NAME Koray [KOH-ray] GENDER Male AGE [Chronological] 39 [Physical] Nearly 26 RACE Ejderha HOMETOWN Filela OCCUPATION Song writer, singer, artist. APPEARANCE Koray is a very strange boy. He appears nearly feminine, and hates to be forced to do anything manly. His body greatly suggests this in his slim, slightly curvy figure. He has long hair, to his middle back and silver as moonlight. His hair is very soft and shiny, he enjoys spending his free time brushing and playing with it, putting it up and down and tying ribbons and the like into his long tresses. His face is elegant and gentle in appearance, he has soft peach colored lips and light, airy eyes. His eyes are light-hearted and gentle, and appear a gentle shade of emerald. He is rather pale, and is quite prone to blush or any temperature change appearing in his face. His horns and wings match his eyes, however they appear more brilliant then his gentle eyes. His horns are medium sized, about the length of an open hand, and they come to sharp points at the end. They gleam the color of non-metallic emerald and have silver trimmings along the bottom. His wings are matching in nearly perfection, his wings are a pretty color of emerald and are medium-sized, however are very thin in comparison to his siblings. Thick, healthy wings usually run in his rather prestigious family, however his were not so blessed. They are slightly thinner, leaving them more prone to tears, etcetera. Unfortunatly, along with this disability, comes the burdon of Koray's inability to fly. His wings are just far too weak to hold the weight of a full-grown, even though small, Ejderha man. Although many people think this is a huge disability, he never was keen on using them much anyway. The tips of his wings gleam a shining silver that contrasts against the non-metallic wings that appear leathery and come to slight points where the first bending joint is. He wears eyeglasses to enhance his close-up vision, although they are not entirely necessary. Koray has very slim, feminine legs and arms, and when shirtless you can see that he is not muscular in the slightest bit, however he is so thin you can kind of see the definition of his muscles and bones. He always wears boots. Depending on the location, they can rise anywhere from above-ankle to knee are almost always worn over his pants, unless they are low rise. When at home and/or in private, Koray dresses rather casually and comfortably with normal, non-regal clothing. He enjoys dressing up, often choosing intricate laces and fabrics to tie himself up in. He really loves corsets, and wishes he had a girlier figure to fit into one properly. When he was younger he kind of wanted to be a fashion designer, often helping his older sisters with their clothing. He thought it was very interesting, the way you could tie fabrics together to make them form into shapes that compliment bodies. He always wears his rings, one on his right hand ring finger which is silver with a green heart in the middle, and a matching one on his left hand that is green with a silver heart in the middle. He is saving the one on his left for his future lover. He also wears silver locket around his neck, heart-shaped, that holds small, sepia-toned pictures of his mother and father. He never takes his necklace or rings off. He can often be found with as many accessories as he can hold, many necklaces and tons of bracelets. He has his ears pierced, and a second hole in one ear. In his first hole he always wears small, silver hoops that do not hang below the skin of his earlobe, and his second hole is in his left ear where he wears a single emerald stud. He has nails that come to points, and he always keeps them painted in the color silver with green swirling designs on his ring fingers. PERSONALITY Koray had always been a quiet, withdrawn boy. In his youth, he had only been open and happy around his parents and numerous siblings. He always felt to be an outcast in his populous family with his talented older siblings. Being the youngest, he often felt his voice was lost amongst the robust, open-hearted ones of his many brothers and sisters. Koray is one of those boys who desperately searches for acceptance of any form. However, he secretly just wants to be loved, and is so desperate to finally be able to accept himself. He is very withdrawn and quiet, and dislikes telling others about his own personal beliefs and opinions as well as his feelings. He is so afraid that his peers and the other Ejderha won't accept his homosexuality if he ever came out of the closet, even though this fear is irrational. Although the Ejderha people do not reject homosexuality, his family was never to keen on it, so Koray had basically grown up on the family idea that 'if you can't produce children, you are worthless.' His family had been rather prestigioius after all, they were deadset on leaving a legacy to be remembered, which was not capable of happening if one of their sons was gay. Although when Koray grew up, he realized how irrational this was since he was born incapable of reproduction anyhow. He figured out his families belief on this matter when his older brother became slightly curious about his sexuality in his teen years. His parents had responded by putting him into the military even earlier then most Ejderha children, and he came back home after his three-year completion to have nothing to say on the subject. He proceeded to have 7 children with his new wife. Koray had decided to keep it all to himself, and to force himself to restrict his eyes if they ever dare to wander over the figure of another male, he decided that he would simply close his eyes, force back everything he wants and push it behind a barrier of fake strength that keeps