One of my main things with writing is that I create the characters before I write my stories. I have no problem creating the characters, but sometimes I have no luck with picking out names. I'll have an entire back story planned out, but no name. I only have 1 book of names and a couple sites, but that's it. Can anyone tell me where I can go to find names for my characters? Sites or book suggestions with names of any race would be perfect.

np anytime. I found it hard to make up names too, i usually use common names, but its hard.

I suffer from the same problem. What I do is make a long list of names and choose one randomly. As your story progresses and you understand more about your character the perfect name will come to you. Who knows, it could end up being the one you picked out in the first place. :]
