I believe in a philosophy called Salamism (self proclaimed name, not official) this is the idea that Islamic Socialism and secular socialism need to unite to survive. It also promotes the concepts of ecological movements, pacifism, and feminist ideals. This is, in my notion, the only way to unite a constantly splintering ideology. Although we do tend to gravitate to the ideas of Comrade Trotsky.

By the way, although Marx believed that religion to be "Opium to the masses" it dosn't clash with religious beliefs. I do believe in pluralism, but some Islamic philosophies need to be introduced into the mix. I just think we should bridge the gap of the secular and non-secular instead of segragating the religious. By the way, I catch enough flack from idiots about being a Muslim in America, so don't put fuel on that fire. It only leads to facist hate spewing.

SoViEtTaNkT34 Libya? Islamic socialism is anti-marxist atleast according to them..... Marxism isn't the only school of socialist thought. I believe that Communism is about uniting the people like Islam. I.e. the swahili word "harambee" or comming together. Atheism is good and all, but other religions have schools of socialist thought (christianity and Buddhism).

Funny story: In the french revolution the de-christianising sanscullottes went into certain peasant villages, stripped the churches of their steeples and bells, melted them down into shot and shot the village priest with said holy bullets!

Sorry for sounding offensive but I couldn't stand the stupidity and hypocrisy of that comment, I see neo-nazis, fascists, capitalist in this guild that post more than actual communist member in here. Why don't we kick them out then? they don't have a place in a socialist group either.

And if you want, you can ask Gallenger when he comes in how many times I asked him to kick the non "NCS" people back when he owned the guild, you can ask Kage, Obach(now steve sage I think), Annoying, hell, I think I may have even said that gallenger himself should have been kicked once or twice. Go back about 8 or so pages, I am sure you will see many threads where I have advocated the kicking of people.
And I would do now, except I myself would be kicked and the others let back in.

Take into accout history before you doubt religious philosophy and its relivance to running a state. For instance Akbar the Great and the Mogul Empire. It was a nation run on Islamic principals although the vast majority of its citizens were Hindus. I don't propose we inforce a Khomeini like nation I just think that cleaning up alcohol and allowing the faithful to worship would be good.
Funnier Story: When the Prophet Muhhamad (pbwh) was the leader of Medina, it concisted of very few Muslims... yet he tolerated the Jews, Christians, and even Idolaters and their right to exsist.
I only wish to unite the Religious and secular under one banner!
