Vincent Valentine- Former gunman for the Turks, Vincent has had several
unfortunate events unfold in his life. The death of his father, his ill fated
romance with Lucrecia Crescent, and of course, his own murder at the hands of
Professor Hojo. Sealed away in the basement of the Shinra Mansion, he was
awoken by Cloud and company, and persuaded to join them in their fight against
Shinra, though he personally was looking for vengeance against Hojo. Since
the defeat of Sephiroth, Vincent has chosen a life of solitude, keeping in
contact with few, other than his friend Reeve. However, when Kadaj attempted
to bring about a second Reunion, he came to Cloud's aid, and helped him find
the courage to stand up to fight again. Now, he currently waits inside
Lucrecia's cave, staring at her trapped inside a giant material, wondering
where his life will take him next ... until Reeve asks him to travel to
Calm ...
Vincent is not one to get overly emotional. When he does, he changes into the
fierce Galian Beast ... or worse, the horrific Chaos. Such is the price of
Hojo's experimentation on this Former Turk gunman. Few can match his raw
power in his monster forms, or his lethal skill with his weapons ...
Reeve Trieste- Former Shinra Executive, and now head of the WRO (World
Reconstruction Organization), Reeve seeks to make up for the mistakes he made
while working for Shinra. A philanthropist, and brilliant business man, he
has few reservations about taking the fight to the enemy, even if he has to do
it himself. With his connections, he has helped build Edge City, and
contribute to the well being of many people who suffered the aftereffects of
Meteor, and Geostigma. However, he currently has found a group of renegade
SOLDIERS are on the move, and has asked Vincent to go to Calm to keep an eye
on things there.
Quick thinking, and tactful, Reeve rarely displays negativity, but tries to be
a kind, and hard working leader for the people ... even when he doesn't
believe it himself.
Cait Sith- Reeve's alter ego, the little mechanical cat, Cait Sith, is now on
his 5th ... or 6th incarnation, but has lost none of his charm, or go get 'em
attitude. Sent into areas that prove to be too dangerous for Reeve and the
others, Cait Sith's skills as a spy are still in demand, and his loyalty to
Vincent, Cloud, and Reeve are unsurpassed. Though he no longer has his Giant
Moogle to ride on, he still proves to be a useful asset when sneaking back
into enemy territory.
Though he is more independent from Reeve now, he still tends to hang around
his old boss, and cares deeply for those around him. Sadly, his combat skills
are quite lacking without Red XIII or the moogle to back him up ...
Yuffie Kisaragi- The 'Super Shinobi' from Wutai has only gotten smarter, and
faster as she has gotten older, but at 19, she isn't THAT much older. Her
selfishness is in check now, and she has become incredibly loyal to her
friends, but still has trouble keeping her emotions in check. Contacted by
Reeve to help out Vincent, she proves to be a great asset in a pinch, but has
yet to overcome her motion sickness. Apparently, they are all out of
tranquilizers, as she is usually found on the Shera puking her guts out over
Cid's new ship.
Quick, lethal, and flashy, Yuffie packs a punch. Like any young woman, she
worries about the little things in life, and some would recommend she cover
her cute little cranium with a helmet for future outings ...
Shelke Ray- The smallest, and youngest of the Elite SOLDIERS, she possesses a
unique power, SND (Sensitive Network Dive), which allows her to access any
computer system by diving into it's memory directly. Lacking emotion, she is
in many ways like a computer herself, but this is more to do with a childhood
tragedy than her talents. Stolen from home as a child, she waited for the day
when she would be rescued, only to be buried under Midgar for three years
after Meteor. Now, she seeks only to do Vice's bidding, and help find the
Ancient Materia.
Azul- The massive Azul is the powerhouse of the Elite SOLDIERS, and carries
an anti-aircraft gun around just to prove it. At first he seems to be the man
in charge, but you quickly learn that his is just the muscle ... and it is
something he does well. Thanks to his Sheild Materia, he proves to be
invulnerable as well as superstrong. His loyalties lie with Vice, and his
crush anyone who stands in his way.
Rosso- Sadistic, cunning and beautiful, Rosso is a blood thirsty psychopath
who enjoy death. Her speed and unique weapon make her a deadly adversary, and
she looks forward to ending the life of Vincent. Sent to find the Ancient
Materia, she turns up in a few places, constantly looking to kill as many as
she can while out. Interestingly enough, she enjoys the rain, as she hasn't
seen the outside world in three years.