him quiet and alone in his innocent, still child-like mind. He loves attention, but denies it completely for fear that he will grow, once again, too attached to somebody only to lose them. Koray's weak and damaged personality is only contrasted by the fact that he is extraordinarily gifted in basically anything musically artistic you could give him. He grew up learning as many instruments as his parents and siblings knew how to play. He can play the piano, organ, violin, cello, clavichord, trombone, lute, bandura, and the clàrsach He has a passion for songwriting, writing music and trying to learn new instruments. He has grown up performing for his parent's friends and at his siblings birthdays. His parents would hold him closely as they proudly told his audiences all about him as he sat there quietly, a blush attained upon his pale, feminine face. His only real emotional strength is that he knows he can look innocent and adorable, and thusly can get away with basically anything he tries to get away with. Sometimes he can act like a spoiled brat. He was very spoiled growing up in his rich family, he had all of his wants and needs fullfilled at almost all times. Well, nearly all. He is actually extremely vain and self-centered, but doesn't really mean to be... most of the time. He does not want to like males, as in his mind he is abnormal and that his duty in life should be to get married to a women and make his family proud, but he cannot change his mind as much as he tries. In his mind, he could never be proud of himself until the day he began to like and date women. Through this self-hatred, Koray finds his inner strength. This gives him his courage to fight and be strong with his personal ordeals, even though his instincts tell him to find somebody to hide behind. In a nutshell:: + Quiet + Determined + Self Conscious + Insecure + Artistic + Expressive + Has a lot of potential HISTORY Koray grew up in a prestigious family, taught to act as such by his parents who fought so hard to get to their social status, and taught by his siblings who felt the same. He grew up a quiet child, immune to being made fun of by the other boys and sometimes girls who would mock him for his femininity and siblings who always had to defend him, even though many of them made fun of him at home as well. Homosexuality and all signs of it never sat well with the majority of his family, so it was always hard to be himself, even at home. It was always as such in the home where he grew up, what with 4 boys and 3 girls born into his family. His mother was strangely fertile, and so his father felt he must pursue this for the good of their kind. However, Koray as well as two of his sisters proved to be infertile. Koray was made fun of a lot when he was little. Even in his very young years, he once tried to flirt with another boy who obviously was not too keen on the idea, and he ended up getting beat up and tore his left wing along the middle of the webbing that connected the 'fingers'. Ever since then, his courage had only faded with the help of the family. They too seemed to only mock his femininity, behind his back of course. Unfortunatly, Koray had too often heard into these conversations. He would often sit in his room for days on end, writing music to pass the time as his siblings fought, being the boisterous types they were. His oldest brother feared for the youngest of their family, Koray, because of this quiet fear of the rest of the world. He feared he would never fall in love and would spend the rest of his life alone. This fear was only solidified as the death of their parents brought havoc into the entire family. He slept on their graves for the first three nights after the funeral services, out in the mountains where his parents had met and fell in love as young teenagers. Koray spent those nights clawing at the soil, whispering through it's depths his parent's names, as if desperately clawing at the memory of his mother waking him up with breakfast in bed when she just knew he wasn't feeling well. As if he were clawing at the memories of his father swinging his youngest son up onto his shoulders where Koray would playfully hold onto his father's long golden horns, laughing happily as the young child he was at the time as his father would spin around, trying to detach the menace from his horns. His dreams were crushed the cold night he found out that his parents had died. His only real dream at that point in his life was to tell his parents he was gay before they died, or before he died. He didn’t want to die with his memory in their minds only a lie. Unfortunately, this was not possible. The young teenager lost his parents, and he could no longer find the strength to have even a hope of telling the world, his family, or himself. Koray lost his parents to an all-too-common upper respiratory infection that meant their demise when they could not reach medical attention in time. The two lovers that were his parents were on a mission for the Ejderha army, underground in the volcanic, sulfurous lands that were the human work-in-progress coal mines. The humans had been growing increasingly curious about coal, and the Ejderha were growing increasingly curious with their curiosity. Koray's parents were assigned to go down into the coal mines for two weeks. They were supposed to record data on where the coal was being mined, how it was being mined, and in what quantities. Unfortunately, they never returned home from the assignment. It was a terrible way to die for two very prestigious warriors. They gave in to the sulfur that infected their lungs, making them weaker then usual in the areas of their respiratory system, and they died soon after, only to be found by the human miners who