Whilst discussing in a random thread, what has happened to Ian, I jokingly suggested that perhaps Ian isn't coming back as himself.
The more I thought about it, the more it seemed like it could be plausible.

So let me walk you through the "G-Z Virus Theory"

- Jonny K & Gino combine as they fall from the Tower of Gambino.
- Gino's new physiology saves him from drowning and he's found by Ian and Sasha.
- Ian and Gino dislike each other as they vie for Sasha's affections.
- The fight - Gino & Jonny K split back into two people.
- The blast attracts the attention of the Zurg.

These are facts.

The speculations start now.
- Having been combined with his Son for so long, Gambino has a lingering attachment to Sasha and a lingering hatred of his rival Ian.
- The Zurg Mother and Gambino begin a friendship and start selling soft drinks.
** This is OBVIOUS proof that Gambino & the Zurg possess the ability to turn Gaians into Zurg and vice-versa** (we do not know for sure if this works on Zurgs who aren't Gaian).

FACTS
-Ian is in hiding
-"Flarn" Alien 09 <---- (1 no away from the almighty X) is killed.

SPECULATION.

-Gambino has gotten hold of Ian and is experimenting on him. When 09 is shot down, he and Mother manipulate Ian's DNA with their knowledge gained from the soft drinks and force Ian's conciousness to be repressed inside, allowing a mentally unstable Flarn to control the hybrid form.

The GZ Virus allows them to merge Zurg and Gaian into one hybrid being!

Well - that's the theory anyway!

Wow, It's bizzare, but thought out - and awesome at the same time! xd I could so see something like this happen too.

Would explain the strange actions of Ian as of late ...

Indeed - I think it could be a sort of trans-species Dr.Jeckyll / Mr. Hyde act, with Flarn being the more dominant of the pair and controlling the body (giving it the Zurg colouring) - but with the Ian persona vying for control making him act crazy 3nodding
