general, a lot of movies and books were semi-copied I thought. Like Men In Black, The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. Anyone else feel like that?
Since no one else has posted here yet, I'm wondering if anyone else has finished it?

I hated/loved it.
I mean parts of it were wonderful and others were shite.
Remus and Tonks did everything too fast but then it's like.... TEDDY! Colour changing Remus baby!!!
Still a wolfstar shipper though!

Great book! Awesome!
Two of my three favorite characters died though... crying Remus and Fred. I cried so hard when Fred died...but it didn't do as much for Remus, probably because there was no death scene. But like Mokey and I said, Remus would probably have been better of to die...he'd be with his old friends again. So now all the Marauders are dead.
I'm sad Snape died...but I just KNEW he was still good! heart xd I knew he was also somehow in love with Lily, it just seemed like it. And all the lies of Dumbledore...wow. Crazyness.
I'm not that upset about Tonks/Lupin...although when I read him say "I made a mistake in marrying her", I did for a moment think he was going to say it was because of Sirius, but then I saw that he was just concerned about the werewolfness. Just curious, was Victoire supposed to be Bill and Fleur's daughter or something in the end with Teddy Lupin?
I'm glad Bellatrix died. That b***h deserved it. I burst out laughing when Molly shouted "NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU b***h!!!" I seriously didn't believe what I was reading for a moment. rofl
I had the feeling Harry was a horcrux, but I'm glad it didn't kill him. I also liked the fact they named their kid after Albus and Severus. And that he married Ginny.
Overall it was great. Couldn't put it down. heart

I loved it! I must say that this book almost claims the PoA's title as the best in my world. The only reason I still have PoA outweigh it though, is that there's even more Sirius and Remus in PoA. XD
The deaths were depressing. Especially Hedwig and Dobby, those touched me. Fred's death was devastating and Remus' was soooo depressing, but I'm sure he's happier now. I mean, let's face it, his life sucked.
When Tonks died though, I couldn't help but think of SB. ( Poor, poor dead Tonks. )
I actually was very heartbroken when I found out how Regulus died. I have found myself becoming more and more fond of him over the past two weeks, and when I read that, it was SO SAD!!! T-T
I loved how Neville finished of Nagini. That was one of my favorite parts of the book. God, I love Neville!
Snape's story really gave me chills. I was totally shocked when I found out about the doe! That was just...amazing! His death was rather sad. Being bitten in the neck would be no fun at all, and he didn't even need to die!
I despised the Remus/Tonks-ness! I've always hated that pairing (even before I became a wolfstar shipper) and it was just...grr! My heart skipped a beat when I read "I made a mistake in marrying her," as well! And then he just has to go and be all like...OMG!!BABYLOLZ!!!! rolleyes
Stupid Tonks and her stupid liking Remus behavior! He deserves better! T-T
...overall, great story. Absolutely wonderful!!!
Of course, I'm sad it's over...but...at least it ended nice!
(I knew Remus was dead before it said it though...because earlier Tonks is told that Remus is fighting Dolohav and when Harry goes down the stairs, he sees Dolohav fighting some students. sad Did anyone else notice that? )
And no...I didn't feel that way, Kilope. confused

Sorry, but I can back it up! I swear (the whole, claiming it copies other stuff...)
Like for Men In Black, there's that alien that kills that farmer and lives inside his decomposing skin... a lot like Nagini living inside that historian (ugh! Already forgetting her name. sweatdrop )
And Lord of the Rings with the whole horcrux necklace, and not to mention the end with all the children and all of Harry's had names of people very dear and important to him. (Of course, the children are only in the book of Lord of the Rings... not the movie.)
The train station just gave me Matrix flashbacks to when Neo is waiting for the Train Man to take that girl with him.
And my friend mentioned Star Wars.
I had a feeling Peter would be strangled to death, I just never thought he had the nerve to do it himself.
I think it may be because of the movie, but I'm slowly becoming more and more intrigued by Bellatrix's character. Although I really do suspect it's just because you actually SEE her in the movie, before then I never thought about her character.
And I agree with you, about Regulus. I always liked him, in fact I made him into a Sim and put him in an adorable little cottage with a nice girl just to try and... I don't actually know. xp But yeah, I liked him once I read that RAB letter. And I felt really depressed when I learned how he died.
Did anyone else get the feeling Snape was in love with Lily before reading it? I did but my friend asked me how I knew and I can't remember where I got that impression from... anyone know? sweatdrop

Ah...you DO have a point... >.>"
Then again, inspiration does come from copying other things. 3nodding
Yes, I liked Regulus more once I read the letter too. I guess I never really really liked him until recently though. (and yes, that repeat does make sense, so XP)
I had that impression too...I dunno how though. confused

Gonna start out by posting my general feeling about the book like everyone else...
Great book. It was excellent...! I was almost afraid of reading it at first (i thought HBP was a bit of a disappointment) but i couldn't put it down xD i was constantly, "OMG NO! NOOO!" and "That isn't possible!!!" so many twists and turns. One of the few books that actually kept me on edge.
Dumbledore. Wow. The entire book I tried to keep neutral about the whole situation but in the back of my mind i honestly couldn't believe what i was reading. Dumbledore keeping his sister locked inside the house? Dumbledore wanting to put muggles under wizard rule? I thought it was a great addition to the entire story, finding out the truth about Dumbledore. I always saw him as this kind, powerful, all-knowing kind of guy but really he's just like everyone else with his own set of problems and faults. It was very interesting.
The deaths threw me off. I really didn't think most of the characters J.K. killed off were going to die. Fred, Dobby, Remus, Tonks, Moody... I never even thought they were going to die. Remus and Tonks had just had a baby, George was already missing an ear, Dobby was the only house elf who believed in freedom... I suppose it just makes their deaths harder to believe o:
Bellatrix... I wanted Rudolphus to pop out of no where and finish her off >.> i mean... come on, Bellatrix was too caught up in Voldemort to even notice her husband. I was surpised he was even mentioned in the book at all XD
I've always had this fantasy that Regulus and Sirius always kind of got along... but Regulus's part made me content. felt kind of bad for him and Kreacher...
The Snape/Lily bit was kind of expected... ( I'm one of those people who hunts down all the theories and odd-pairings and the more Snape/Lily came up the more it made sense...) but I was a little surprised to find out they knew each other even before they came to Hogwarts. I started snickering to myself when I found out about the patronus XP
Thought Remus was going to admit his love for Sirius as well... -cough-
When I was reading the book and Harry, Ron, and Hermione were breaking into Gringotts i was like, "We're over halfway through the book and they're only on the cup...?!" but I thought the book was very well-paced and they got the Horcruxes just in time 3nodding
Woot for Neville. He's definitely come a long way from the little cowardly klutz he was back in book one :]
Uhh. I'm sure i had more to say but my brain just died. Let's stop here for now >.>;

I've never been a Remus/Tonks fan. Never.
The first time I read that, I was like, "You've GOT to be kidding me!" rolleyes

I thought that he was going to say something about Sirius.
I hated the idea of them being together but I couldn't help but smile at how happy Remus was when Teddy was born, I mean I don't think we've ever seen him that happy in the whole series.
I don't like Tonks and Remus being together but I can't begrudge her giving them Teddy. Too cute.
I loved Regulus's story. I knew he was good really!
Oh and Lily/Severus has been one of my favourite pairings for aaages. Did anyone else remember when Snape was teaching Harry occlumency and in one memory a girl was laughing as he tried to mount a broom? I reckon it was Lily.