brought them above land where the Ejderha collected the bodies and buried them promptly. Koray probably took the death of his parents hardest out of his entire family, inflicting the fault upon himself because in his mind he should have been there to save them from their disease. He was the youngest of his family, so naturally he was the one least familiar with death. Especially that of one close to him. His grandparents on both sides had died before he was even born, and the only aunts and uncles he had were not close the family. Once Koray had began to stop mourning so heavily the pain of his parents loss, he took all of his time to get away from the house. There he met a boy. He spent as much time as he could with him, never learning the strange Ejderha boy's name. He was adorable, he was pale with light eyes and dark hair, and with a smile that could always make his easily impressionable facial structures blush with a light peachy hue. The two of them went swimming once, where Koray attempted to dive by his side and ended up slitting the 16 year old boy's side open with his pointed horn, and as he surfaced he felt horrifically to have to pull his friend and new love interest to the ground where he bandaged it with a piece of his clothes, gently applying pressure until the bleeding stopped. After this, the boy never returned. Koray was mortified, locking himself away in his room again where he ripped at all his musical writings that told his dreams of finding a lover, all his dreams written into musical notes scrawled onto lined paper. He spent his time playing away frantically at his piano, desperately through it's keys trying to find himself within the music. He couldn't understand, Ejderha males were supposed to be strong... regal and perfect. Homosexuality is a human disease, he would think. Nomatter how the Ejderha culture truly had no problem with homosexuality, he definatly did. This was the point in his life when he was utterly and truly disgusted with himself for his thoughts, wants and beliefs. He just wanted to be like most of the other Ejderha. He wanted to be regal, he wanted to be strong and manly. He wanted a girlfriend and to be able to impregnate her and bring life into this world. This was both physically and mentally impossible. Something about Koray's mind was just very un-Ejderha. All he wanted was clarity. He found that clarity through music. All he wanted was to make somebody proud. His siblings, all older and most moved away with their husbands or wives to raise children and live their lives, were not there to be the one to be proud of him. They were hardly ever there. Only the eldest of the boys was ever there for the (at the time) young teenager named Koray, and even he soon moved away to impregnate his new wife with three healthy children. Soon enough, Koray found himself quiet and alone in the manor that had once buzzed with the life that still remained so vividly awake in his memories of his childhood. Upon reaching his 22nd birthday, much to Koray’s procrastination, he reluctantly gave his notice of leaving to his oldest brother who still stopped by twice a week to bring him groceries and the like and to make sure everything was all right in the manor. Koray told him he was heading off for his three years of military service. He knew he did not want to go, but he also knew he had to. His mind raced with the thoughts that only spelled out that he must make his parents proud to have him be a warrior for them. So he forced up his courage and pulled on his brother’s old military clothes, them feeling rather loose around his slim and dainty body. He sighed quietly as he pulled his long silver hair back into a pony-tail. He weakly stretched his wings, loosing them up. They had been rather sore from disuse as he left his home and found his way to the local training grounds where he spent the next three years of his life training and occasionally fighting for his race. He had found himself with a crush on his bunkmate, a boy by the name of Yizai. Yizai had confessed in Koray that he too, was infertile. They talked about their lives at home one night where Koray snuck out a hint that he liked boys. Yizai had only looked at him, then smiled. “Are you gay?” he had asked rather blatantly. Koray’s face gave into the imminent blush that had taken hold of his pale features. He choked out a confirmatory “Yes”, shocked that he could manage to force himself to say it. Yizai had merely chuckled, and told him that he was too. Koray worked up the strength that night, it was raining, to tell Yizai that he liked him. Much to Koray’s shock, Yizai had said the same. That night, Yizai and Koray snuck out of the barracks, onto the riverside fairly close the their room. They both put their feet into the cool waters. They sat there in silence, enjoying the night until Yizai leaned over after a long pause of silence and pressed his lips to Koray’s. That night had been the best Koray had ever experienced. Eventually they snuck back into the bunk, kissed each other goodnight and fell asleep. The next morning, Koray awoke to find their barrack on fire. He immediately pulled on his uniform boots and uniform jacket. He stretched his wings and readied his claws and lips. He looked around. Fire was all around the camp, burning all the supplies and shelter. Suddenly, a huge raid of humans broke through the barricaded gateway that led into the fortress. Koray looked around desperately for Yizai, for his protection. He was nowhere to be found until Koray finally saw him, Koray had just begun to run up to him when Yizai turned to him for just a moment and then suddenly a spear was driven through his body, and expelled from the front through his ribcage. Koray’s eyes