Mineral Town was peaceful village. The towns folk got along, the crime rate was low, the literacy rate was high. It was the idea "Little House on the Pierre" town, if you should say. The villagers knew each other, trusted each other. They depended on each other. They were friends. Yes, you could call Mineral Town friendly, and you can call everyone living in this little town, friend. That is what they were, friends of Mineral Town. How quaint.

But what happens when two new farmers come to town? There has always been that poor joint farm for sale. The poor old man died and no one has used it since. How is it that not one, but two girls, who aren't complete stranger, but have never permanently lived in this town, come along and take over the farm?

Perhaps it is just luck, or some odd occurrence. Or maybe it's simply nothing at all. Whether rookie farmers, pros, spies from Forget-Me-Not, or even average ordinary women trying to make a living, one thing for sure. Things are going to start to change, now that some new friends have arrived in Mineral Town.

"That short guy should be here any minute..." Twilight muttered, lifting up her arm and glancing at her wrist, as if a watch was supposed to be there. But there was no watch. Twilight could tell that the minutes were ticking by though, and she was getting patient. She had been waiting for that other girl going to run a farm, and that mayor, Timothy, or Thomas or whatever his name was. He couldn't be much longer. After all, Twilight was early for the "closing date".

To pass the time, she looked unto the place she's be calling home. A farm. It was a mess. Weeds covered the pasture. Boulders and tree stumps clutched it as well. It looked like a war zone. She wondered how she'd ever cultivate anything like that. Then she looked out further. She could pick up the light breeze drifting past. Spring was a nice season, but she really wanted summer to come.

The farm was pretty big, big enough for two separate houses, chicken coops, barns and pastures. And it had room for building expansions too. Maybe the only thing bad about this place would be the work. With a sigh, Twilight looks at the ground then continues to mindlessly wait.

Alice looked out the window of the taxi she was in. A familiar setting passed by the window. How long ago was it since she's been here? She was, what, 12? Yeah. Her 18th birthday would be comming up this month.

She eyed the buildings as she passed by. They changed so little. She didn't recognise the people either. She saw some little kids when she used to come here, but she didn't play with them much. She really couldn't go outside, since she was staying at the Inn and her uncle had to work. So the only people she saw were the adults, which were usually drunk. She played with Ann, though. Which was fun. Every summer, from age 6 to 12, Ann was her best friend. When the old man died, Doug recommended her to this place. He always said she was a bright young girl.

She saw some people she might have seen when she was younger. God, it's been such a long time. They looked at the car as if they had never seen one before in their entire lives. The cab stopped in front of a girl, in clothes she's actually seen in a store window herself. Back in the city... this must have been her new farm-mate. She stepped out of the cab and paid the main behind the wheel, he sped off. Must have been wanting to get out of there FAST..... Alice didn't blame him. The farm, her "Wonderland" was a pigstye! She didn't imagine it would take THIS much work.... She sighed, taking her attention to the girl.

"You must be my new farm-mate." she said, putting her hand out to her. "Alice. My name is Alice."

Twilight jumped at Alice's voice. It was what she had been expecting all along, yet at this moment she didn't expect it. She spun around and covered up her nervous start with a small smile. Then, taking Alice's hand lightly, she answered, "I'm Twilight. And yeah, I guess I am your farm partner."

Twilight had talked to many people before, but starting a conversation like this was hard. She didnt know where to start. She's had to start somewhere though. She's be spending a lot of time around this Alice character, and it would be the both of them better if they got to know each other. But, she would take things slow.

Grabbing the handle to her suitcase, she looked at Alice, then out at the farm scene, "So, which part are you callings dibs on?"

Alice sighed, eyeing the awefull state of the farm. The two houses were, literally, EXACTLY the same. Everything was. Both, to their unfortune, were a mess. The only difference was in location. One was by the chicken farm, and the other by Mother's Hill. Alice looked at both, then at Twilight.

"I guess I'll take the one to the..... left?" she said, pointing at the house that was up against the fence. She figured she might be able to see some of the chickens before she bought them. Not only that, but she remembered playing with Popuri and Rick a few times growing up, and hoped they would remember her.

"Are you alright with that?" she asked. She needed to be polite to her farm partner, since they'd be pretty much living together. It was like bedrooms, only just a small walk outside away. For now, the houses were the size of bedrooms. Pretty depressing. But it was affordable. Well... it was FREE. So, it was her goal to make it worth it.

