Hello everyone! Here is where we will discuss how and who we'll choose to join in to the Impulse 101 Art Shop.
The two main parameters we use for judging is art quality and personality. We'd like to have an artist that have some art skills, which will bring in customers and prosper the shop, but we also need an artist that will be active and who we can get along with so as to have minimal or no conflicts within the shop.
Then, we can organize the recruits and place each one into the two categories: Artistic Skill and Personality. Ideally we want to have a recruit that ranks high in both categories.

Note: There's also the "invisible" third category for Activeness, but that can be hard to predict for some people. I think we should still keep that in mind when considering applicants though.
If this all sound complicated, don’t worry about it; we probably won’t have to use the list so formally since we’re only recruiting one person. This is just so everyone can get a general idea of how we judged recruits before. ^^; None of the recruits this time posted more than a couple times in the shop though, so we’ll mainly be judging by art quality.
What we did last time was give each applicant a look and then post a yes, no, maybe, or undecided for each person with some kind of reason for our decision. When there was a majority of “no” for one person, we removed that applicant from the pending list right away so we don’t hold up their time. Depending on how long we take to judge the applicants we can do that this time too, also because the recruiting is still open and on-going until we find the new artist.
I hope I covered anything and it’s not too confusing and long-winded. @_@ If there are any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to post about it!
So I hope you’ll all take a look through the applicants list when you have a chance and post your opinions. But don’t feel rushed and think you have to go through and decide all at once. Just post whenever you’ve come up with something. ^^

What you like to draw: Exclusively animals (pretty much just canines and large cats), which might disqualify me instantly. D: But I figured I'd apply anyway. For my art, I do a pencil sketch and then scan it in. The rest is done in PSP. I... can't shade. xD; If my pictures DO have shading, it's like example #2 - very small and simple. And, as you can tell by #2, I'm terrible at backgrounds. :[

No, but really, I'm 15 years old (sixteen next month, yay) and I've been drawing my whole life. I write a lot, too, but this is an art shop so you don't need to hear about that. biggrin I'm pretty easy to get along with although I admit that sometimes I get intimidated by unfamiliar threads.
What else is there to tell? I guess the usual stuff - I love animals, I have three dogs and one cat, I eat way too much junk food... boring stuff that no one really wants to know. xD

What you like to draw (tools/mediums can be included): Anything Chibi. Males. I have trouble with females, but I can do it. Gaia Avatars, OC's (With good description), or Fan Art. I will draw just about anything as long as its not tacky/rude/explicit. I use pencil colors, Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Illustrator CS. I don't have a tablet so I use the mouse.
How often are you on Gaia?: 1-2 times a day 4-5 hours total.

I'm not going to school at the moment but I have enough hours to be a senior. My majors were CIS and Studio Art Specializing in Graphic Design. o__O I hope to go back to school soon and at least major in Graphic Design. That would be cool. I do have a shop at the moment, but if I was accepted into this shop I would close the other one. Why? Well because I think I would do much better if I only had to keep track of one set of orders. xp

What you like to draw (tools/mediums can be included): For now I'm stuck with real media (pencil, ink, watercolor and color pencils), but I WILL be getting a tablet in the near future.
I like to draw humans, mostly. I love swirly, flowy things, wings, long hair and sparklies, but I'm a very varied artist. I also enjoy the occassional animal, even though I'm not an expert on animal anatomy. I like drawing both boys and girls, and don't object to couple or group pictures.

Introduce yourself: Hi! I'm a 20-year-old girl from Finland. Just graduated from an art school - I've been in one since I was 10. So, that's 10 years of art experience. I'm still not very good, but that's partly why I'm applying - this way I'll be forced to practise! I'm a total art contest whore, I'm overflowing with avies and OCs I've promised to draw... sweatdrop Oh well. I love roleplaying, and take great pride in my literate skills, even though I haven't been very active lately. I also love music, and have a very varied and obscure taste. I can play the piano and the guitar. I'm engaged to a dutch boy called Simon, and I'm planning to move to the Netherlands later this year. I'm currently working: I have 6 hours of work every day, either in morning shift from 9 am to 3 pm, or evening shift from 3 pm to 9 pm. Shifts switch weekly, and I usually have more time for myself during morning shifts since I usually wake up pretty late and thus have less time during evening shift weeks.
Oh, and I'm gonna be an art teacher when I grow up! Currently in the process of looking for a suitable university in the Netherlands. 3nodding

I haven't really looked at the applicants recently, but I thought our first applicant Eff Em had some interesting art. More interesting since she draws animals and that could give variety to the shop, which also happened to be one of the reasons why we recruited Demon Ronin. xD! I would put her undecided in my book.
For x__M o o n . l i g h t`, I think she applied with us before, but we didn't feel her art was practised enough. So I still say no for her. =/
That's all I've properly looked at for now.

My Pain Your Thrill, LilChaosKitten, Princess Fai-fai of China, Shagami: Their art skill still seems too undeveloped, so they're all no for me. *feels like a jerk* T__t
chibi_sai: Her stuff is cute, but I think she'd do better in her own shop? I dunno...
Ubume: She has some nice traditional media work! She could help balance out the digital in our shop since most of us seem to prefer working with digital media. xD But not really enough samples from her... undecided for now.
Julia Constantine: not enough samples? sweatdrop Art skill is still beginning... so I say no for her.
Aeidiniere: I like her art style. She looks like she knows what she's doing, too. A maybe for me, though I am greedy for more samples. xD

I dunno if we should wait. T__t But speaking of inactive artists, Raj has been gone for a long time. D: And Sae kinda disappeared too... Did either of them reply to the guild invite? 'Cause last time I checked they didn't login for a long time, especially Raj.
Well if it counts, Cookie posted in the shop afte Aeidiniere posted her app and said she liked her art. So that could be 3 votes. 8D *shot repeatedly*

I can't see if anyone read the guild invitation 'cuz it wasn't sent by my PM but the guild PM. But if you look at the members, Cookie, Kaiga, and Chibby are already in the guild. Maybe they don't have time to reply yet? o_o
I think we should discuss what to do with inactive artists too (ie. Raj & Sae). Speaking of which, I've been hiatus for a long time T-T *shots multiple times*

I think it might be time to remove Raj and Sae...? Sae last logged in May 17 (time on my friends list), but she's been inactive in the shop before then. Raj I haven't seen since April/exams. I hope she didn't die from them. D: That's more than 2 months, though.

I updated the recruit post in the shop and removed the people we put on the "no" list. I think most of them probably forgot/gave up anyway. sweatdrop

Ubume - Flavorful style.Especially for using all colored pencils and markers as mediums.
Aeidiniere - Great mixing of animals and human make up.Its gorgeous.Though it seems a bit too kidish for me.Idk but still cool as hell
Arysha - Linework seems well but the images look repeatative and gets boring to my eye sometimes.
Scarlet Darkus - Coloring style just doesent do it for me.
Nyralia - Not much variety in poses.Everything seems to be waist up.Can they do full body or anything else but waist up for that matter?That is my question.
