Saryli's character graduated earlier than others her age at the mage school because she was top of her class. Her grandparents abuse her verbally and her mother had just given birth to her new baby sister, Ilyra. Saryli couldn't take the name calling anymore, so she ran away from home and found herself in the capital of Nygree, Divorxa. While she was admiring the sites, a large, seemingly old, man got angry at her for not moving.

He was about to attack her with his sword when Flame 'saved' her with a performance.
Although Saryli was rather hoping to deal with the situation herself, she still thanked the performer.

Flame is a traveling performer who had traveled to Divorxa. And by the way, he's a bit full of himself, thinking he's one of the most famous performers. I guess we'll have to test him on that one, now won't we?

*ahem* Moving on, after Flame's little 'show' Dergan showed up and seemed a little angry about Flame's tactics.

Dergan is of an unknown profession, although by reading his first few posts you could probably guess what it is. He had been passing through Divorxa looking for work when he stumbled upon the scene.

He was about to save the girl himself before Flame had begun to deal with it. Dergan found them an inn to stay at, got the girl, Saryli, a room there and ordered them all drinks. Flame performed a really cool trick for Saryli at her request. While just chatting amongst themselves, a serving girl spilled a tray into Saryli's lap. After that little incident, the poor girl was fired from her job.

Ceridwen is a young ex-serving girl. Her sister was in danger by an unknown woman who was looking for a girl whom she called "Wind'helm". The woman had forced it upon Ceridwen to find the girl because of Ceridwen's odd talent for being able to look at someone and somehow discern whether they were of importance or not.

Not long after Ceridwen was fired, she was sitting and talking with the group as well, when suddenly Saryli was screaming with pain. Water had begun to flow from her eyes and was creating a large puddle at her feet. Ceridwen finally found a solution to the problem, she knocked Saryli in the head, causing her to fall unconscious. Flame brought Saryli up to her inn room while Ceridwen ran out the door. Dergan had noticed the girl leaving just in time for him to follow her. When he did, he witnessed Ceridwen talking to the unknown woman I spoke of earlier. The woman had killed Ceridwen's sister, being distraught with this grief and anger of the woman not keeping her promise, she decided not to tell the woman that she had found her "Wind'helm". The woman was about to kill Ceridwen herself when Dergan slipped into the shadows and killed the woman first. He then took the girl back to the inn to question her and found out about the little information Ceridwen had on the woman.

While this was happening, in Saryli's room she began to move about in her bed. After a few moments, lumps appeared on top of where her shoulder blades were. Eventually, those lumps broke out of her dress, revealing themselves to be white wings.

Dergan and Flame decided they would need a plan to get her out of the city. They were arguing a bit about it in the inn common room. Flame wanted to use his sound magic to distract the entire city and then while they were all on the ground in pain, they would then run to the docks and board a ship which would have no crew, just the captain on it, and they would then flee to Hanakaipo. Dergan was a bit skeptical about this plan, but didn't say much before Bara stepped into the inn.

Bara is a female performer. She and Dergan have some kind history but that is still unknown. Bara claims to be in the city looking for her lost pupil who she suspects to have gone and gotten herself pregnant.

While they are sitting and chatting, Saryli comes down from her room, having just had a strange dream about her father who continued to speak an unknown language. When Saryli starts speaking to them, it is in this weird language that she had the dream about. No one can understand her so she attempts to use sign language. Everyone is a bit shocked at seeing her because her wings have suddenly disappeared. She finally is able to communicate to them that she was asleep and when she woke up, they were gone. Dergan decides to go to bed, making Saryli do the same, which leaves Bara and Flame alone to talk.

While Flame and Bara are talking, Anya, Bara's apprentice, comes into the same inn. Bara spots her and catches her, not letting her get away again, (Anya is indeed pregnant). When Saryli woke the next morning she was determined to steer her new friends into going to the mountains with her. She tried writing out her idea, but it turned out that she couldn't talk or write in common. Also, that morning Anya tries to escape from Bara, but fails. The two have an heartfelt talk, turns out Anya was raped. *sniffle*

Anyways, deciding a different approach, Saryli draws mountains on the parchment, Bara is the one to figure it out. She convinced her new party to travel to the Mountains with her. While they were still discussing this, a man crashed through the door to the inn. This is where Kain makes his appearance.
