Suicide Ville

Minato

Hey Guys,

A small, underpopulated town. With a name like Suicide Ville, you'd have to wonder why. I don't understand, myself. The kids at school aren't always friendly, but we all get along well enough. So I don't know why families don't choose this place to live. My 'rents found nothing wrong with it, when they moved us here a month ago, like you know. Not only have I not made any real friends yet, but I haven't even met anyone as cool as you guys.

About the whole thing, I'm writing cause, well, it's just... from what I've heard around the high school... the town lives up to it's name. I've yet to see, or even hear of anything but... sometimes, kids who seemed normal and friendly before, suddenly start writing. Not much, just... obsessively. I saw one girl write a notebook full, but this one guy just concentrated on writing half a sheet... then, these kids will be gone for a while... when they come back from the flu or whatever, they become anti-social, only sometimes cling to others who've withdrawn like themselves. And it's weird, but I ran into, literally, one of them the other day and... well, the kid had no pulse.

It really freaked me out. I thought you guys wouldn't want to miss out, so I figured I'd write sooner than promised. Write me back soon, eh?

Minato Itoh
Nao-baka
16
Unnaturally laid back, inclined to keep out of the action. He does what he deems necessary, no matter the cost, even if it puts him in the center of the action he avoids. Starting school in a new town as a sophomore, when the school year is almost done. He's noticed that odd things happen around school, and ran into a student the other day he's pretty sure wasn't alive

Catherine Harrison
Cat.on.the.Hill
17
Catherine moved to Suicide Ville about a year ago. Actually it was a move back. As a child she had lived there but her fathers job took them to another town, but now she's back. All of her childhood friends have nothing in common with her anymore except for a few memories from elementary school. She spends her time at school making idle chat with a few people she is acquainted, but is quiet most of the time. She has gotten used to it and has become quite the day dreamer

Amy Lavron
[Flower-of-Death]
15
Amy's not liked by a lot of students in her school, so use to being homeschooled, she doesn't know how to act towards new people. Amy's lived in this small town ever since she was little, but was only noticed by the people that walked by and ever looked up at her bedroom window when she was gazing out towards the streets. She's attended to this school for a year now, and still has no friends. Amy's high grades last year had put her in all honors classes this year, but she just can't help but keep her head in the clouds, that might be why she's really attentive to all the wierd stuff that happens in this town.

I tuck my books under my arm and turn away, slamming the locker door. Patches of paper are still attached where there used to be sketches and the like. My supposed locker mate had moved out quickly when he, or she I guess, found out I was going to be in here. All I got was a quick note saying
Quote:
The door jambs often. Try and make good friends, with good people. Don't worry, I won't be back.

When I thought about it, the odd thing was that my supposed locker mate hadn't seemed to use much of the locker, only the door frame for pictures. Where was the point in moving out if there wasn't going to be an issue of space? I chalk it up to thinking that the new kid's going to be wei-
I slam into someone as hard as I'd slammed the door, not having paid attention to the crowded hall as I set off. I find myself on top of someone, someone muttering in a dissatisfied tone but not gasping for breathe like me. I reach my hand towards the floor, in an attempt to push myself off before the victim, assuming I'm not the victim here, gets a chance but instead my hand comes down on a wrist.
For a second, I'm not sure it's a wrist. It's cool to the touch, and... I feel no tingling pulse like I'd expect. It's as if this kid is...

My eyes open. I'm on top of the covers, like usual. My dad's willing to drag my corpse in here, up on top of the mattress to sleep, but ever since I hit the double-digits he's refused to 'tuck me in'. As far as I'm concerned, he can just throw the freaking covers over me there doesn't have to be any tucking in involved. In any case this means I passed out somewhere around the house again... hopefully around the house. It'll be humiliating if there are comments about the guy who fainted at Mickey D's, or the skate park I remember I'd planned to visit... 'cause that guy would be me.

I close my hand over my own wrist. My pulse is light, so I can rarely find it, and it's even harder for physicians. But still, there's this odd, warm tingle. I've come to associate this tingle with the human pulse more than the pulse itself, although I've gotten pretty good at finding pulses. Back in the day, in gym class everyone wanted me to be their partner because my friends would brag how great I was at keeping track of the pulse and finding the pulse, anywhere on your body. They always neglected to mention how hard it is to find mine.

That kid... when my fist closed around their arm, whoever it was shoved me off and shot off, seeming flustered. I don't know if it was because there's something really dang personal about arms here, or if it was because the kid didn't want me to be able to tell.
But when I think about it... no matter how I think about it... there was no pulse. No tingle or warmth.
No life.

