I was going to add this to the look-alikes, but it didn't quite fit...
The Smurfs are a bunch of small, blue men with one woman. So are the Feegle.
Most of the Smurfs are nameless, with a few exceptions...Papa Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Hefty Smurf....Most of the Feegles are nameless, with a few exceptions...Rob Anybody, Duft Willie, Big Yan....
The Smurfs have a bard, of sorts...the Feegle have a Gonnagle.
However...their personalities are quite different....
So...what would happen if you left a few bottles of Special Sheep Liniment outside the Smurf's village?

XDDD now Im imagining the Feegles running into a smurf village. Oh the ammusment.
The smurfs are kinda whimps. The Feegles would slughter them. Oh! and what about that wizard that kept trying to get the smurfs. What would happen if he went to get one of the feegles? Hed probably end up being found face down in a river or mud puddle somewhere. rofl this is gonna ammuse me for days now.

I just finished Wintersmith, so now I know the Feegles will sing too! And none of this sissy "Laaaa, Laaaa, la Laaa Laaa Laaa" stuff......

I had the idea that the Feegles are the BlackSheep of the Smurf family. And the Feegles are embarrased by their Sissy cousins.

Actually, pTerry's gone on record as saying the Feegles came from the inability to get Wee Mad Arthur (Feet of Clay) out of his head. No one's ever asked him to comment on a Smurfs connection though, and I can't say I'd put it past him. I mean, *you* try musing for a while on how a tribe of wee blue men (and one woman) could theoretically keep from going extinct. Add several drinks of your choosing, if necessary. Feegles are what I'd like to think I'd think of (wow, that sounds confusing). I mean, this is the kind of s**t you get used to thinking up out of whatever's on hand, Kaiser Soze-style, anytime you're running a game (gamer geeks represent!). Obviously, some people are better at it than others...and I'm thinking of a certain GM from my past with a really obvious phallic obsession... stare I'd kill to be in one of pTerry's games.
I'm having a bit of a bubble in that regard myself, since I *finally* got to run a campaign from start to finish (I'm a gaming group killer, and no one knows why). I came up with some pretty memorable npcs, and my husband actually *enjoyed* getting completely backstabbed and used. That's the last time he'll ever suggest things like the traditional "you wake up in a cell with all your equipment gone". Next I'm gonna make him raid the holy temple of the Screaming Priests of Eeee. Not that he knows that. But I can gloat here, because he doesn't post in this forum.

Chill morte - Oh Lord, the wizard. Now there was something I had all but forgotten. It's possible there's a connection, but frankly they look more to me like they're miniature Celts. Well, let's face it, they pretty much are. Blue woad tattoos, kilts, whatever. And they're short because, well... that's your stereotypical welshman...

You forgot the fact the feegles have a hevy glaswegan accent. defenatly scotish little bastards that were even thrown out of hell.
I still just find it ammusing of the wizard picking up a Feegle insted of a smurf...

I never thought about it before but yes the feegles DO have a lot in common with smurfs.
I'm thinking that's more of a side-note though, I don't feel so sure that's what they're meant to be.
In any case it's something to think about xd !

Speaking of Smurfs, I actually have a cousin who is named after the wizards cat, Azrael.