widened in shock as tears sprung to his eyes. That night, following the cold battle that had raged in the Ejderha military training camps, his bunk’s commander told them all when the service would be held for those lost, and that all who have already completed more then two and a half years were free to leave. He said their services had paid off the remaining four months they had left in training. After the service, Koray was quick to leave the barracks and go home to his brother’s arms who had waited for him upon his day of return to comfort him. Koray didn’t tell him why he was so sad, but that very night he left the mansion and wandered off onto the streets of the big city that had loomed beneath the mountaintop mansions, ominous with it's obnoxious noise and life. Koray found himself outside in the pouring rain on the streets of the popular part of the city. His knee-high boots tucked into his military uniform pants, the buckles of his boots glistening silver against the rain as he stood outside of the small building with a sign that said "Audition: The Asteron League-- Apply now and find your future!". Koray's emerald eyes blinked quietly. He was alone on the street with only him and the pouring rain as he took a deep breathe before his calm, quiet and insecure voice murmured "It's time to move on. Here lays my future.", and with that he decided. He would try out for the Asteron League. He soon found himself huddling away back to his room for several weeks, his walls becoming a mess of smeared ink and his floor becoming a solidified mass of crumpled paper until eventually he held his song up to his lips. A smile found it's way across his lips as he slowly whispered in his delicate, quiet voice, "It is perfect." His fingers found their way to the piano as they gently began out a slighty quick, passionatly accented tune. It was quick and emotional and yet one that brought tears to his emerald eyes as his lips took shape, his eyes reading along the paper as he tested the song's feeling on his lips. In the string that laces your fingers, In the knotting of our hearts, We are breathing all the same and yet you're stopping.
I can hear, hear the birds, Twitting on my windowsill, Singing only of your voice that haunts my mind,
Can you still breathe, in heaven? Can you still see my face, Feel my heart still beating in time with yours, As the rain drenches over, Marking over our dark pasts, The moon only reflecting your wings so torn, so black.
And I can feel- Feel the rain, But it hurts no longer,
I can only smell the scent of your skin.
I'm so scared, Scared to die, And yet I know I will be fine,
Will you be waiting to take me away from the god that denies us all?
Will you be there? Will you be there? To dry away the pain that haunts my memories? The silver keys? That lock our hearts?
In the cat's cradle, That laces your fingers, In the knotting of our hearts, So intricately that I can still feel them
Beating in time to the rhythm of the rain, To the flutter of doves falling to their grave.
Koray took a deep breathe, pausing in a quiet moment as he raised his quill to the top of the paper where a margin lay waiting for the song's name. He quietly scrawled out, "Yizai", smiling before leaning back and breathing, finally feeling together again. Koray couldn't help but feel that the loss of his parents, his first real friend, and now his first lover were the only things that would give him the chance to be strong. He could feel an inner personality of strength, boisterous and very Ejderha-like pride begin to well up within him. He mentally smiled, proud that he finally felt alive and like he could finally get along in this world like his idea of a normal boy would. "So... this is what strength really feels like." he whispered quietly as he drifted off to sleep in his chair, tucked into his piano, exhausted from nearly three nights up straight perfecting this song, finally feeling that he may have secured a spot in the League, his emerald eyes closed one last time as he fell off of his chair, his horns piercing a crumpled piece of paper as he landed quietly, sound asleep in the confines of his silent room. COMMON KNOWLEDGE Koray does not enjoy the company of females. He tends to shrug them off, unless they are not very attractive of eye and/or are fun to talk to. He greatly dislikes all who are more aesthetically attractive then him. He has a secret fetish for chocolate-covered strawberries and all things sweet. He desperately just wants to be loved. As Koray grows up, his shyness and insecurities fade away faster and faster and he eventually becomes quite boisterous and noisy, as well as quite the flirt.

DIVISION Supportive Magic CLASS PROGRESSION Lowly Singer > Musical Mage > Mage of Sound
Lowly Singer
Koray is merely a songwriter trying to get along in the world with his fairly untrained voice and his heart-filled words. He is unaware of how helpful his magical abilities will be when combined with his talented voice in the casting of spells to disarm opponents and assist those he fights with. He most likely wears every-day clothes in this stage until later when he begins to better understand his abilities with magic, where he wears a green belt with a solid silver belt buckle, encrusted with emeralds that help enhance his magical strength.
[[ Melee +1 || Ranged +0 || Magic/Other +4 ]] [[ HP >> 28 || Evade >> 10 ]]
Musical Mage
Koray has now begun to understand why his gift in singing is so helpful when tied to spells used to assist his comrades in battle. He has now taken to wearing clothes that are easier to move in. Mostly silks and soft fabrics, usually in delicate and regal-looking patterns. They do not look completely formal, however not as formal as level 3.
