A gray colored mouse in striped overralls rested on the sily beach sand lazily as he watched the sun slowly slip past the horizon and cast colorful splotches on the vast sky. He let out a yawn and stratched his head before taking a nibble of his snicker doodle.

Kai's ear twitched slightly as a slight breeze ruffled his fur and the sweet scent of a flower wafted his way.

Delilah walked slowly down the shores enjoying herself. The beach was one of her favorite places, it was really calming. She looked for shells she could use for a necklace, bracelet, or just to look at while quietly humming to herself. She didn't notice anyone there, she was obsorbed in the peacefulness.

A sweet breeze carried the scent of flowers to Kai's nose and he began sniffing the air weirdly. He was cruious as to what the scent really was, was it perfume or an actual flower? And if it was a flower, he wondered where it was because Kai was always at the beach and he usually only spelled hot dogs and the salty ocean air. Following the faint scent, he looked up and saw another mouse in the distance.

She had long golden like hair in a loose braid and a simple pretty dress. He inched closer to get a better look and noticed that she had a bridge of freckles across her nose. Inching a tad closer, he sniffed the air and opened his mouth.

"Hiya."

Delilah jumped at the sound of another mouse's voice. She looked up quickly to see who was there. She didn't recognize him, but he looked friendly. "Oh! Hello," Delilah said suprised. "You scared me, I mean; I didn't know you were there!" she continued and smiled sheepishly.

Kai smiled slightly and scurried over to her. Sticking a paw into the pocket on his overrals, he pulled out a chunk of Snicker Doodle and nibbled on it awkwardly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Kai," he blinked at her and pulled out anotehr piece of cookie, "Want some?"

"Nice to meet you Kai. I'm Delilah..." she said and watched the mouse pull out a cookie from his overalls and offer some to her. "Sure, I mean, yes please." she said politely and accepted the cookie. It was a snickerdoodle, one of her favorites. Delilah nibbled the cookie and looked out to the horizon on the sea.

Kai flashed her a bright smile and looked around before simply sitting down right where he was. It's not like it mattered if he had sand in his pockets anyways, even when he didn't go to the beach, there was STILL sand in his pockets.

Looking up at Delilah he swallowed his mouthful of cookie and said, "Oh, nice to meet you Delilah, that's a pretty name. So, what brings you here?"

Delilah looked back to Kai and replied "Oh, just roaming the beach like I always do.. trying to find shells and stuff. Delilah remained standing and looking around aimlessly. "What about you?" she asked.

"Oh, that sounds cool. Well, I dunno. I practically live at the beach," He chuckled softly, "I'm always here." He leaned back lazily and yawned. Looking up at the colorful but darkening sky, he sighed, "Ugh, another day gone."

"Really? I wonder why I haven't seen you here before..." Delilah turned to the sunset sky and smiled. "Yeah." she said and thought of something to say. The sunset was goregous, it always was in her opinion. There was a slight breeze as the sun sunk lower and lower in the sky. "Well it is beautiful.. I mean; in my opinion." Delilah said and sighed also, with content.

"Oh I know. I'm wondering why I haven't seen you either. Huh, I guess we must always be on different sides of the beach or something then," He scratched his head and smiled a content smile, "Ahhhh. The sunset's always really pretty. I like watching it at the beach best because it looks cooler with the blue water."

"Probably. Well I'm glad I did meet you." Delilah said. She was glad, he was a nice person. "Yeah, the beach has this funny way that it can totally take me out of the rest of the world. Its really beautiful and calming." Delilah sat down. "Thanks for the cookie, it was really good" she said.

Kai thought about it for a few seconds before smiling again, "Yeah, I'm glad I met you too," He nodded, "Oh, I know! It's like the scenery just gobbles you up for hours."

He popped the last piece of snicker doodle into his mouth and savored the sweet flavor, "No problem. Snicker doodles are my favorite so I always carry some with me. And well, a cookie always tastes better when you share it with someone else."

[For some reason, I forgot how to spell 'scenery'. o-o]

"Yeah, it does." Delilah said to answer both of Kai's comments. Then there was a silence as the sun slipped away past of the horizon leaving only bits of color in the cloud and the rest a darkened sky. Delilah stood up. "I think I better go, I don't want it to be too dark on my walk home" she brushed the sand off of her and smiled. "Do you live around here?" Delilah asked Kai, but then thought it was a rather stupid question since Kai did mention he comes here all the time.

He shrugged nonchalantly, "Eh, sorta. My real home is waaaaay out in the valley, but I kinda just crash in all sorts of places. Vagaboundly of me now that I think about it. Do you live really close to the beach or something?"

He cocked his head to one side and waited for her response.
