The more annoying it becomes. By this, I mean stupid screennames on Gaia. You know the kind. Names like "Atomic Toaster" or "Banana Lava Lamp." The names that take two arbitrary (and frankly, asinine) objects/adjectives , and mashes them together in an attempt to be funny through "randomness" that is anything but.

I really wouldn't be surprised if these people were the kind of people that blurt "Goddamn squirrel monkeys taking all the cheese. I menstruate!" at the freshman table and the whole ******** table starts cracking up like it's a nitrous oxide parade and Mr. Random is the Grand ******** Marshall.

I apologize if this offends and/or describes you, but these people really piss me off. The sad thing is, these people would most likely have a heart attack/stroke/aneurism/other potentially fatal medical badshit when they learn that they aren't funny. Yet the blow would be softened if people told them flatout that they weren't funny when they started the "predictable randomness" route. Robin Williams is funny because he is legally, no bullshitting, insane. These wannabe randoms are not insane, or funny.

Eh, I guess I can concede the fact that some of them have meaning, and that common names with either a ******** of numbers after it/intentional mispellings are at least slightly more annoying. I still don't like the whole "failing at randomness" thing. It's just disheartening to see it. If I were to go to a comedy club and the current act was someone doing that, I'd feel somewhat insulted. Not because I didn't find it funny, but because the guy said it assuming I would like it in order to get a cheap laugh. It's like going to a concert or something where they say " is the best city in the whole world!" even if it's a shithole, because they know that it will get people to praise them and cheer. If The Rolling Stones went to where you lived and said "This town is okay. It's not great, but it isn't bad," people would be pissed off, or at the least, not cheering.

It's like this "random" thing is patronizing...

Well I do have the mule username "Weapon of MathDestruction" but I just thought that was clever and not so much random.

I must agree with you though, I hate... HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE people who attempt to pull off the "Look at me, I'm "insane" and random so therefore I must be funny!" They piss me off to no end, I just wanna jump over the table and beat them senseless. Granted, I use to do that s**t in the past, but that's the damn past. I'd like to think I've evoloved since then, thank you very much.

Most of those names don't bother me. I agree with Ledell, a name with underscores or numbers is A LOT more annoying. If you have a name like that, pretty much nobody would take you seriously.

no, yours seems perfectly normal, considering. If it was "Static Ashtray" or "Custard Discharge," I might be a little less inclined to like it.

I saw a person with the name 'pads tampons' in GD once. Strange names are okay, but a name like that is just annoying.
