{out of character}
:Basic Tavern Rules: -Make an enterance post. Some characters may be able to teleport, but you must say that you did. So please create a descriptive entrance post. (see later rules for this post) -If you challenge someone to a fight take it outside to the grounds (seperate thread) -Create a story, don't just say something. Normal people and creatures aren't blank zombies that just talk. DO SOMETHING! Describe actions or sights in your post for while your character is talking. -Follow all Gaia TOS. -There is no character bartender/waitress. If you order a drink or something, you decide what the bartender/waitress does. -Only do what is possible in "real life." Remember that you are one character, and cannot be on two different sides of the tavern at once. -If you are addressing a new person, please put their characters name in a slightly larger font than the rest so they know you are addressing them. If their characters name is different from their user name please put this in parentheses after the character name (may be in normal font). -Upon leaving post a descriptive exit post, similar to your enterance post.
razz osting: -Upon enterance: --describe your character's appearance as you appear to the other characters, you can include thoughts if you like --tell if you come in through a window or door or some other way --tell where you sit and how you get there -General post: --put what you say into quotes "talking" --put what you think into italics thinking --put general actions and other descriptions in plain text --be sure to put in an interesting mix of all of these throughout your posts -Upon exit: --this is similar to a general post, though now you must describe how you leave
Please follow these rules, they are designed to make this more enjoyable for everyone!

{tavern description within, please read!}
Dream looked about the tavern. She had inherited it from a great uncle she never knew even existed. Oddly enough it was in her nature to please, at least to some extent. As a result she had decided that this tavern would be open to any species that wanted to arrive.
The tavern was an interesting place. The building looked like an average house sized log cabin. To one side there was a forest, to the other there was a meadow with a giant lake. The meadow extended from the lake to the tavern to a small dirt road that ran in front of the tavern and connected the nearest town to the local rural community. Inside the tavern was surprisingly large. The buidling was two stories tall. Half of the upper story was enclosed creating an office space/living space. Beneath the enclosed portion lay the kitchen (off limits to the customers) and the bar. The other half, was left as open rafters, creating a roomy yet cozy interior. There were chairs and tables, none of which matched, laying about. In one corner there was a small raised area, presumeably a stage. Along the walls were windows, only some of which contained any glass. From the ceiling hung rustic lantern chandeliers of various types and lengths.
The bartenders were checking his inventory and wiping the counters. While the cooks were preparing themselves for the day. The waiters and waitresses were tiding up the place and chatting casually amongst themselves. I seem to be the only one that is nervous about the grand opening... She wrung the dishtowel she was holding, clenching and unclenching it without even realizing it. Here goes nothing! She thought with a smile, as she pulled the old key from a hidden pocket and unlocked the door.
Dream was a pretty girl. Actually, very pretty, stunning even. Though she did not realize her beauty, which added an allure to her. Her hair fell like a silky black fountain to her lower back, the front part she had pulled back into a halfback with a piece of fabric that matched her dress. She wore a dress of deep oranges, reds, purples and blacks that flowed loosely about her perfect form. Under which she wore leggings, which made movement easier as she did not need to worry about exposing herself. Her skin was fair, and her lips were a pale red. She did not wear makeup, she found it took too much effort. Her eyes were deep (not dark) blue, though they changed often.
She threw open the heavy outter door and breathed in the sweet smells of the surrounding air. She then re-entered the tavern allowing the lighter weight inner doors to close behind her. She found a seat at the bar, near a window, and sipped on a mug of sweet apple cider she had poured for herself earlier, awaiting her first customer.
