This is in my Myspace blog also so I just copied it from there...bare with me...it's very long. There's a little episode of Sugizo walking past me a couple days later so I hope you enjoy that too!
The line:
Line was a pale persons nightmare. I forgot what time I got there but I probably waited in line for about 3 - 4 hours. In that heat it seemed longer. I didn't get in line till it shortened, but there was rarely any shade where I was. I tried to find a bit of shade but it didn't do my tall body justice. As I saw people crying in line as they found out their tickets were stolen or they couldn't bring in water, food, umbrellas (which almost everyone had), cameras, or props. Rules that weren't even told to us before any of us got in line. As the line was still on the asphalt I got in line...Dear GOD it was hot. My friend was already sunburned. Since I am of dark skin I was not sunburned but very very very dark. Darker than I usually am. The line was going horrendously slow so I bought a lemonade...five bucks...wow...I could buy a meal with that money! I bought one for me and my friend since she hadn't eaten all day andt he last thing I needed was for her to go crazy or pass out during the concert. She felt better and full and I her and I finished our drinks within a 7 minute period (they were pretty big). The group in front of up turned around with bugged out eyes and were shocked that we finished them so fast because they hadn't even gotten a quarter of it done lol. We finally got into the venue after rude as hell staff sent us in.
Finding my seat:
This frustrated me so much I ended up yelling at the arena staff. I went in asked someone where my seat was...they pointed me to the OTHER SIDE of the venue across from my seat. I asked another staffer and they pointed me to the right direction but not the right section. I asked someone which section I am at and they pointed me to the wrong section. I asked another and I got the right section finally. I was searching desperately for my seat since I didn't want it to start before I got in my seat. I found my seat and someone was sitting in it...they kept saying that they were for sure that those seats were their seats. I brought a big buff staffer and they told them to move after he checked their tickets and mine. They kept saying that was their seat after pointing to a random letter A on their ticket. But the staffer was't going to take it since he was sure it was OUR seats. So I got to my spot. We waited a while just watching the rest of the people find their seats. I had an AMAZING view of the stage. I was on the rail of the side risers (it was all assigned seating yay). I saw the stage perfectly. Nothing was obstruction my view. I was on the left side of the stage as you faced the stage on the side of Miyavi.
The amazement:
How it started...I've always DREAMT of havign a concert start that way after I had watched Dix Infernal Moi dix Mois DVD. They were showing the video of S.K.I.N. that i'm pretty sure you all know and then a BLAST of music occurs and the curtain hiding the stage falls and shrieks, screams, and yells all filled the arena along with the amazingly loud music. They started to rock out to the first song GEI-SHA. They had video clips of scenery and red lights and blasting music. Miyavi running around as usual. Sugizo going nuts on his guitar. Gackt with his new doo and eye-liner that I did not like on him lmao. Yoshiki pounding the hell out of the drums. My section was kind of...LAME. The people in the front of the section were awesome the back seemed confused lol. I was headbanging and yelling GEISHA where needed and going crazy and intimidating people as usual. Then some stupid staffer tried to get us to sit down...The three people next to me did and I yelled at them and what I yelled was, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING SITTING DOWN!? THIS IS A ROCK CONCERT! THEY CAN'T MAKE US SIT DOWN!" And they all got up again. It was amazing seeing so many different styles come together also.
After the first song the girl next to me said, "You're hair smells REALLY GOOD. And when you headbang it's like an HERBAL ESSENCE commercial!" I was like, "Thanks!...Err...*Turns back around towards the stage*" It was really really funny lol.
The next song came up. I liked it a lot but not as much as the first one. Then comes Yoshiki on piano. I got all teary. Then Gackt came up on piano and I got really teary. Cheers filled the arena. Yoshiki started to go nuts on the piano smacking it at random times. They looked so beautiful playing the piano. I stopped getting all teary lol. Then Sugizo came up on violin. Cheers filled the air again. Everyone was waiting to see what Miyavi was playing. He was playing a string instrument from Japan (sorry I don't know what it is called). It sounded so beautiful. Then after 5 minutes of it I got REALLY BORED. I know I know some ofy ou may be saying, "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT ALL OF THEM ARE GODS!!!!" I know I know Gods of Jrock. I know! But it is a concert. I like to have fun at concerts. I like to get wild at concerts. And I wanted fast songs. Beautiful but it just got me bored after a bit. I'd love to hear it on a CD just not a concert. Then I thought, "Yoshiki...of course...of COURSE he'd put a piano classical bit in a concert." So I tried to stay awake for later lol.