Nero- The bizarre Nero can draw people into portals of darkness where they
are absorbed, and destroyed ... except for Vincent, who is immune to his
powers. With his mechanical wings, he waits inside Midgar for instructions
from Vice, on how to best deal with Vincent and the WRO. His motives for
serving Vice are different from the other Elite SOLDIERS, and he will not
hesitate to act against the others if necessary ...
Professor Hojo- The mad Hojo has ruined more lives than many others on this
world. Killing Dr. Gast, Ilfalna, Vincent Valentine ... injecting JENOVA
cells into Lucrecia, her unborn child, Nanaki (Red XIII), Cloud Strife, Zack,
and a whole host of others ... not to mention tormenting the young Aerith Gast
(Gainsborough), and manipulating the Shinra company into allowing him access
to all sorts of materials so that he could perform his own unethical brand of
science ... he has made more than a few enemies, and none hate him more than
Vincent Valentine. Though robbed of his chance to settle the score on top of
the Mako Cannon, the Sister Ray, Vincent has left that behind him, as he
watched the death of the mad, second rate scientist in a lightning strike ...
but his schemes reach far into the future ... far beyond his death ...
Lucrecia Cresent- Scientist for the Shinra Corporation, she worked closely
with Dr. Gast, Hojo, and Valetine. When she discovered the Chaos Element
trapped inside a Giant Materia not far from the Gongala region, she and
Grimoire Valentine transferred it to her lab, where she attempted to discover
it's secrets, but not before an explosion released it, fatally infecting
Grimoire and setting off a chain of events that would ruin her life and
career. After meeting Vincent, and being unable to face the truth about his
father, she turned to Hojo for consolation, and became pregnant with his
child ... only to learn in horror that the child and herself had been injected
with experimental JENOVA samples, and when Vincent confronted Hojo about
it ... she witnessed the murder of the man who truly loved her. With her
child taken, her love dead ... she sealed herself away in the very same
Materia that she had originally found Chaos in ... the Chaos that was now
inside the body of Vincent Valentine ... another sin on the long list of many
she was forced to endure ...
Vice- The mysterious leader of the Deepground SOLDIERS, and head of the Elite
SOLDIERS, Vice is hidden deep inside of Midgar, searching for a way to revive
OMEGA, who will destroy all life on the planet, ripping the Lifestream free,
and taking it with it into the stars. Why Vice is doing this is a mystery,
but no one can afford to allow him to complete his mad desires ...
Shalla Ray- Scientist working for the WRO, she has lost her right eye, and
arm, but not her drive to do what is right. Working closely with Reeve, she
seeks to find a way to understand OMEGA and the Elite SOLDIERS. Her ties to
them are deep, and reveal a tragedy in her past that she can't escape from.
She also has a friendship with Yuffie as well.
Cid Highwind- Builder and designer of the Highwind and Shera series of
airships, he's come a long way from a man who only wanted to see the stars.
Now working closely with the WRO, he has created a fleet of Highwind and
Shera's, and is helping to coordinate the attack on Deepground HQ. Tough, and
brash, he still enjoys getting into the thick of things ... and has a hard
time kicking old habits.
Cloud Strife- Free from the guilt that plagued him, he now comes to Vincent's
aid when he needs him, and seems to have comfortably settled into his new
life ... but is always prepared to get out Fenrir, and lead the fight to
wherever it is needed. Having thrice defeated Sephiroth, he is an ally that
Vincent can always count on ... as the two share similar experiences ... and
know the horrors that Hojo, and Shinra have inflicted upon the other.
Tifa Lockhart- Cloud's bosom buddy is back, with her fighting skills at their
peak again. Always one to stick up for friends, she helps in the fight
against Deepground, and gives some key information at a needed time. Happier,
and back to her old self, she proves herself in the end. Maybe a phone call
is what was needed ... ?
Barret Wallace- Coal miner turned terrorist turned oil worker ... he is the
team muscle, and second gunman. Not as accurate as Vincent with his gun arm,
he makes up for it in sheer volume from his Gatling Arm. When the WRO calls,
he comes running, and with loads of firepower behind him.
