Takigakure

Unlike most of the other hidden villages, Takigakure is actually hidden, and ways to enter are know by very few. One of the few entrances to this village is located on top of a remote cliff through a waterfall as well as some underwater tunnels. With so many natural barriers, this village is very well defended. The village itself lies beneath the branches of a great oak on the edge of a lake that surrounds the tree. In the past, the main source of power and protection for the village was the large tree that every hundred years produces an elixir called the “hero water”. This supposedly gave the user a large chakra boost to be used whenever the village was in danger. As a side effect though, it ate away at the user's life force and would often kill older shinobi who tried to use it. So though they would become hereos at the time, they wouldn't last long after the fact. This was the reason that Takigakure didn't have very many strong shinobi in the past.

The village's last Takikage banned the use of hereo water due to its deadly side effect. Now, the village's shinobi are learning to be strong on their own and the numbers are once more increasing.
