In light of the upcoming movie, I was wondering if anyone has read the Golden Compass, and it's sequals The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. I have read the Golden Compass and the Subtle Knife and half of The Amber Spyglass (it was about a year and a half ago, and everything got really confusing).

I read the Golden Compass. And that was it. It was pretty good. But not my favorite.
The movie looks...interesting. The graphics look AMAZING! I promised I would never ever see a movie based on abook I read a long time ago. But I might see this one...

i havent read any of His Dark Materials but at least then i wont be complaining that they got the whole movie wrong like in Eragon.

True, I havn't read Eragon, but I have heard that the movie was much different. This movie actually looks like it will be pretty close to the book though.

The Eragon movie was like a bad 80's fantasy movie and was a load of crap.
On another note: I've been going through a steampunk stage and realized how nice the Golden Compass looks from a steampunk's perspective.But it has airships, goggles, and gears. And the graphics still look beautiful. xD
And I don't know how we
separate the lies from the truth

I saw the movie yesterday, and it was great! It was so close to the book it was scary. Except they ended it in the wrong place. And yes Lechar, the graphics were amazing.
