D'espairs Ray
The band:
"HIZUMI (Vocal), Karyu (Guitar), ZERO (Bass), and TSUKASA (Drum) who make up D'espairsRay formed on 9.09.1999 in Tokyo. They garnered vast attention in the indies scene since their formation with their distinctive sound, unique visual concept, and enigmatic live performance. Their maxi single Garnet, that was released in 2003 hit the top spot on the Indies Chart. All of their releases that came after ranked in as well. In 2004, they were offered to play in Europe, headlining their successful shows in Berlin and Paris kicking start their activities overseas. In 2005, they released their first album [Coll:set]. In the same year they toured the West Coast in America in May, set out on a coupling tour with Kagerou in Japan, Germany(Munich), and France(Paris) in October, and returning to America for an East Coast tour in November. [Coll:set] was later released in Europe in January 2006. In June of the same year, they toured East Coast America followed by their Japan nationwide tour “[LIQUIDIZE]-yuugou suru taion-“ from July to September. Mid-tour, they flew to Germany to take part in one of Europe’s biggest Metal festivals “Wacken Open Air.” Later in November, they embarked on their first headlining tour in Europe playing 14 shows in 8 different countries. On March 14, 2007, new single Squall, was released and then their much awaited second album MIRROR, hit the stores on April 11. The band then launched their “Spiral staircase #15 Tour” (15 venues) in support of their new album. The band is participating in the J-ROCK REVOLUTION music event in Los Angeles on May 25 and 26. The band has also been invited to perform at rock festivals in Finland this June to July. They have also announced their first One Man shows in Spain and Sweden. This fall the band will once again shock the scene with their nationwide tour “Spiral Staircase : Break the MIRROR?”"
