NAME: Ceyhun [Given] Jirecek [Taken]
GENDER: Male
AGE: 35 [Biological] 23 [Physical]
ZODIAC SIGN Mimameid, the Dryad [a.k.a. Taurus]
RACE: Ejderha
HOMETOWN: Liram
OCCUPATION: Blacksmith [Ex-Armourer [30-35], Ex-military [23-30]]

APPEARANCE: Ceyhun is 6'3", and while not overly-muscled, is extremely toned and well built, with most of his strength in his upper-body. His skin is covered with burn marks and scars, either darkening or lightening his darkly tanned skin, respectively, and he's obviously taken quite a bit of damage in his [relatively] short life. Ceyhun's short, boyish hair [REFERENCE] is a pale pink, as are the membranes of his somewhat small wings, and while he was teased about the color as a teen, the male is serious enough, and respected enough by his peers, that such taunting has stopped by those that aren't friendly enough with him to get away with it. His eyes are glinting obsidion, with no visible differences between pupil and iris, as are his horns, neatly trimmed claws, and the rest of his wings. When the light hits them properly, the glint becomes almost rainbow in color. Ceyhun's horns are short, and curve upwards slightly from his forhead [REFERENCE]. His scalloped ears should have quite a few piercings on them, all silver rings, and black and pink studs. He should have a fair bit of [pink!] facial hair, and a pretty, masculine face. [REFERENCE] Now that I think about it, he should have some sort of religious tattoo on one of his arms. Since I don't know what that'd look like, for the war goddess, I suppose that's up to EK.

PERSONALITY:
Tall, big, and quiet, Ceyhun is often mistaken for a dumb oaf, when in fact the ex-soldier is extremely intelligent and simply spends most of his time in reflection. Even-tempered, he now gets most of his aggression out by hammering away in the forge, rather than fighting bloody battles, and seems to usually be in a good mood. Secretly, Ceyhun loves blood, and is scared by his desire to shed it, as only a primitive part of him enjoys it. Often, on the battlefield, he lost himself, killing mercilessly and with pleasure. Now, he trys to stay away from death-dealing, as it's a part of his pysche he dislikes. Those that watch him know that he puts extreme effort into his armor and weapons to protect his allies, remembering the carnage from his days in the military. Ceyhun openly loathes guns, and while he has no true animosity for humans, he does resent more than a few of their creations.

In other aspects, Ceyhun is an honest, earnest man, and tends to say exactly what he means. This isn't to say that he's blunt or rude, as he often chooses to say nothing rather than offend others, but that the observant blacksmith's comments are surprisingly genuine. Unshy, Ceyhun's presence is usually amused, relaxed, and somewhat soothing. Respectful of other's privacy, as his own life is very private, he doesn't push or pry into other's histories or the parts of their lives he isn't privy to, instead simply letting it be. Still, he's a mix of stubborn and patient, and when he decides he wants something, he's usually persistant about getting it, and is willing to wait for it. Both of these character traits have definitely helped him over the years.

To his close friends and small children, he's a fun-loving person who likes to play, dance, drink, and eat, however, as anyone in the forge can tell you, his un-selfconcious good moods often come with "singing". Unfortunately, the large man is incredibly tone-deaf, and it's simply amusing to everyone else in earshot.

HISTORY:
Born to a surprisingly fertile couple, Ceyhun was the third of four children, and one of two still alive. At this point his parents have stopped trying to reproduce and no longer speak with their children, whereas Ceyhun and his eldest sister, Hayat Evren, write at least once a week, and regularly visit one another. His older sister, Evren, died when he was 7 from a sickness akin to tuberculosis, and his younger brother, Jirecek, died when he was 19. It was upon the second death that he and his sister took their dead siblings' names as their own. Their parents frowned upon their decision, and distanced themselves from their children.

Ceyhun and Hayat's parents were not only traditionalists, but also incredibly anti-human. They refused to take last names, saying that assimiliating into another race's culture would weaken the Ejderha, and that they were proud of their heritage. They also refused to speak of their dead children, viewing them as weak and unworthy of remembrance, therefore their living children's choice to adopt their siblings' names created a large, dysfunctional rift.

After the breaking up of their family, Ceyhun began to hang around the smithy, where the blacksmith took a liking to the adolescent and took him on as an apprentice. His good work ethic, and persistance made him a quick favorite, and when he was required to enter the military at 22 it was with reluctance on both of their parts.

