SILVER(???)
Coincidence?
Conspiracey?
Artists just getting really lazy?
Note how their pose is exactly the same.
...Down to the angle of the feet.
Other similarities to note:
Shinji: Releases anything he thinks is too weak.
Silver: Loathes anything he thinks is too weak. (wants all the weak to be destroyed) [in the game]
Shinji: Treats his Pokemon without compassion. (as though they were tools)
Silver: Treats his Pokemon as if they were only tools for fighting. (that is until he gets his a** handed to him by Lance)
(plus they both have those triangle shaped eyes that make them look like they are from DBZ and random fugly pants that are a completely diffrent color then the rest of what they are wearing for no reason ninja )
NEW SIMILARITIES ZOMG
Shinji: Gets PWNed by champion
Silver: Gets PWNed by champion
Shinji: Has ursaring, Murkrow, and Weavile on his team
Silver: (manga wise) Has Ursaring, Murkrow, and Sneasel on his team (you gotta assume it will evolve though in a later arc)
Plus, both their hometowns are a base for "evil" groups. This is probably for a different reason though, as Silver is Sakaki/Giovanni's son while Shinji, well, we have no confirmation over who his parents are.
The difference? Silver actualy looks good.

the 'thats the same pose' thing really cant be used as a way to say that they look alike or anything. That is a comont pose used by anime and manga artists when they do character sketches and are designing things like clothes or other accessories. Other than that, I think they share some similarities ('cept ['Shinji' right?] doesnt have the cute girl to be paired up with. unless you count Hikari, but I think she belongs with Zoe, or her blonde rival in the games)

xd Silver is infinitely better isn't he? Other differences include that Silver/Anyone would be a hot couple. He also reminds me off the guy I like, but that has nothing to do with anything. redface sweatdrop

I like Paul since theres actually a rival that defeated Ash flawlessly a few times. I stil likel Gary as the rival though.
But still Silver > Paul

Yeah, I've noticed this too. In fact, a lot of people have already.
This used to effect my opinion on Paul, but I've learned to accept him and he is now my favourite Pokemon anime character. :3
