Ash has a habit of meeting new girls, ruining their bikes, and then spending seasons and seasons traveling with them, driving us Romance fans wild.
While 4kids made is PAINFULLY obvious that they wanted Misty to be in love with Ash (despite the lack of any proof from the Japanese), May and Dawn were left being just friendly. May had her own romantic rival, Drew. And as of yet, unless we count her friend/rival Zoey, Dawn is open.
Which one do you prefer as a couple?
Ash and Misty bicker like middle schoolers.
Ash and May get along much better, but May seems to be taken by Drew.
Ash and Dawn bicker, but are SO similar in personality, it's hard to ignore.
I myself find myself liking Ash/May out of the three options honestly.
Note: Please dont choose Gary. He's not in this thread. He'll get his own. XD

Pokeshipping for me, no contest. This was my first straight pairing love, and probably will remain number one for a long a** time.
I never really liked May (she's only cool when she gets her Blaziken) so I never really paid attention to the Advanceshipping. I kind of liked Drew/May, but only a tiny bit. I also see her paired with Harley, which makes me wonder what some people are thinking...
But that's not the topic of this...topic. xd Though, I think I would so totally read something that was a love triangle between Ash, May, and Drew. 3nodding Even though I'm slightly turned off by most straight pairings.
And for Pearlshipping...don't like Dawn enough either to care. Appealshipping (if I got that right, Nozomi/Dawn, right?) I'll look for, cause of the femslash-ness of it all.

Pokeshipping hands down.
Out of all the girls Ash met Misty was my favorite.
And if you actually think of this logically. Ash met Misty when he was ten. And she was older than him.
And then when he met May he would have been 2 years older. Because May would have been ten.
And thennnnnnn He would have been roughly 14 or 15 when he met Dawn because she started at ten too. It just makes more sense to me to Pokeship. Mind you though Im not that big of a pokeshipper Im more of an egoshipper.

Out of the three, I like Pearlshipping the best, personally. I honestly have no reason for liking it...besides from the two looking cute together. (I'm an Abilityshipper, but if I had to pair Ash with one of the three main girls, I would like him with Dawn). I noticed that they bickered like Ash and Misty did in the first season occasionally...but I did notice a bit of apologizing too. ^^
Advancedshipping...eh, if I see fanart, I won't flip out. I just don't really think that there was enough hints to support this shipping. I don't think they could ever really be more than friends. There weren't really too many hints leaning towards them being a possible couple. I mean...I think they fought like...twice or something. XD While you got May and Drew blushing over each other. (Contestshipping wins for my favourite May pairing)
Ha. Pokéshipping. I was never meant to be a Pokéshipper. I was only a fan of it for...about two or three months after becoming a fan of the Pokémon series. And then I stopped. And hated from fourth grade up until...now. I still can't really stand it. I can just about stand it now, because I made a bunch of friends who are Pokéshippers, but still.
Pokéshipping is probably my favourite couple to take the hints apart. =3 I know that's mean of me...but it's true. I have a lot of fun, because there are many hints that people give that are A.) dub only and B.) can mean more than one thing. What I mean by more than one thing is...yes, the two care about each other...but it could mean they're best friends (which they are), have a sibling-like relationship (which I personally think they do), and such. Something that doesn't contain romance in them. I will admit that I can see where some of the hints are coming from, but I think that there is a different reason rather than them having a crush on each other!
I personally don't see why people think Pokéshipping is cute, but that's just me. XD Yet again, people probably don't see what I like about Abilityshipping and Pearlshipping. =3; Or a Masumishipping (Max x Misty, for those who don't know that couple).

But just to point out a lil somethin' somethin' is that.. all three of the girls bickered with Ash. And Dawn is really cute, way better than May I must admit. But really, when you look at all 3 girls and how they were with Ash. Nothing really has changed. And personally, if I could. I would rather pair Ash with Gary instead of a girl. >______< kkekke.

-sigh- I'd have to go with May. I have no idea why. But if I had to put Ash with a girl, that'd be it. And I DESPISE Misty. I can not stand her. Really. No offense to anyone that likes her, but I'd never put her with Ash. As for Dawn, well, I don't know all that much about her, so I can't really place her with Ash, either.

Out of these 3 pairings I'd say Misty. IMO he's shown more feelings towards her, and May has shown feelings for Drew. And for Dawn, well I dunno yet we haven't seen much but they are starting to be really good friends. Of course there's Kenny who blushed as Dawn spun around in her dress. I haven't seen misty show much feelings for tracey.

I do not like Pokeshipping.
So I'm torn between May and Dawn. Both girls get along with Ash fairly well. But May has a romance going on with Drew which is the closest thing the anime has to actual canon.
I think I have to go with Dawn on this.

Their PokeSpe counter parts, Ruby and Sapphire are pretty damn totally canon. But Anime!May is not interchangeable with either Game!May or Sapphire. Unless you are proposing a Game/Anime canon crossover. EDIT: A Anime-counterpart for Brenden does appear 3 times in the anime, but they dont really interact

PokeShipping, please and thank you. This was probably my first ever pairing as a child. Plus, out of the three Misty is my favorite girl. The other two drive me up the wall. >.< There was just something about Ash and Misty together that I found cute. They showed more obvious feelings for each other (at least in English?).
I don't like AdvanceShipping at all. This seemed non-existent to me. I never like May to begin with either, which contributed. Plus, I like pairing May with Drew anyway. ContestShipping is my second favorite Pokemon pairing. They were even more canon than AshxMisty, at least from an anime standpoint.
As for PearlShipping... this might just be me, but this seems more like jail bait to me than anything else. sweatdrop
