The only set of high mountians, Greywolf Peaks surrounds the entire southern and western coast, encasing the Ironwood forest. Though it doesn't possess eternal snow, its high slopes make the establishment of settlements and roads quite tricky. Despite that they are rich in mineral and ore
Other important thing they hold are secrets. Treasures from the past easily survive in certain pockets and valleys there. Though hard to find they are quite valued by the high society, which attracts some adventurous hunters and dreamers

Despite the significant distance between Loghedge and what's truly the base of the mountains, their presence is already felt by the countless hills that grow on the southwest side of the city
The vegetation of that section of the mountains is much like the one found in the forest, just more scarse. But as one approaches the high peaks more, the trees and thick vegetation are replaced by grass, weeds and though bushes that manage to survive out of the thin layer of earth and moss covering the rocks
The wildlife also changes, being replaced by animals more apt to survive the higher altitudes and more extreme weather conditions

The valleys are a bit different from the rest of the mountains. Msot of them are connected to eachother, as the water carves the landscape and brings the richer soil to the lower altitudes. The temperatures are more berable there as well, since the fast cold wind doesn't come down the slopes very often
But there are a few completely isolated from the rest of the surronding. There aren't natural roads leading to them and the high slopes let little escape. Which means what lives there has faced isolation for a long, long time and it's not uncommon to find species that don't exist anywhere else. But this occurrence is quite rare and very hard to find
