Go to "My Gaia" and click "Account."
Look to the top where it says: "Change options related to your account. Other options which haven't been migrated to the new profile system are also available. These include changing your username and birthday"
Click available and realize, that you can only change your username and avatar gender twice.
So make it meaningful and make sure you won't regret it.