A good soldier, he followed his officer's orders to the letter, and seemed to turn off his mind and conscience, all of his attacks ending in death. Ceyhun did not leave wounded. Still, he did not advance much, and any offer of promotion was turned down. Ceyhun never planned on staying in the military. Still, he gained a reputation as a reliable, efficient soldier, and therefore was a no-brainer for the defense of Nasaja. Once the human army landed on the coast, he was sent there, and surprisingly, made it through the long continuous battles. Considering his Aluf Mishne, an older woman named Piraya, a good leader, he generally didn't question her decisions, and never mentioned the incident he most remembered her personally for. As a blacksmith and armorer first and soldier second, he was a fan of protecting, rather than killing, and supported the sparing of a human healer he was a silent witness to.

Under her leadership he killed what seemed like hundreds of humans, and took few wounds himself, including a bullet in the left thigh, but was relatively unscathed by the carnage. Taking it as a lucky break, the Ejderha resigned immediantly after the battle, and went back to his home city of Liram. He only lasted two years there before the constant reminder of the battle wore him down, like a lot of the survivers, he was a heavy drinker for quite some time, and even now regresses into bouts of depression. Relocating to Aschere, he was readily accepted into a large smithy, and spent the next three years working on his craft and becoming more and more interested in the League.

He would hear the adventurers tales as they came to have their armor and weapons repaired, and was hooked into one particular human's mention of a dragoon that had recently become a leader of theirs named Piraya, of all things. Only weeks later he found a flyer and decided that if any group needed a blacksmith, it was a league of adventurers.

COMMON KNOWLEDGE: Most should know that as a mature Ejderha, Ceyhun's served in the military, and although currently in a passive mindset, must know how to fight. So far, being new to the league, the most others would have heard is that attractive women and small children are likely to get away with comments about his pink hues, and that despite his apparent good humor, he's not much of a talker.

DIVISION: Melee Weaponry

JOB/CLASS: Blacksmith>Battlesmith>Mastersmith

Blacksmith: [+3 Melee, +1 Ranged, +1 Magic/Other]
The blacksmith is a metal worker who is first beginning to bond with his tools and creations. He can make standard weaponry and armor, and is beginning to discover the magic involved with forge-working. He is gaining strength, and becoming attuned to using his hammer. Within the forge, his magic will become centered around creating flames.

As for clothing, he should simply wear pants of a rough fabric, and a large belt. He could have loose suspenders that have several small hammers and tongs stuck in them.

Battlesmith: [+6 Melee, +2 Ranged, +2 Magic/Other]
After gaining the level of Battlesmith, Ceyhun will learn to turn his increasing smith skills to the battlefield, and use his spells of fire on his enemies, and his powers to strengthen himself and his allies.

Clothing could progress to having black gloves to his elbows, some sort of hat, a form fitting shirt, and the same sort of pants.

Mastersmith: [+10 Melee, +2 Ranged, +3 Magic/Other]
Unsure. D:

SPECIAL SKILLS

BattleSkill LVL01: Enhance Weapon: Your character has the ability to improve upon the weapons of his allies as well as himself. By attending to a weapon, your character can give a +1 boost to either melee or ranged that lasts for the duration of one battle. Characters receiving this weapon enhancement may have melee or ranged increased, but not both. This bonus is stackable with buffs. This bonus can exceed stat limits. Unlike other buffs, this skill is performed outside of battle. There is no point requirement.

BattleSkill LVL02: Enhance Armor: Your character has the ability to improve upon the armor of his allies as well as himself. By attending to a piece of armor, your character can give a +3 boost to max HP that lasts for the duration of one battle. This bonus is stackable with buffs. Unlike other buffs, this skill is performed outside of battle. There is no point requirement.

BattleSkill LVL03: Signature Move: ForgeFire [d20+Melee+Magic/Other] Your character has trained in a special move that does greater damage than they usually perform. Unfortunately this move is exhausting and may not be performed often. For this special attack you may stack two bonuses and use this in both determining success of attack as well as damage. All buffs continue to take effect. At level 2, you can use this skill once per battle. At level 3 you can use this skill twice per battle, but not consecutively.

Racial Bonus: Breath Skill (Ejderha) Commonly, Ejderha can breathe enough fire to light a candle. If you wish to have a more impressive breath ability, allot points to magic/other. This is a narrative skill. I have given Ceyhun some magic/other skills so that he may light forge fires, and imbue his blade with the flame for his signature move.

WEAPON: A longsword that he used frequently in the military, crafted by himself, as well as several blacksmith hammers consistantly found on his person. If shown, the sword should have a black, metal hilt, and a blade with a pink hue to it.
LEVEL: One
POINT ASSIGNMENT: Melee (3), Ranged (1), Magic/Other (1)
HIT POINTS: 43 [+3 Racial Bonus]
EVADE: 12

I think that Summon Shield could work as an armor enchant (it gives +5/+10/+15 HP dependant on level) but I'm fairly certain it's meant to be for self only. You would need to increase your character's magic/other to 4/5/6 at levels 1, 2, and 3 in order to use Summon Shield.