The last song. Talk about taking up half the concert lol. I think it was either the first or last song Ju-Ken (from Gackt's group if you don't know him) came out and played bass since they lacked a bass player. It was a fun song and it was headbangable at tmes. Many many MANY "GET BACK"s that I have a feeling Gackt put in the song since he loves to do that kind of stuff (its obvious if you've seen his DVDs lol). Miyavi got my section going GOOD. He pointed to us and started to jump and we all started jumping that I swore the ground of the side risers would break. He stayed and made our side do a lot of stuff and he was all like "YAY I CONTROL THEM" faces lol. I'm super happy I was on Miyavi's side. He was really fun with my side and I have no regrets being there. Gackt introduced all the members and they all had solos and it was amazing. GREAT song! It was called Violet(s?). After they were done they started going APESHIT (sorry for the language but in this case it is REALLY NECESSARY) on stage. Yoshiki started massacring his drumset throwing poles at it and smashing it to bits. In the process he cut his hand on a pole-like thingy but he didn't care. Someone said he said later on that "that's rock and roll." And that was great to hear. Sugizo...WHOA BUDDY. He just MURDERED his guitar! He swung it upon the ground and it didn't break then. He threw it. Then he smacked it on the ground again as hard as he could and SNAPPED it in half...It was SO amazing and intimidating lol. I bet his daughter was backstage yelling, "DADDY'S A DEMON" or something lol. He kept throwing the pieces around. I don't know if he threw it into teh crowd or not. Miyavi...smart boy lol. Miyavi likes his guitars so he didn't do that crazy stuff lol. He just jumped around and smacked his guitar and things like that. He went on the speaker though (this may have been earlier or when people were murdering their instruments I forgot) and it was tiltng and such. He was being all "Oooo i'm hoooot" haha. Gackt was just yelling that "YAOH" kind of stuff again and saying the "Who are we!!!?" stuff in funny English. You could tell he's been practicing a lot. Someone told me later about him studying 50 words a night before he came to Anime Expo lol. I have no clue if it's true so don't quote me on that one. Ju-ken I TOTALLY forgot. Don't remember what he was doing at all.
So after they're done mutilating everything and scaring the heck out of the security gaurds near the stage, Yoshiki starts to throw his drumsticks and Miyavi helped when he dropped a few. Gackt threw water bottles and so did Sugizo. I was SO CLOSE. I didn't want Sugizo's waterbottle like if it was a life or death situation like other people but hey I tried. There was a part of the side risers that was separated by an aisle from the floor section and the handicapped. It flew by me (I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO HIT MY FACE) at an angle and I leaned over the rail a bit but I was about a half a foot away from catchng it (I could have caught it if I tried harder). It fell a couple of feet to the right of me in the walkway and someone got out of their seat to get it. I wish I got it but hey I can live with it...Why would I want to keep Sugizo's backwash? Lol.
Two days later:
Well I got a nice suprise. Sugizo walked right in front of me. The story goes: I was walking back towards Oriental Massage bandmembers because I took a REALLY crappy picture with Noah the keyboardist who knew about every song you could name on the keyboard. Anywho as I am walking back and I stopped...I turned to my left and I saw Sugizo walking. Pretty intimidating to walk up to so I didn't mostly because behind him was his daughter and two other girls (who I have no clue who they are). I didn't recognized him at first though. I said, "Krista (my friend) doesn't he look familiar?...Sugizo?...I think that's Sugizo!" My friend was looking around and as he was walking away from us I pointed her head in the right direction and she said, "That looks like his daughter behind him! It is him!" I saw his face and it was for sure him no doubt about it also that it was his daughter. She is going to grow up to be a beautiful woman wow. She was SO CUTE. I went over to Oriental Massage again and Tetsu said to me, "That was Sugizo whoa!!" And all of us just stood their shocked looking at the parking lot...Then after I took a couple retakes with Noah who was dying to look at the pictures and I snatched the camera away from him and yelled, "HELL NO." He grabbed it and he liked the last one a lot and I was like, "Fine ;~;..." He was really up close and personal with me in the pictures it was weird lol. Anywho. After that I started to walk along the side of the parking garage because I like cars and I wanted to know what car Sugizo was going in but no luck in finding him again. It was great though. As many of you know I have a case of spotting Jrockers in huge crowds or in weird places (like the bathroom wtf). If you didn't know that then boy do I have stories for you. It is pretty amazing. It's like a superpower I have lol! Or just really really REALLY good luck. Even though Sugizo is my least favorite, it was cool to see him. If it was Miyavi or Gackt I would have bumrushed them so fast lol. Especially Miyavi...I really want to stand next to him since he is one of the rare jrockers who are TALLER than me! Gackt is my height. I already met drunk Yoshiki but I wonder how he is sober lol. Anywho that is my review and I hoped you liked it!
EDIT: There was WAY too much hip swaying. Sorry! I'm not a fan of fanservice. Everytime Sugizo or Gackt swayed their hips I started laughing cause I thought it was funny lol.
