You go to a certain forum, and no matter which one you go to, even the Chatterbox, there is a well known Gaian who is the most popular of that forum.
Have you ever wanted to be that most popular Gaian? I mean, I do nothing but help and donate, help and donate, yet no one from the GD or Q&A can ever remember who I am. I have to start a conversation with someone just to get some attention in some forums.
Let's face facts people, we all want to be well known and popular, but we can't. What could YOU do to be noticed around the site?
Well, this wasn't meant to discuss the desperate people who crave attention, but the fact that some people who deserve a bit of attention don't get it for ignorant reasons.
(I don't care if I'm popular on Gaia. I'm not that active anymore, although I am working on my guild. This is targeting other good Samaritans out there.)
Who do you think gets the most donations of gold and items when questing? Popular Gaians. More people know them for one reason or another, and then fork over all their gold. There are more worthy users, who don't get that advantage and the reasons they aren't popular just show how connected the Internet is to real life issues.

I get enough harassment as it is without being a "popular" member on Gaia. Those are usually the people who get trolled the most, they have more hacking attempts, and stalkers are a big thing with them.
Perhaps that's part of what makes them popular, the drama that goes with them. Some people are just naturals at becoming Gaia's biggest drama queen.
When I see them around, I usually dont pay them much attention. Their groupies scare me, anyway.
If I wanted to be popular, I'm not sure how I would go about it. I'm not drama seeking, I dont have a lot of gold or rare items, and I'm never on Gaia long enough to give a damn about who's on my friends list.

to be popular,
you have to be a big attractive camwhore, be mean, flame people & be an attention whore..
&&
i'm guessing there should be some mystery around your character.
but yeah.
i know who you are.
haven't seen you around much out of this guild though.

I don't really hang out in forums all that much. But from what I gather to be popular in a forum usually involves: being a drama queen, posting a LOT, posting good argumentative (which can go into flaming) posts that make people respond to you- it's just not the normal response.

IDK.
I used to be popular in the PYPs but then stopped going there as much.
I just post blunt/informed responses in the GD but I'm not on there all day as I have a life.
People think I flame but I'm just being blunt.
Somone told me I was an IRL Troll before.
Though I don't exactly know how...
