I was wondering how everyone feels about this subject, do you have a limit as to what is to much? Are you openly proud to be gay? What is going around you?
I know since I live near San Fran, there are always different event going on. Recently I have been invited to go walk in the Gay Pride march in San Francisco with some friends, but I don't know if I want to. I am fine with being gay and I do absolutely nothing to hide the fact that I'm Gay, but marching through a city to show my pride seems like to much. I believe we are just like everyone else, so why should we have to march and proclaim our Gayness.
One of my friends, feels it is necessary for those who are afraid to come out, to let them know they have support. SO what are your thoughts?

I agree that we are just like everyone else, so there's no real reason to march for pride. Marching for awareness however is fine, and another goal of gay pride parades. Though I'd never march in one. I don't really have "pride" as a gay person, any more so than a straight guy would think about having pride for being a straight person.

Im very proud of being gay. If it werent for some of the things that happen at the gay pride parades, I would attend those too. But since alot of em have incidents that give the gay population a very bad name, I not only wont join them, but I would discourage people from attending them, not unless they convinced me they had strict rules on those attending.
But otherwise, Im proud of being gay, and I say that the velvet mafia should take over the world and show hardcore homophobes what it is like to be in the minority! >=D
*goes around preaching and converting people to be gay*
Dont ask how that happens...its why Gaia exists....xDDD

I would go only if people were decent, and if I had friends to go with. I would imagine I would be single, cause if I had a boyfriend, then I would have better things to do....>D

The only thing that would get me to go, is to support my boyfriend who might be going.

my city always has a pride week, remember london is a wannabe Toronto/london england... so... Personally I don't think it's fair that people can't celebrate being straight..

I get really uncomfortable around that many super flamboyant guys. I'm out of the closet to EVERYONE, and I'm a teeny bit flamboyant, but people generally don't realize that I'm gay when they meet me. The only reason I go to pride events is to try and meet a boyfriend, which doesn't work, because they're all too flamey. I wish I liked flamboyant guys, because then I wouldn't be single.

I am gay, but I don't go shouting it from the rooftops. :/ I mean, do straight people go have parades around school about being straight? If so, not as much as a lot of gays do. :/ I usually just tell people that ask me directly.

I agree. -.- Having gay pride is awesome and all.....but not to the extent of a parade.
