I've been losing more and more sleep lately. ... AND IT'S PISSING ME OFF! So, I thought that maybe if I heard what some of you guys do to help you sleep, I'd get an idea or two... So far the only thing that's helped even a tinyest bit was opening a window... But it only helped once. And by that time it was already 3am... and then I woke up at 8am. I always wake up at 8am... I can't help it... BTW: the sun sets at 11:18pm and rises at 3:03 am... so that kinda sucks.

If the sun sets like that... then where do you live? 0.o Most of the time, I just accept my inabiltiy to sleep and go do something. But if I really need to sleep, I grab Joshua and hope for the best. sweatdrop But I doubt you have a Joshua, so try some honey&tea. Really relaxing. 3nodding (sometimes)

I moved my bed. That worked, for some reason. Also try working out. It works, but you have to buy a license. You know. For these guns: Editor's note: That joke will never get old.

For these guns: Editor's note: That joke will never get old.*BADUM TCH* Good joke there. biggrin But... I can't move my bed... my room is too small... if I moved my bed, then I'd have to move my desk, and my desk weighs a ton... But I remember that it worked for me too, before... I used to move my bed every month. biggrin In the old house. @ PentagonBuddy: I live in Finland. The sun is evil, since I have yet to get proper curtains... I have a sheet over my window... You know, maybe that's part of the problem..... I should just cover the window with wood. It would solve so many problems. biggrin

Working out. Maybe not to the extent Yngwie is talking about... Even though I rarely have problems getting to sleep, I would have terrible dreams or just wake up every hour and fun stuff like that. Sooo I would do martial arts and stuff and completely exhaust myself. That doesn't work for some people, though.
Eat turkey and bananas. Tryptophan is your friend.
Uhhhm, and then I know some people who don't sleep at night because they're insecure/afraid, but if they have someone else in the room they feel secure enough to sleep.
EDIT: Oh yeah, sex is a good sleep aid, too.

Eheheh...
Cuddling usually works for me. Or *blush* sleeping between the two body pillows I own. My insomniac tendencies are more from paranoia.
And Yngwie and Reko are right. well...good, completed sex will make you sleep.

Eh, goes back to exhaustion. Probably doesn't need to be good, but preferred indeed.

Wow, and here I was, thinking that Hawaiians reproduced via binary fission.
My world has been turned on its ear.

For a second there...Loki looked like hunter....
anyway...I'm used to living down town, so my room can't be 100% dark. This does not mean I'm afraid of the dark, I'm just used to going to sleep with some light and background noise.

Sweet god, Yngwie....that picture...uhng. *blerg*
To sleep? If I'm desperate, I mess with temperature. Hot, hot bath/shower. Hot enough my skin turns all bright pink and I steam when I climb out. Quick towel-off, scamper to bedroom(in basement, always cold), the temperature difference dizzifies me and usually lets me pass out. That said, I'm fairly certain that my internal temp is wiggy(I am always cold, or too warm. No happy inbetween. Always. I will wear hoodies in 90 degree heat with humidity at times, or be too warm at eighty, or start shivering at 75 degrees.), so I don't know how well that'd work for anyone else.
Anxiety meds work. So does having a very strict "night" routine for years and years that helps to tell the body 'we're gonna pass out now'. Which likely feeds into the anxiety bit of my brain.
Turkey is good. Lots of carbs works(bread 'n honey. Mmmmmn). Sex is good. Enough spinning/knitting that my brain finally shuts the hell up is good. I hear milk is good but I sort of hate it(I always think that it'll taste like melted vanilla ice cream and it NEVER DOES.)...

Yes, he does sort of look like me now. Whats with people copying me? First another user named hunter now the hair. Getting back on topic...I usually fall asleep pretty fast nowadays but thats only because I work at least 55 hours a week. Although it is sometimes hard to get to sleep when you get off work at 8:30am and the sun is shining through your bedroom window.

When it's bright out I manage to burrow under my mass of blankets. Or I hang up dark sheets or towels.