The Positive Stat Effect buff could be used for temporary equipment enchantments, boosting people's ranged or melee bonuses, but again, he'd need to increase his magic points if he wanted to cast a buff on people other than himself.

I think the system was put in place to make things more fair for people playing support mages, who have to take a hit in HP and Evade in order to be, well, mages. ; )

Hope that helped!

That's a good idea. That, or I'd need to talk to a mod about designing an original spell. I know that for the fire ones, I just need the magic points to increase his flame breath that all Ejderha have... Because what kind of Blacksmith can't light their own fires, hrmmm? xD Thanks

Haha, yeah. Franziska's an offensive fire mage herself. Handy for an explosion-causing guerilla 3nodding .

Sorry - I was on my way out the door when you asked.

I think he looks good! The unselfconsciousness about the pink hair is a nice touch. Will he be in the melee division, then? He looks like a very mixed class, with offensive fire magic spells, support magic skills, and melee HP/evade progression and attack power.

Interesting that his parents disinherited him and his sister over the name issue. They're traditionalists? Or they regard the dead children as "weak" and unworthy of the memorial? As an Ejderha with a respiratory condition herself, a good part of Franziska's motivation is about proving that she can be as strong as her healthy military family members, since the Ejderha are a strength-based society.

I suppose I should change the language. Not necessarily a "disinheritance", but rather, the parents were already splitting, after dealing with the deaths of two children, and seeing as Ceyhun has a distaste for death, and is their only son? They weren't exactly down with that. I do have to say that they viewed honoring their "weak" children as something to be looked down upon though. That, and perhaps they could be anti-human, disliking the practice of a last name, thinking that the Ejderha shouldn't mingle with other cultures...

I do think he'll fall into melee, despite any magic he may develop. Most of his magic is support, since the fire is simply an amplified Ejderha trait, that he'll develop in his support role as a Blacksmith, yanno? He probably won't end up with many magic skills, probably just the fire and the shield.

-Thanks for the second look though. <3

Hello~

I am commenting for two reasons:

uno. Looks good so far. I might read over things again with a fine tooth comb so you can pick out any grammatical errors or general prose weirdness (there are some word repetitions that can be fixed with just swapping in pronouns and such). Also, just checking, because I need this stuff spelled out for me XD;;; Ceyhun took his siblings name to honor the sibling, right? And his parents distanced themselves from him and his sister because they thought it was creepy/disrespectful?

dos. The mods have been discussing Ceyhun's skills and will hopefully get back to yoiu about them soon!

keep up the good work! biggrin

I don't think there's many grammatical errors, however, I'm sure there's a lot of weirdness, heh.

I've added in a small paragraph to his history regarding exactly what his parents disliked, but in essence, yea, that's why. I've also added an unrelated comment on bloodlust to his personality. :B

And thank you!

Whoops, yeah, Esma and Aileism are both lacking in proper religious symbols. Will mention that to EK. xd

Personality looks good!

History also looks good. I like it a lot! 3nodding

For skills, I definitely am going to suggest taking Signature attack so you can enchant your weapon with fire. Otherwise we've been discussing allowing Ceyhun to have an ability that adds +1 to melee or ranged to his companions (and self) for the duration of a battle (and remains stackable with other buffs) and an ability to add +3 HP to his companions (and self) for the duration of a battle. (These would be two skills.) Unlike most skills, these would be able to be buffed prebattle, since it doesn't make much sense for him to sharpen someone's blade in the heat of battle. (Essentially Ceyhun's presence would act like a pet, but affecting everyone in his party.) 3nodding Let me know what you think and I'll write up something more official sounding.

I'm not sure about the extra point of evade just because none of the other military Ejderha received evade bonuses. If you're taking Melee HP, you should be fine without the extra point of Evade.

Just sort out your job class stuff and I think this concept is well on its way to an approval!
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2007 9:15 pm

Alright, I think I definitely dig that idea. xD Thank ya'll for going over it. So, basically, the signature move would be one, the +1 melee or ranged another, and +3 HP the third? And would those each appear in that order as he got a higher class? I'm down with that. I'd like to see the official take on it, but yea, I'd like to incorporate that into his job class.

I'm also okay with no Evade bonus, and I'm totally willing to take it off. :B

Signature Move is probably third level. It can only be taken at second or third level. I'd probably recommend the weapon one first, then armor, then signature move, but that is up to you. xd

And I will get more official skill write-ups to you, uh, tomorrow since it's after midnight here. xd