Twilight shrugged, "Sure, that's fine with me." She shifted her gaze over the pathetic excuse for a house. It was nothing like she had in the city. But she was on her own. Living for herself now. She could do anything she wanted. Freedom came with a price, but it was worth it. So she's make the best of it, and really try.

"Uh, Im going to go put my stuff away and check out my new pad." and she didn't know how to end it because she'd be seeing this girl later, and she wasn't really "leaving" so she ended it with a simple, "Catch ya later?"

"Sure." she said, smileing and nodding. A sort of.... uncomfortable greeting. But they would grow to be friends. She lifted her bags and made her way to the farm house. Openeing the door, she peeked around. It wasn't much to look at. It must have been a guest house or something. It had a twin bed, a small tv, a bookshelf, a few boxes off to the side, a Japanese style table, and a trunk. That was about it. No bathroom, no stove, no refridgerator, no nothing. She Walked in, throwing her bags on her bed. When she looked around, she almost felt like she was going to cry. It wasn't exactly her dream home. Not at all. But, she planned to make it beautiful.

After eyeing the atrocious home, she turned around and opened her bigger bag. Inside was some of the nessessities she would need like her toothbrush, any medicine she might need, bandaids, brushes, another pair of shoes, and, best of all, paint. Two medium sized buckets of white paint, and one large kit of multicolored paints. Next to it, on top of her shoes, was blue skotch tape. She was going to make this run-down shack into a work of art. THAT was what her plans were.

The door didn't really have a handle, just a little knob that pushed it open. She was disgusted to see such a shabby looking home. The room consisted of a small bed, a table, a truck, a TV set and a bookshelf. That was it. No bathroom. No kitchen. No phone. No computer. Twilight dropped her bags to the wooden floor in shock. This place was grotesque! It was like something from old movies about families who struggled to make a living. No, it was worse. Twilight defiantly wouldn't have that. She's call in a couple od designers, find a lumber jack to enlarge the place, and order the furniture by phone. She wasn't going to leave it like this.

Lucky for her, she had brought a good amount of gold with her. It was enough to make a living for the moment, without stressing herself too much. If she ran out, she could always plant stuff, right? This wasn't going to be hard at all. She took it as calmly as if she was a pro farmer, but the truth was that she only had a little farming experience from when she came over here in the summer (hint not about kai hint) and she really only hung around the farm for a few days.

But she wasn't worried about that. She was began unpacking her suitcase. He placed some hygiene items on the bookshelf, since it the only that she could find for them, and left her clothes where they were, since she didn't want her personal things out in the open. She was glad that she brought a change of clothes though, small or not.

Now. Everything was set and put away. She'd do a little clean up job later, but for now, this was decent. Twilight dropped down on the bed. Ouch. It was firm. She let out a huge, tired sigh and closed her eyes. This would be one trip. But it would be worth it. Now, just next? There was a convenience store in town...maybe it had something useful. Worth a try.

Then a thought hit her. Today was her first day here...she should introduce herself to the villagers. Hey, maybe there were some hot guys in this place. The thought suddenly made her jump off the bed. With a new confidence instilled in her, she headed for the door. She guess that Alice would assume she went out into the town, so she didn't feel the need to let her know. So, trying her best to avoid looking at the hodgepodge field, she made her way to the exit of the farm. Time for a nice stroll around the block, ne?

Alice gave the bed a good tug, trying to pull it from the wall. No luck. It must have never been moved before. Not only that, but she wasn't exactly muscular. She sighed, placing her hands on her hips. If she forced it, which she probably could do, she'd be bound to break the bed. And that wouldn't be good, now would it? She sighed, turning around to look at the trunk. Tools. That's what she wanted. I'd be good to get a head start at the lawn. Then she could get some wood, buy a stove and a fridge, and a larger, nicer house. Yeah, that'd be good. Start on the lawn and work her way around. Once the lawn was done she could start harvesting food, eatting it and selling it. Then another thought struck her.... she had to pee.....

She groaned, pressing her legs together, then scampered outside. How could that old man live like this!? she thought, groaning some more. She had to go BAD now, knowing that neither houses had bathrooms. She didn't know what do do- so she quickly stepped over the fence into the chicken farm. Immediatly she was inside a fenced area and being attacked by multiple chickens. All sqwaking, attacking, etc. At that moment, a familiar face rushed out the door- it was Rick.
