 Welcome to Hogwarts!
Before you begin your studies you will need to report to the Chamber of Reception upon your arrival. There you shall be sorted into your houses, of which there are four.
Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
Please ensure that the utmost attention be made to the list of requirements attached herewith.

Additional Rules
It is very important that everyone reads this.There will be No Role Playing that you are the long lost son or daughter of Voldemort!!! or that you're even RELATED to him! scream That has been done too many times in other Harry Potter RP's. Why? It just pisses us off! It just isn't possible. Please do not do it here.
I also ask that you do not revive Sirius Black. As hard as it is for me to say this, he has already crossed over to the other side and will not be back. crying ((edit: Ok so this must mean its after OotP.. sweatdrop So this means that Harry and the gang are in their 6th year..just so we don't get confused.)) ((That's not confirmed yet!! But still no Sirius until we know for certain his fate))
New Edit! We are resetting the event year of this rp to about Harry's third year, so yes Sirius IS still alive but he's just escaped Azkaban and nobody knows of his innocence yet. No character ages need to be changed, just be warned of the setting. This also gives us concrete knowlege of who the professors will be, though all will pretty much be NPCs until someone volunteers to play them.
I want to try and follow the rules of the Harry Potter Universe that has been set down by JK Rowling herself. Which also means that there can not be any sort of apparating on Hogwarts grounds. Unless you are a Houself, as I understand it, that is an entirely different sort of magic that they use.
If you feel that you can't follow these simple guidelines I suggest you find another role play to join. I hope you understand where I am coming from on this. Thank you!

((Ok I haven't quite figured out what to do in regards to classes. I think it would be a good idea if I made up a fake schedule, just so that everyone knows what types of classes are available to them. It would be great if we had enough people to have each year in their own class. In case people aren't sure of what types of class they should be in I will do my best to break it down...a work in progress no doubt. The days and times are only for reference purposes. >.<))

((and here we go kicking things off... yay!))
Kamaria stood on the frontsteps of Hogwarts, releasing the handle of her trunk and bending over slightly to catch her breath. She always hated this time of the month, she tired out so quickly and as she wasn't allowed to perform magic outside of school just yet she'd drug her trunk all the way from Hogsmeade. True school wasn't due to start yet, but Dumbledore had granted her permission to arrive early. She was grateful when a house elf appeared and took her trunk for her, and expressed such with a tired smile as she was still incapable of speech. After a moment, Kamaria stood and tucked her hair behind one ear while pulling out her letter from Dumbledore. "Ravenclaw..." she muttered to herself before taking off in the direction of the Ravenclaw common room, which she knew because she'd spent a good deal of time memorising the school map already. Bad enough to transfer into a new school in her fifth year, there was no need to appear like a nervous first-year.
Finding the common room with no problems, Kamaria gave the password to its guardian and entered the blue and bronze area. After looking around a moment, Kamaria headed towards the girls' dormitory rooms, quickly finding her own which she'd been told she would be sharing with one other who stayed at Hogwarts year round. Wish I could be so lucky, she thought as she knocked on the door in case her new room mate was in.

Mira had been called up to the Headmaster's office and told of a new arrival to the school, who was to be in her year and in her house. She had been told only bits and pieces of the girl's past, that she had a sort of condition and that she was expected to help when possible, and told that she would share her room with her. Mira honestly hadn't minded that at all, as she expressed excitement at the news, which had earned her a fatherly smile and a quiet thank you before being dismissed.
By the time she'd returned to her room to contemplate the news, another bed had been added and made up for the new arrival. It looked so different that it had for years, as she'd pretty much lived in this room alone for the last 6 years. Quickly, she'd gathered her stray things and straightened up her side of the room before calling Raditz from his perch, asking him to keep an eye out for the new arrival. She had no idea it would be so soon as just then a knock on the door came. "Come in!"

Kamaria quietly opened the door, suddenly nervous about meeting this girl. She didn't make friends very easily, and as sad as it was to say she really didn't have any friends to speak of unless you counted her co-workers. Shyly she entered, closing the door soundlessly behind her. "H-hello," she stammered, almost glad for the fact that she knew it was next to impossible for her to blush when she was feeling this weak.

Mira was surprised to see someone who looked about as far removed from being a witch than this girl did with her ragged clothing that seemed to hang limply on body. However, she recovered quickly and said, "Hi! Nice to meet you...I take it you're Kamaria? I'm Mirage, but you can call me Mira for short." Taking a closer look at her face, she realized that this girl looked like she was either coming down with something or just getting over it, and emotionally radiated an extreme sense of exhaustion with a bit of fear mixed in. Bustling forward, almost like a mother hen, she let go of Raditz who flew over to his perch, and took her by the shoulders gently guiding her towards the new bed. "Why don't you lay down, you don't look so well...do you want something to eat? Drink? I can run down to the kitchens and bring you back some food, if you'd like some..."

Kamaria allowed herself to be led, mostly because she was too tired to resist. "Please, call me Kama, and it's alright I'm fine. The walk from Hogsmeade just took a bit out of me is all. I wouldn't want to put you out." She thanked whatever gods watching over her that her stomach didn't growl too loudly at the mention of food.

Mira, however, had already sensed the girl's hunger, supressed as it was beneath other emotions, but it had flared up just long enough for her to know that Kama was hungry, despite her words. "You're not putting me out at all. In fact...tell me what you'd like, and I'll send Raditz to to the kitchens to inform the house elves." At the mention of his name, the phoenix flew over to settle next to Kama, the look in his eyes telling her he would go no matter what she said, so she might as well be truthful. Singing a gentle note, he urged her to speak and rubbed his head against her arm.

Mira nodded, "Yep...something you'll just have to get used to, rooming with me. Raditz? Please ask the elves to bring some sandwiches and a couple flasks of pumpkin juice up right away." With that the bird took off and disappeared in a burst of flame. Looking back at Kama, she said, "I'm hungry too, and it's nice to have company for a change. Sometimes, living in the castle isn't what it's all cracked up to be when you don't have anyone to hang out with cause everyone's off on holiday with their families." Settling on her bed, she sat with her knees pulled up to her chin. "If I seems too...annoying, just lemme know and I'll back off."

"Yeah, Dumbledore told me you stay here year round. It must be nice," Kamaria commented, giving Mira a small smile. "No matter how hard I tried, Madame Maxine never would let me."
