Pant... pant... pant...
The wind rushed through Slaith's hair as he darted from one water-covered street to the next, his fluff flattened by the pouring rain.
"Drake, you still with me?"
"Yeah..." he replied, out of breath. "I'm still here..."
He stopped abruptly behind a wall as a patrolling officer drove past, siren blaring. The two caught their wind again.
"Where's Ravanna?"
"I don't ********' know, man! I think we lost her back in the riot."
"Damn it! Your bat still in shape?"
"Yeah, why?"
"'Cuz if we don't get the ******** out of here in about ten minutes, we're screwed."
"Right. Then haul a**!"
Kryxen sprinted off again, closely followed by his friend. His knuckles hurt really bad... six cops dead by his hands, and bloody fists to show for it.
"Dude," Draconis called to him from about six feet away, "They called in the ******** SWAT teams, man! The Outlanders are done for!"
"That's why we're leaving, remember? But we have to go get Rava-..."
"SCREW your sister, man, this kind of s**t is gonna get us capped!"
He stopped dead in his tracks once again, and sighed. "You're right... She'll be fine, let's just go."
But no, it wouldn't be that easy. An armored car was headed right for them.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Slaith awoke with a start, panting and rubbing his head.
"Yo, what's up, man? You looked like you were dying over there."
"Sorry, Drake..." the ex-gangster replied, shaking his head. "Bad dream."
"Right, well, we're here. So hop out." He nodded, and stepped out of the car. The academy... friggin' huge, compared to what he was used to. People from all over the world, coming to train themselves in every form of art known.
"What dorm number you got?"
"Umm... Three."
"s**t, man, I got eight."
"You know who you're bunking with?"
"They told me, but I forgot."
"Teh, all I remember is that it's a girl."
"A chick? Dude, is she hot?"
"Never met her."
"Well, you better ******** hope she's hot, man..."
Slaith chuckled, and opened the door for both of them to step inside. It'd been a long way from Nelvsk, and he was relieved to finally be at his new home.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Drake."
"K, later Slaith."
The Outlander pulled open his dorm's door, and tossed the keys on the table. Destiny hadn't gotten there yet, and he really didn't know what to think about the whole situation. His room was much nicer than he'd been used to all his life, and his first instinct lead him to throwing himself over the bedspread.
"Ahhh..." he muttered, "Comfy."

Walking though halls, Caz had spotted some unusaual looking people. One that caught his attention was a gangster-looking fellow, who looked about 18. Caz had been to the accademy the previous year, not being very surprised about it, because his parrents also went to it, and described it to him.
"Let's see... dorm... Five!"
Caz said, as he found the door to his dorm, and opened it slowly.
(Ah... This place is sooooooooo... cozy...)
Caz thought when he looked around and sank into a chair.
"Well, I'd better get relaxed..."

Destiny's parents dropped her off up front, and looked at her through sad tired eyes. She just smiled and gave both of them hugs. "I'll be fine," she promised, opening the trunk to grab her belongings.
Ever since the store went bankrupt, her family had been doing anything they could to save some money. This was one of those things. All her life, she had been going to an all girl's boarding school. So, this was a new setting for her. She turned back and waved as her parents drove off and out of site, back to their new life.
She took a deep breath and headed in, dragging her bags behind her. A small piece of paper was tucked in her hands and she opened it, reading the room number. 'Room number three huh?' she asked herself, finding the room. Pausing outside the door, she took the key out and opened it, finding where to put her belongings. Once she found the bedroom, she saw that it was occupied by another form.
"Hi," she muttered, shyly and nervously.
A lone figure stood facing the academy, she pulled her sunglasses down from her face and sighed. This would be a big change for her, but she would do anything for her father who was being shunned back at home. She blew a bubble from the bubble gum she was chewing and started towards the building. The only thing she carried with her was a small knapsack of a few personal belongings.
But the one that she treasured most was around her neck. It was a 'dog' tag from her boyfriend when he died during war. She loved him so much. She growled slightly as she found the room she was to stay in, but she went in anyway.
"Hey you," she said to the other, and went into the bedroom, claiming one of the beds.

Slaith didn't look up, at first.
Moment of truth... he pondered, slowly turning his head to face her, and almost wanting to leap backwards. s**t, she is hot!
"Erm... Hi," he replied simply, with a light wave. "Slaith," the cat said, flicking his tail and pulling up his shades.

Destiny smiled shyly. "I'm Destiny, guess we're roomies?" she said, and started putting her things away.
She wasn't too sure about rooming with a guy, but changes were need to be made. The thought was pushed from her head as she pushed her empty bags under the bed and sat on the edge.
Seeing as she didn't really know what to say, she just sat there, rubbing one of her arms. She just hoped he would say something to break the silence. It was making her slightly uneasy.

"I suppose."
He was still in a state of surprise... what were the odds he'd be dormmates with someone of her stature? Very small, very small.
He sat at the table as well, sliding a pencil between his fingers nimbly.
"So... I guess we should get beds and cabinets sorted out, shouldn't we?"

"Well, um, by the looks of things, it looks like the beds are already taken care of," she giggled slightly. "As for the cabinets, I don't know, just... leave the kitchen alone, okay?" she asked. That was one of her favorite hobbies, cooking, and she liked things neat and orderly.

"Done and done," he shuddered, "I can't cook for crap."
Slaith stood up and rustled his fur.
"By the way, what's your opinion on music?"
He couldn't help but ask it, playing the guitar was one of his main hobbies, and he intended to keep it that way. Getting rusty with an instrument that took him years to figure out? Uh, no.

She shrugged slightly and lay down on her back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. "I don't hate it as long as its not crap," she stated, crossing her arms under her head just to give it a bit of a lift. "Where are you from anyway?"

He shrugged.
"Fair enough."
Kryxen took a seat on his own bed, looking at her with curious eyes. He couldn't help but wonder where she was from, as well.
"Vacinnium, unfortunately. Backstreets. And you?"

Destiny didn't seem to be quite keen on that idea, but didn't show it. "The other side of the city. Not as far as you have traveled, but probably the same amount of changes."
She didn't move from her spot, just started at the ceiling, wondering how her friends back home were.

He sighed.
"So you grew up near here, then... That's lucky enough. I actually came here running from my past. Did some bad things."
Slaith shook the thoughts from his mind, and started asking himself why he'd told her that. Generally, you don't want to be in a dorm with criminals... Maybe it'd just been because he'd dreamed about 'The Outsiders' Heist', the one that had made his gang famous. An attack on a military convoy, stealing their munitions and arms.

She shrugged again, "Maybe." She sighed, "well, I guess we are just going to have to get used to this new lifestyle then, huh?" she asked, and went to a stand.
"I'm going to make some food, want any?" she was heading towards the kitchen. She had been unable to eat that morning, there were major butterflies in her stomach and she was ready to throw up. But, now that she was here, she was finally able to come to terms with what was going on and the butterflies died down enough to where she could grab something to eat.

Finally, someone who just doesn't ask...
He stretched out his arms.
"Erm, yeah, sure. What do you plan on making...? And did you bring everything you need with you?"
What kind of freak loves cooking so much? Ugh, I hate it!
