1. Getting started
Please note that this guide is for world 6 only.

If you are new to this game, I suggest you go through the Tutorial to learn the basic control of this game. After that go to read the help first. Most of the information regarding the Buildings, Units, Points, etc can found in the help.

However, I had made a quick reference here for those who familiar in strategy game and lazy to read the help:

Initially, your village will look like this

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Your will have a Village Headquarter level 1, Timber camp level 1, Clay pit level 1, Iron mine level 1, Farm level 1, Warehouse level 1 and a Hiding place level 1.

At the beginning, focus on the resources first. Try to up the Timber camp and Clay pit to at least level 5. If you scare getting attack, you can build Wall, but normally at beginning state no one will attack. Everyone is trying to get as many resources as their can.

2. Buildings

    Building Tree:

Village Headquarters - The higher the level of your headquarters, the faster the constructions will be finished.
Farm - The higher its level the more villagers can be supplied.
Timber camp - The higher its level the more wood is produced.
Clay pit - The higher its level the more clay is produced.
Iron mine - The higher its level the more iron is produced.
Warehouse - The higher its level the more resources can be stored.
Hiding place - The bigger it is, the more resources and troops can be hide from being plundered/scout by your enemies.
Wall - The higher its level the better the basic defense of your village.
Rally point - Here you can command your armies.
Statue - Here you can train your Paladin. (Only can have 1 Paladin)
Market - On the market you can trade with other players.
Smithy - Here you can research your Infantry, Cavalry and Siege weapens troops.
Barracks - Recruit infantry. The higher its level the faster the recruitment.
Stable - Recruit cavalry. The higher its level the faster the recruitment.
Workshop - Produce rams and catapults. The higher its level the faster the recruitment.
Academy - Educate noblemen which is the key to conquer other villages.

    3. Troops
The troops information you can get from the help: http://tw6.tribalwars.net/help.php?mode=units

But there is some hidden information. Which is not shown in the help!

    1. Weaponry research must be done before you can recruit the troops.

All the research can be done in the Smithy. By default, the Spear fighters is researched once the Barracks is built and the Swordmen is researched once the Smithy is built.

The example below shows that the Spear, the Sword and the Axe has been research. In order to recruit Bowmen, you must research the Bow which needs 640User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show., 560User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. 2. Each player may only have one Paladin.
I don't how many of you had click the Paladin at the Help->Units->Paladin. It is written very clear there. This mean even if you had conquer few villages, yet you still can only have one Paladin.

    3. Gold Coins needed to create the Noblemen.
Gold Coin is created by a packages of 28,000User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show., 30,000User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. and 25,000User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. each in the academy. Once a Gold Coin is created, it cannot be stolen, dissipated or destroyed. Your first Noblemen can be created with one Gold Coin, but the second or above, you need more Gold Coin.

    Here is the formula:
    1 Noblemen - 1 = 1 Gold Coin
    2 Noblemen - 1 + 2 = 3 Gold Coins
    3 Noblemen - 1 + 2 + 3 = 6 Gold Coins
    4 Noblemen - 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 Gold Coins
    5 Noblemen - 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 15 Gold Coins
    and so on...

    4. Points
Each time you upgrade or create a building, points will be added to you village. The points information is in the help: http://tw6.tribalwars.net/help.php?mode=points

The points also defines your ranking. You can basically judge a village by its points. But points doesn't mean anything in a battle. A village can have as many as 1000 troops with a 72 points where a 500 points of village maybe only have 10 troops.

Remember, points only count on buildings not troops!

    5. Tribe Invitation
Well, if you are not abandoning your village, I am sure that you will receive an invitation of tribe. If you village grow pretty well and fast, you will receive a large number of invitation very day. Of cause you have to rights to accept or reject the invitation. You can also change or leave a tribe.

But do keep in mind that each time you changed a tribe, it will be recorded in Tribalwars database. Other players can easily see the number of your tribe changes. And there is a top 20 list of most "Tribe changes" players.

So, if you want to have a good reputation, do choose the tribe carefully. Here is some tips of choosing a tribe:
    i) Use the tools to check the tribe (I will cover this in Part II)
ii) Is the tribe members nearby you? This will help in supporting resources and troops, and backup.
iii) How sincere is the inviter. Did he send you a mail introduce and describe the objective of his tribe of just simply send an invitation?

You can always check the tribe invitation by clicking the "Tribe" on the top-right side of your screen. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

    6. Mail and reports
Similarly like Tribe when there is new/update Reports or Mail, it will show an icon notification.

Below sample shows that you have new/update Tribe, Reports and Mail:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
This one means no any updates:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The Mail is like other mail service so I believe most of you familiar with it.

And the Reports, you can read the help: http://tw6.tribalwars.net/help.php?mode=reports

Anyway, the Attacks/defense Reports is more interesting:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
This report shows that I wons the battle with 5 Axemen and 1 Paladin and haul 150 total of resources.

    7. Defense
No doubt, the Wall is a very good defense. A level 1 Wall without any defense troops can hold up to 7 Spear Fighter (with 100% morale). Moreover, the Wall also increases the defensive strength of your troops. The table of factor is in the help: http://tw6.tribalwars.net/popup_building.php?building=wall

As for building a defensive troops here is a little tips:
    Archer

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cavalr Defense 55
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Archer Defense 45

Def 100 means that it render the most popular attack type completely useless. Thus, this combo gives you the most effective defense of all the types of defense potentially needed.

    Spearmen
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. General Defense 15
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cavalry Defense 45
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Defense Archer 20

Although Spearmen takes advantage in Cavalry Defense but the General Defense is low compare to Archer.

