I thought Yu~ki had settled down with a family? I mean, he's completely left the music scene has he not? If anything they'll get someone who's still in the music scene and has a lot of popularity. Just look at the line up they have now. All of them are highly qualified (and that's down-playing it if anything) and they all have some extreme level of popularity.
There are people out there who don't know Malice Mizer still. I have many friends in Japan who love the rock music scene but have never even heard of Malice Mizer even though they've heard of Mana and Gackt, etc...
