Two categories. Real words, and words that you've just randomly come up with deliberately or completely by accident. If it's a fake word, ensure that you come up with a meaning for it.

This week, my word is BESMIRCH.

Fake word of the week/month (depends on how long its novelty lasts) is a word Amanda accidently misspelt, and for that it is in joint ownership. That word is RESITATE. Resitate means to hesitate to resonate.

Resitate? That's a good one!

Let's see...

My favorite word for this week would probably be "Heal". Cuz my hand is actually healing up rather nicely. mrgreen

My fake word would be "Trumond". It's not exactly a meaningful word so far cuz it's what I chose to name a certain species of animal who live in one of my fantasy stories. They are kinda like moles but with characteristics of other animals as well. Their most striking feature is that their skeletons are not made of purely biological material, so they can dig through solid rock without much problem. 3nodding

Recitation is my real word.

recesitation is my fake word. In school we have "recitation" which is a period that compensates for our school's lack of a science period. But nobody knew what it meant, and thought it was recesitation. Definition: a form of CPR 3nodding

Bulkhead - the walls inside a ship. For some reason, to me it also sounds like an insult. confused

Wibble - generally means "hmm?" or "oh well" *shrug*.
Ie: "Wibble?" or *shrug* "Wibble."

And ahh! Bright blue...my eyes!!!

I am going to say "fiddlesticks" because it is not just a funny word but has a funny usage as well. Fiddlestick is a real word, but pluralizing it seems quite odd, since it only takes one stick (or bow) to play a fiddle (or violin). Even more oddly is why someone would say "fiddlesticks" when they get angry. Maybe some violin music would calm them down.

Encarta dictionary has the following definitions for fiddlestick and fiddlesticks respactively:

fiddlestick: 1. violin bow: a bow for playing a violin; 2. thing of little value: something that is unimportant or worthless

fiddlesticks: used to express annoyance: used to express mild annoyance, disagreement, or impatience ( dated informal )

My favourite word of the week would have to be "Thimblewit" I was looking through the dictionary to try and find some word, cannot even remember what it was, and I found this word, I've used it ever since, it means some one who's wit could fit into a thimble.

My made up word would be foeple, (pronunced more like foe- pole) it is not actually a word but rather a race of fantasy creatures I have created for a fantasy story/novel I am currently writing, entertaining folks those foeples. xp

Right now, I think I'm liking the word "luff". It's meaning is the flapping of the sails on a tall ship. They luff in the wind. People also use it as slang substituting love for luff, but I like the proper meaning...probably because I'm absolutely in love with sailing ships.

Made up word this time...snuffle. Why? Because my dog makes that kind of sound when he's sniffing about the place, either indoors or out in the garden. He makes a snuffling kind of noise along with a few snorts and the occasional sneeze.

Sock(s) - Why? Let's take a look...

* Usually people lose one SOCK out of a pair.
* Some people have a habit of wearing odd SOCKS on occasions (Mandy?)
* Sometimes used as a term to hit someone - "I'm gonna SOCK you."
* Sometimes used as a well-known statement - "my SOCKS keep falling down!" (and I've been having that kind of bother recently).

I was going to have "kerfuffle" as my made up word, but unfortunately it's a registered word...at least on Dictionary.com - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/kerfuffle

Then I wanted to use "bop" when it comes to striking someone (aka, "bopping someone over the head is amusing"). But alas! Dictionary.com wins again - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bop

Argh! Even "wibble" is in there! http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/wibble

Ok!

Echpfleh - meaning "whatever."
Pronunciation - etch-p-fleh
Sounds kind of like someone sneezing coughing when they've got a really bad cold as well doesn't it? confused

My favorite made up word is yoink. It is what Homer Simpson says when he grabs or takes something. It has become a part of my regular vocabulary, and probably many other peoples' too.
