Hi, I'm new to Gaia and the guild. I was wondering if anyone read the Silmarillion and what you thought of it. I read about 2/3 and then accidentally lost the book during a move. I'll have to pick it up again. I loved the description of how the world was created in the beginning and the part about the music.

I really want to read it. I'm going to maybe get it at the bookstore or borrow it from the library. xd

I remember starting to read the Silmarillion, but at that time it bored me to death. I read the Hobbit about a year later and loved that one. I intend to read the Silmarillion sometime in the near future again - or at least, try to read it again.
The beginning is rather boring, I agree.

I think it takes a lot of discipline to read it front to back. I still have it on my desk. I've only read the intro. xd

I've read it a couple of times as well. The first time I got dazzled by all the different names and places, but after a few times it all makes soooo much sense! I love books that can surprise you when you re-read it.