[[ Melee +2 || Ranged +1 || Magic/Other +7 ]] [[ HP >> 38 || Evade >> 14]]
Mage of Sound
Koray has realized the full ability of his powers. He is now comfortable with assisting all of his comrades fully, and often is a vital role in battle. Koray has pierced the cartilage on his left ear with a thick silver cuff. He is much more open with the world, his quietness has begun to dissolve slightly and he now is a little bit more open to people. He has made friends and is prepared to give his life to help protect them in battle. He also has developed the ability to create and sustain force-fields that act as a shield for a maximum of 10 seconds. His outfit is now completely formal, very beautiful and regal. Although he looks rather feminine at times, he does not take it as offensively as he would have when he was younger. [See references for example of his outfit in first reference]
[[ Melee +3 || Ranged +2 || Magic/Other +10 ]] [[ HP >> 43 || Evade >> 18 ]]
SPECIAL SKILLS Level One-- Regen [Any Target] Level Two-- Cure-all [All Allies] Level Three-- Summon Shield [Self Only]
Racial Specific-- Going Places, Breath Skill
WEAPON His belt to help power his spells and graveyard dirt for more serious spells, [ones such as summoning, etc.] LEVEL One POINT ASSIGNMENT Melee (1), Ranged (0), Magic/Other (4) HIT POINTS 28 EVADE 10 OTHER NOTES Gosh, I am just loving the progress that is coming along with him. I believe I may soon begin to hire people to draw art of him, just to add to my references. D: I hope everybody who may be reading this is liking him as well!!

This is such a cute little concept. The whole cute cross dresser amongst the kinda brutish manly Edjerha makes me smile.
I think the personality is really well done along with the appearance. Your history is beautifully informative. I was previously tempted to make a homosexual Edjerha but you've done a better job than I would ever had done.
Overall I love your concept, keep up the good work.
(Oh and Heal isn't a skill... anyone ca use it... I think you might mean Regen.)

(Oh and Heal isn't a skill... anyone ca use it... I think you might mean Regen.) ^^ Thank you so much. I am glad you like my character. I have always been attracted to characters that don't fit in on the inside, but do on the out. I don't really know why. I'm sure you would have done a lovely job making a homosexual Ejderha. xD Also, I'm going to look into the whole Heal thing. I'm pretty sure you are right though, I will repost if I do end up editing it. Thank you for the great review!

Okay, first things first, the name! Ejderha typically do not have surnames, so there's no need to include "Keijah." Additionally, while you can keep it if you really like it, I think the name is a little bit weird. It sounds Japanese and makes me think of tattooed mobsters, not a pretty young man. whee
His appearance is fine, save some anachronisms. Aludra is a high fantasy world, so there are no jeans, t-shirts or sweat pants. Your very first "Dress-up style" reference is just fine, but not the modern jacket, belt, etc. Those clothing styles don't exist in Aludra.
While the mods are always in support of homosexual characters, you should note that Ejderha culture doesn't reject homosexuals and doesn't have a harsh opinion towards them. Yakuza's family might disapprove, but the Ejderha as a whole are not that worried about it, especially if he's known to be infertile.
In history, you say that his infertility is related to burns and the subsequent operation, but I don't think this is necessary, and he'd have to be burnt in a very, uhm, specific region for it to result in infertility. redface Additionally, Aludra isn't technologically advanced enough for surgical procedures, so they use powerful healing magics instead. I think you can just say that he was born infertile, as both genders are just as likely to be so. Finally, Ejderha are very resistant to fire.
There are a couple references to his horns that makes them seem a lot longer and sharper than the little tiny ones that you have in your reference image. You might want to consider making them a little longer and sharper looking so that it makes more sense. 3nodding
In case you missed it, the Ejderha have three years of military service required upon hitting age 22. The humans from Cerastes invaded Filela-Liram 7 years ago and Nasaja fell 5 years ago. Given his age, he would have been right in the thick of things fighting against the humans rather than enjoying a relatively peaceful service patrolling the border. This isn't addressed in your history, but it does need to be worked in.
His class progression looks good except for the clothing, which was addressed earlier.
At his third level, Mage of Sound, you've shorted yourself 1 point. You currently have 2+2+10=14, so give yourself one more point in there somewhere.
Good luck! heart

The only thing is some corrections you still need to make in the history. The second I read your characters description, I skipped on down to the history to take a peek.
A fourteen-year-old wouldn't have been in the Edjerha military yet, like the mods said, 22. That's not reflected in your history. I assume that it needs massive changes, since a 14-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man have very different sexual experiences, as well as maturity levels.
Goodluck with your concept!
