What is the big deal with Chakra Affinity? Well, whatever chakra you have an affinity for greatly helps outs with a particular type of jutsu. Excelling in one type of affinity, will not only increase the power of that jutsu along with making it easier to learn. But also, it allows you to even take a step further with greater training to even change the nature of your chakra into that particular element. How is this helpful? Normally, you would need some sort of medium for all type of jutsu. If you do not have an affinity towards a particular jutsu, then you need to channel the chakra for a jutsu through a medium to use it. Meaning, for using Katon type jutsu one would need an actual source of fire around to be used for the jutsu. Fire and Lightning being the least available elements, as Wind, Earth, and Water are very plentiful. Along with changing the nature of your chakra, one can even use this to heavily increase their ability for making elemental based hijutsu if their affinity leans towards that element. Making it much easier to learn that particular technique.
