Today I was visiting the avy arena for extra gold. Commenting on the stuff in the arena is a great way to make gold. Some of the avys in there were great. I really enjoyed looking at them, but then they got to some really crappy stuff.
Why do people waste 1k on an avatar that looks like crap? I saw someone with nothing, but event items on. They weren't even put together in a good way. Plus there was no story. It was like they closed their eyes as they were putting items on their avatar.
Does anyone else think that it's pathetic?
I am not talking about the ones who have a well thought out avy. I'm talking about the ones that just wasted their gold.

I used to enter into the arena quite a bit. When I realized I couldn't compete with the advertising I gave up. sweatdrop
But yes I've told tons of people that who've entered before. I've even rated more 1's then I can remember. Unfortunatly people think that others will donate to them if they're in the spotlight or take pity on them.

If they had 1k to waste in the arena, then they have more than enough gold to buy new items.
Reia: The advertising thing sucks a lot of the time. I think that some really crappy avies make it to the top 10 people they go to a billion threads and tell people to vote for them or they have a ton of mules to do it on.
When I entered the arena I didn't think I would win or anything, but seeing all of those lazily made avies made me mad.

Drives me insane when people make crap avatars. Like don't they realize they are wasting 1k. Do they not look at their competition? Jez they could items with that gold they wasted.

I hate it when n00bs actually believe they will win just wearing the starter stuff. It is pathetic. Or I hate it when they have a whole heap of recent MC's and crappy quest/event items and believe it looks good when nothing matches at all. Makes me so mad!
What is also annoying me with the AvA at the moment is that everyone that is winning is doing a cosplay of something, like fair enough it is good but people spend thousands of gold to look good and enter the arena only to be beaten because someone looks like someone else.
And you are right about the advertising thing. Like K!NG from the Suites always wins because his entire guild votes 10 for him. I'm not trying to say his avi's are crap they are good they just dont seem like the winning type to me.

OMG!!! Do not get me started on the cosplay stuff. I want people to be original in the arena. Make up a cool story or something to go with your cosplay. Don't just put "This is Yui from Fushigi Yuugi." Give us something special.
Des, we will check your avi out. It looks really good right now. Oh and like most of you I feel the same way about noobs using event items in the arena with starter outfits. Next time I enter the arena I want to dazzle folks.
Okay, I don't make the best avatars; but I do try to get something that makes me happy. Sometimes an avi will represent my mood. I know it sounds crazy, but it's true.
As far as K!ng goes, I have mixed feels about the outfits put into the arena. Some are very good and some I think are only there because of the votes from the members of the Suites. I'm not going to hate on
K!ng. Nope, I'm not going to do that. Main reason is because I can't make avies that good hehe.

Yay! I am in the arena! It is looking alright so far too. Though it has only been a day. I'm sure a whole heap of cosplays will win again.

The winner was a cosplay but most of the others weren't. It wasn't like the other week when the entire top 10 were cosplays.

I really want people that have great avatars to do good. Plus, I am tired of seeing tons of cosplay in the winner's circle. Some talented people do good with their original cosplay, but it is quite depressing when 10,000 people copy them.