I head for school, books feeling heavier than usual on my back. Everything feels heavier, actually... my eyelids, for example... I had woken up at two in the morning, after all, and hadn't been able to fall back asleep... This heightened my chances of passing out, of course. Damn.
Yawning, I shift my weight against the school doors and trudge down the hall. I'm early, thanks to my parents. They really don't care whether or not I pass out in the middle of the road and die, so long as I'm out of the house by six. I can't much complain; except for disappearing and reappearing as ordered, I have no restraints. My parents ignore my grades, my smoking, and provide me with a cell phone so that they can do the ordering. Can't much complain... but what sort of teenager would I be if not discontent?

I’m so not awake yet. I defiantly should have brought a pillow with me so I can at least sleep in the car. Why was it I’m up this early again? Oh yeah, my parents had to leave to the big city for an early appointment. Of course I begged them if I could go too, but I got the “you’re a big girl now” talk. Of course I’m a big girl! I’ve been 17 for a month now, but this school is strange. I really don’t like it here anymore. I mean, as a kid I have a few cherished memories, but now all of those kids don’t like me and I don’t like them. I’m an outsider now. Any chance to get out of school comes, I’ll take it.

I waved goodbye to my parents as the drove off, the house keys in my pocket. I’m going to have to walk home today. With a yawn I began walking to the front doors only to see that I‘m not the only one here early. A boy just slipped through the school doors. It looked like that new kid. I haven’t really said much to him before except for a hello or two. Carefully rubbing the sleep from my eyes, don’t want to mess up my make up, I lean up against the door and kind of stumble into the school. I began to navigate the halls to my locker. I begin to try to open it. It can be temperamental at times and today is no exception. Finally after pounding my locker it pops open." Stupid..." I began to mutter but lost the energy to fully curse the locker.

A couple books, papers, and pens, fell out of the locker after I open the door all the way. So many times I've tried to convince my locker buddy to help keep it clean but it never works. I put my back back down between my feet and begin to pick up the mess. As I picked up the papers I noticed that they were covered in writing, both back and front. "What's Amy trying do, write an anthology?" I muttered as I noticed that there was much more paper stuff inside the locker. I began gather up the paper into a semi neat pile. I'll have to ask her later what is going on.

I heard her banging the locker, but I only turn when I hear the clatter. Stepping over, I reach down and straighten the pile she's made. "I'm sorry," I apologize, though it has nothing to do with me. Really, I think I'm just deperate to talk to someone.

The sight of another hand in front of me somewhat surprised me especially as I looked up to see whose hand it belong to. "It's fine, thanks," I said a bit confused as to why he was apologizing. "My locker mate is always messy. I don't bother to ask her to clean it out anymore, I just try to take my books home with me," I said as picked up the pile and placed it into the locker setting down the books on top to weigh it down. "I don't mean this to be rude, but I'm quite spacey. Your in my class aren't you?" I asked some what embarrassed I haven't really noticed him yet.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 10, 2007 10:27 pm

"I could be," I mumble, rubbing the back of my skull as I debated whether or not to go off on a ramble about how I am beyond spacey and it's something I take drugs to ward off. Naaaaah, I'm having a conversation at last, why spoil it with self-centered unusualties? "At least you have a locker mate... then again, I guess bare space is preferable to this mess," I attempt a laugh with this, getting the feel that my sense of humour's... off.

"Yes, some space would be nice for a change," I agreed smiling a bit. "Wait, you don't have a locker mate?" I suddenly ask feeling a bit stupid for asking the obvious, but I just had an idea.

"No, whoever it was cleared out as soon as I got here," I laugh more, realizing how bad that made me sound. "So it's just me... even with my books it's pretty empty."

I walked into the school halls still thinking about different possibilities why all the kids at this school were so... out of it. Maybe their zombies or... Oh! Perhaps they are from a different planet and they have come to Earth to-... to... I sighed as I made my way through what I thought were empty halls towards my locker. ...or maybe its me thats from mars... I continued to think about this until a ran into an opened locker, making a bit of noise compaired to the silence the hall was previously in. I was so use to this, it didn't fase me a bit. However, I did finally noticed there was someone else here, two people infact. "Sorry, I guess I was thinking too much again." I apologized, then remembered what time it was. I thought I was the only one that came to school this early. "May I ask why you two are here so early in the morning?"
