Well, I suppose since I have some spare time on my hands, that I'll make a journal for Lionheart, my Koivu. The journal will be told from my(The owner's), point of view.

It had been a long few weeks before I strode into The Koivu shop. I had spent most of them on missions, being that I've been a fighter-for-hire. However, I now had some time off of my job, and realized that I was a bit lonely, and was in need of a sparring partner for my boxing. I came to the shop in search of a pet, companion, and student. Once I looked upon the kits up for sale, I saw one who seemed to have a strange similarity to myself. It was a large, male kit, who was white and black, with red eyes, and a Yin & Yang mark on his chest. His appearance matched my mask. However, appearance paled in comparison to personality. I reached over to the kit, only to see it petrified , pressing itself against the wall. It was probably that I was new to him, and I looked so different from the shop owners. I shrugged, and turned my view to his sister. Suddenly, the male kit had a bold streak, putting himself between myself and his siter, making an attempt to growl at me. It was the look in his eyes at that moment that convinced me of his worthiness as a fighter. I looked to him, and named him Lionheart, which was very contrary to his personalty, but matched the way he acted in protection of his sister. I payed Nurse Trixie at the desk, and looked upon the kit that I had purchased. I decided that I would turn this koivu from a shivering hairball to a prized fighter.

Although Lionheart seemed rather frightened at first, I bumped into a koivu named Kappy, and her owner, Roar. Kappy comforted Lionheart, calming the kit down as I spoke to Roar. She was nice, and tried to reach out to me, but I refused. In my line of work, secrecy is manual.

Roar and I ran into a girl who was very familiar with koivu, by the name of Anrea. She explained to us a story of how the koivu were once subject to genoscide by a strange demon, who was eventually slain. She also told me of an ancient Koivu city. I wish to go there, and take Lionheart along as well. We could both learn quite a few things there.

I've begun Training Lionheart these past few mornings. He started out sloppy, but he's been getting better, and slowly building up stamina. I wonder if this is the same way my master viewed me so many years ago. I decided to let him have a little fun today, so we met up with Roar and Kappy in the Gambino Isles. i'm glad that we've gone, since Kappy taught him how to swim. Swimming is a very useful skill, and should be taught to all.

Lionheart has finally grown into the figure of a youth. He's tall and lanky for a koivu, but his odd balance could be used as an advantage. Anyway, Lionheart never spoke as a kit. Now, he seems to talk up a storm. I don't know why, but he's grown up a bit cocky, thinking he's the greatest thing since Elvis. I have tried to teach him modesty, but Lionheart clearly has other intentions. His performance in training has improved, however. I believe Lionheart is well on his way to becomming my partner in missions

Hah, I'd forgotten about this little journal. So much has happened since my last entry. Where should I start...

A turning point in Lionheart's entire development happened late in his youth. He was beaten by Yuki's koivu, Moonstrike, in a duel. He took the loss horribly, having considered Moon to be inferior to himself. Moon fought the fight to prove herself, however, while Lionheart fought to put her down. sometimes, intention can make all the difference.
I decided it was time to usher him into adulthood by teaching him how to lose and win like an honorable warrior.
I took him to a Navajo reservation, where my friend, Terry Black Elk, readily awaited our arrival. It was there that I trained Lionheart to become a warrior.
Eventually, Lionheart grew into adulthood, and filled out. He lost his arrogance, and grew into modesty. He became more calm, and began to think before acting. My goal has been reached, as Lionheart has become a fellow merc. Since his growth, I've taken him to Afganistan, Iraq, Bolivia, Indonesea, Northern Ireland, Sierre Leonne, North Korea, the Ivory Coast, and many other locations where my clients wish my to go.
Lionheart has no thumbs to hold a gun or a sword, but his telepathic powers come in handy in tight spots, and his sense of smell is unparralleled.
Lionheart has recently left to return to the Black Forest, while I am here, in Burma. He doesn't know why he is leaving, but I do. He is searching for a mate. All other gender-based life-forms feel the need to do it. He does as well. And I think I know whom he's sought out.....

Tqo days ago, I recieved word that Lionheart had mated with Moon, and that the two had Kits.Three boys. I felt a sense of pride in my koivu, but I won't admit it to him. I fear it will go to his head. Moon looks to be a good mother, however. If anyone could make sure the kits grow up right, it would be her. I secretly salute them as parents.