    Another tips:
    Paladin

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Cavalry Defense 400
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Defense Archer 150
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Speed 10

Paladin is the best defensive troop at the beginning state. To create a Paladin you only need to build the Statue. And the Statue can be build once you start the game as long as you have enough materials.

Please note that the Paladin is a very good supportive troop too because it can move as fast a cavalry troops.

Tribalwars only have two type of attack and defense, the Infantry and the Cavalry.
Infantry is the total attack of all your Infantry troops: Spear Fighters, Sowrdmen, Axemen and Archer.
While Cavalry means Scout, Light cavalry, Mounted archer and Heavy cavalry.

    8. Attack
The most cost effective attack troops is Axemen. If you want to play fast attack, can build more Axemen.

But before you make an attack, you have to understand what is Morale and Luck first.
The explanation in the help is
"The purpose of the morale is to protect active small players from the attacks of very strong players. If a very strong player attacks a very weak player, his troops fight with a lower level of efficiency, because many of his warriors refuse to follow these dishonorable commands, or simply underestimate the strength of the enemy."
    What is that?

    Morale actaully is:
    1. The formula of Moral is calculated on the points of the attacker and the points of the defender at the time of launch (displayed moral) and troop landing (actual combat moral).
    2. Morale is calculated by village point size, not by army strength.
    3. If a player has more than one village, the Morale is the sum of the points of his villages.
    4. In other word, Moral is based on PLAYER points.
    5. Attacking an abandon villages, Morele is always 100%
    Example:
If you attack a player's village which is lower point than you, your Morale will drop. Consequently, you troops will not fight in 100% strenght. Say your Morale is only 50%, this means your total attack is Infantry + Cavalry x 50%.

Luck is completely random. Nothing you can do about this. So, pray yourself

By the way, you can always send the Scout to gather the information about your enemies' villages before launching an attack. The information of scouting is in the help: http://tw6.tribalwars.net/help.php?mode=fight

    9. Farming
Farming means send troops to attack a village and grab its resources. It is a very good way to grow your resources fast at the beginning. However, there are some tactics:

    1. Only farm those abandoned villages
Abandoned village means no player's village. In other word, no defense at all. But be careful if the abandoned village is 72 points or above. Because it might have a Wall (level 1). Although you still won the battle but you might lost some troops. So it is not worth if you grab some resources, meanwhile wasting resources recruiting new troops.

The minimum requirement to build the Wall:
    Headquarter level 3: 14
    Timber camp level 1: 6
    Clay pit level 1: 6
    Iron mine level 1: 6
    Farm level 1: 5
    Warehouse level 1: 6
    Hiding place level 1: 5
    Barracks level 1: 16
    Wall level 1: 8
    -------------------
    Total: 72 points

    2. Never send your defensive troops to farm
You can leave your Swordmen and Archer, and your Paladin in village and send the Spear Fighters and Axemen to farm just in case someone attacks your village while farming.

Axemen has high attack point. It can reduce your lost in case the village has Wall. Spear Fighters has the highest carrying capacity among the Infantry troops. So there is no point sending Swordmen or Archer to farm as thier carry capacity only 3/5 and 2/5 of the Spear Fighters.

3. Timing
To prevent having a huge lost being attacked by others, you must time your farming very well. For example you have 20 Spear Fighters and 20 Axemen, what you can do is, send the first batch of 10 Spear Fighters and 10 Axemen to farm and wait. While they are on the way back with the resources, you can start launching the second batch.

The duration of a farming process is depending on the distance of the abandoned village. The "arrival time" will be shown before you confirm the attack. Thus, the total time = arrival time x return time.

For example, if the arrival time is 2 hours, then your troops need a total of 4 hours to completely return to your village.

So, do farm those abandoned village that closed to your village.

10. Conquer
To conquer a village, you must use the Nobleman. Therefore no need to worry about you village being conquered at the beginning. No one is able to create the Nobleman so soon.

To create a Nobleman you need a level 20 Smithy, level 10 Market, level 20 Headquarter and the Academy. It takes like 18 hours to build a level 19 and 20 hours to build a level 20 Smithy. The Academy takes about 8 hours to build. Your Nobleman takes another 3 hours to build.

OK, back to the topic, how to conquer another player's village.

First of all you must understand what is Loyalty.
1. Loyalty mean, that the village and all of its people are true to their owner.
2. Every village has a loyalty of 100.
3. The loyalty will drop by 20-35 every time being attacked by a nobleman.
4. If the village's loyalty is under 0, the village changes its owner. The attacker gets the village and the old owner gets a new little village!
5. Loyalty raises automatically by 1 point per hour (at speed 1) until it's back at 100.

So, I am sure that you know the answer now. Yes! Sending Nobleman to attack the village until its loyalty become 0.

But there are few things you have to take note of:
1. A Nobleman moves at 35 mins per field (the slowest unit).
2. Loyalty raises 1 point per hour.
This mean you have to do as many as 3-7 attacks depending on the distance of the village from you in order to conquer it. For example, if you trying to conquer a village that takes 4 hours of traveling time, then one round trip will be 8 hours. If each attack you only reduce its Loyalty by 20, you will need 5 round, total of 40 hours. But don't forget, before you next troop researched there, that village has regained 8 Loyalty (1 per hour).

Instead of 5 round, you need 8 round, total of 64 hours!

11. Final words
Tribalwars is definitely not a one-man-show game. Do choose the tribe carefully and plan well before you declare war!
